About us

Pennygate is a large busy practice in the borough of Wigan with approximately 19,000 patients; we are a training practice currently supporting ST3, ST1 and FY2 doctors as well as nursing students. We consistently achieve excellent QOF and Primary Care Standards results and met all CQC standards.

We are looking to employ a Cleaning Supervisor to support our current domestic cleaning team.
The role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday working either 04:00am -10:00am, 05:00am-11:00am or 06:00am-12:00pm each day
The Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of domestic cleaning services within the GP practice, ensuring that a consistently high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection prevention is maintained across all clinical and non-clinical areas.
The post holder will supervise cleaning staff, coordinate rotas and workloads, monitor cleaning standards, undertake quality assurance checks, and support compliance with NHS cleaning standards, infection prevention and control requirements, and Health and Safety legislation. Job summary
Pennygate Medical Centre are advertising a new role of trainee read coder and summariser. We are a large team serving 19,000 patients. Due to an increase in list size we are looking to increase our coding team and administration hours. We have 2 positions available in the coding Team. Both positions will work Monday to Friday 2pm-6pm. The trainee will receive 12 months of training and once training is complete the pay band will be reviewed.

Role
To assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
To provide comprehensive general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
To ensure that the working environment is kept tidy and fully operational, Health & Safety compliant and that standards and high attention to detail levels are maintained at all times.
Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Management Team, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing levels:
Main duties of the job
- Receiving patients attending for appointments with members of practice team
- Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patients and checking names and addresses
- Be able to cover all other reception duties as necessary
- Process immediate (and emergency) appointment requests and requests for future appointments from patients by telephone and in person
- Deal with requests for home visits
- Answer telephone and deal with all queries resulting from that call.
- Navigating patients to the most appropriate clinician and care required.
- Advising patients of the relevant charges for private services, accepting all types of payments and issuing receipts where necessary.
- Delivering assistance to clinicial staff when needed i.e. chaperoning (after revelant training).

The Practice comprises of 9 GP Partners, 8 salaried GP's, 3 ANP's, 5 Practice Nurses, 3 HCA's and a large reception and administration team.
