Job summary
Band 2 Administrator
Castle Hill Hospital, HullFull Time Position Available
Have you ever thought about working for the NHS?
Behind every appointment, every clinic, every patient seen - there is someone who made it happen.
Our Administrators are the unseen heroes of patient care. The reassuring voice on the phone. The organised mind behind the clinic list. The calm presence supporting patients in what can often be their most worrying moments. Without them, patients don't get seen. Services don't run. Care doesn't flow.
We are recruiting Administrators to join our team in the Queens Centre for Oncology & Haematology at Castle Hill Hospital. You don't need previous NHS experience - we can teach you the systems. What we can't teach is compassion, professionalism and the ability to care about getting things right for patients. That's what we're looking for.
Main duties of the job
What you'll bring:
- A caring and compassionate approach
- Confidence communicating with patients and the public
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic IT skills (typing, email, data entry, use of computer systems)
- The ability to work as part of a close-knit team
- Calmness in a sometimes fast-paced environment
What you'll gain:
- The chance to make a real difference every single day
- Full and part-time opportunities with flexible working options
- One of the best pension schemes available
- Generous annual leave entitlement - because you work hard and deserve proper time off
- Structured training and ongoing support
- Genuine career progression - many of our senior leaders began in administrative roles
Patient care is at the heart of everything we do, and our administrative teams are central to making that care possible. If you are organised, compassionate, and want a role where your work truly matters, we would love to hear from you.

A degree in Psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society is essential.
Right to Work in the UK This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application, as the organisation is unable to support sponsorship for this post.

Experience of research, audit, service evaluation or data analysis is highly desirable, alongside excellent written communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will be expected to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, managing a varied workload and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Op Courage provides a complete care pathway and is delivered by a Multi-Disciplinary Team. The pathway starts with a comprehensive needs-led conversation and is followed by evidence-based interventions/treatment for a wide range of need and complexity, from the early signs of mental health problems through to complex mental health difficulties and psychological trauma.
The service is delivered via a hybrid model which includes using clinical spaces, hot-desks and homeworking. Clinical appointments are delivered face to face or virtually, so some lone working will be required. The postholder will also be expected to attend face-to-face team meetings and Trust training which will be within the Op Courage footprint but may be outside their usual working area.
