An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and visionary Consultant Midwife to join the Women and Children's Service at Powys Teaching Health Board. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership, strategic influence, education, research and consultancy across maternity services, promoting excellence in personalised, evidence-based and woman-centred care.
Main duties of the job
- Providing expert midwifery leadership and acting as a role model for clinical excellence across maternity services. This will include supporting the Bronze on Call senior management rota.
- Supporting midwives in the management of women with complex needs, including the development of individualised care plans and decision-making in complex situations.
- Leading strategic service development and quality improvement initiatives to enhance safety, outcomes and experiences for women and families.
- Promoting physiological birth, continuity of care and personalised maternity care pathways in line with national and local priorities.
- Developing and implementing evidence-based policies, guidelines, standards and care pathways to support best practice in maternity care.
- Providing expert advice to senior leaders, multidisciplinary teams and partner organisations on midwifery practice, maternal wellbeing and public health initiatives.
- Developing and delivering education, training and workforce development programmes to support the ongoing professional growth of midwives and maternity staff.
- Leading and contributing to clinical audit, service evaluation, research and innovation activities to improve maternity services and inform future practice.
- Supporting women and families through specialist services, including the development of birth reflection and debrief services following.

Job summary
Provision of high quality podiatric care for patients with pathological foot conditions and those individuals at risk of developing serious foot health complications in a range of specialist podiatry clinics in nail surgery, MSK Podiatry and Diabetes in various geographical locations. Management of a domiciliary caseload is required.
Main duties of the job
You are required to have experiencewith extensivewound care management and a broad scope of podiatry practice. You may also be required to occasionally cover our satellite clinics.There will be supervision and mentoring from senior colleagues.You will also supervise band 5 podiatrists, podiatry assistants and students, promoting evidence-based practice and supporting decision making.
The goal of the service is to enable patients to make informed choices about how to manage their condition, so that they can stay as well as possible for as long as possible, and reduce their risk of diabetes-related complications. Patients are empowered to self-manage wherever possible.

Job summary
You will work as part of an existing team of podiatrists in Powys and will have a specialist interest in the management of the high-risk patient and wound care. You will be given opportunities in the longer term to develop their own specialist knowledge, skills and competence. The successful candidate will be supported to gain an independent prescribing qualification if they do not already have one.

You will be based in Welshpool or Newtown and you will be responsible for the day to day running of the wound care service providing specialist podiatry services to patients with diabetic foot complications in a busy clinical environment. You will undertake advanced wound care and casting techniques. You will be responsible for the clinical supervision of junior team members, students, and other support staff within the team.
The goal of the service is to enable patients to make informed choices about how to manage their condition, so that they can stay as well as possible for as long as possible, and reduce their risk of diabetes-related complications. Patients are empowered to self-manage wherever possible.
Main duties of the job
There has been considerable investment in PTHB AHP Leadership Team who are forward thinking and innovative embracing current strategy, and this filters down to all staff. Recent developments, to support evolving health care needs resulting from the remote locality of Powys and Covid 19 pandemic, have included rollout of digital records and video consultations so the location of this post is not fixed.

Job summary
The Associate Practitioner in Audiology will provide interventions with routine / non-complex hearing pathologies / disabilities. This will involve developing the individual care / management plan with appropriate accountability to the Audiologist. The Associate Audiologist is NOT an independent practitioner, and it is anticipated that some clinical supervision and mentoring will be planned during the normal schedule of the working day. Main duties of the job
Provide and assist with basic adult hearing aid rehabilitation and to (under indirect supervision) deliver the patient individual management plan.
Expected to perform routine audiological investigations such as Puretone audiometry for hearing aid re-assessments / reviews, tympanometry, aural impressions and programming and evaluation of hearing aid systems which would include real ear measurements under mentoring programmes.
May be required to participate and assist with paediatric audiological assessment and carry out school screening when required and provide a domiciliary service for house bound patients.
Always recognise own limits of competence and levels of responsibility and autonomy within the approved scope of practice.
Maintain own personal competence and work as a reflective practitioner to deliver high quality client care.

The successful candidates will join dynamic, supportive multidisciplinary teams based in Powys, with posts aligned to the South Powys hub at Brecon
Although these are community-facing and multidisciplinary posts, they offer a unique and well-balanced mix of clinical duties. The post holders will have regular commitments across community inpatient care, frailty, rehabilitation, urgent-care interfaces and acute-sector liaison, including opportunities to develop cross-border working skills with acute providers in Wales and England.
Working as part of a consultant-led medical team, the post holders will contribute to daily inpatient review, MDT working, discharge coordination, repatriation from acute hospitals, community-facing care and the development of safe local alternatives to unnecessary acute escalation.
Main duties of the job
Responsibility for inpatient admission, day-to-day management, co-ordination of inpatient management under the supervision of the Consultant and/or in close liaison with community teams.
Key role in discharge planning and co-ordinating approaches with relatives and other agencies.
Liaison with patients and relatives/carers and members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the patients receive a high-quality service and are all kept informed of progress as appropriate.

Powys Teaching Health Board is delighted to offer new substantive Specialty Doctor posts within the developing Clinical Oversight Medical Model for community inpatient and interface services. These posts provide a unique opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful and distinctive parts of Wales, supporting patients across community hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, frailty, urgent-care and care-closer-to-home pathways.
The successful candidates will join dynamic, supportive multidisciplinary teams based in Powys, with posts aligned to theMid Powys hub at Llandrindod Wells
Although these are community-facing and multidisciplinary posts, they offer a unique and well-balanced mix of clinical duties. The post holders will have regular commitments across community inpatient care, frailty, rehabilitation, urgent-care interfaces and acute-sector liaison, including opportunities to develop cross-border working skills with acute providers in Wales and England.
Working as part of a consultant-led medical team, the post holders will contribute to daily inpatient review, MDT working, discharge coordination, repatriation from acute hospitals, community-facing care and the development of safe local alternatives to unnecessary acute escalation.
Main duties of the job
Responsibility for inpatient admission, day-to-day management, co-ordination of inpatient management under the supervision of the Consultant and/or in close liaison with community teams.
Key role in discharge planning and co-ordinating approaches with relatives and other agencies.
Liaison with patients and relatives/carers and members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the patients receive a high-quality service and are all kept informed of progress as appropriate.
Responsibility for contemporaneous record keeping, identifying progress and plans in patients' case notes.

You will need to be self-motivated, have a flexible approach to work, able to work as part of a team and have the ability to work on your own initiative. Main duties of the job

Role specificMain responsibilities include delivering inpatient rehabilitation at Brecon Hospital, which includes specialist assessment of neurological patients.
The base will be Brecon Hospital.

To contribute to service development, mentorship of junior staff, student physiotherapists and delegation of rehabilitation plans to enable active rehabilitation.
The team provides a 7-day service, and all staff are expected to be part of the weekend roster.
Be flexible at times of increased demand to the service.
To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of therapy service, having responsibility for defined projects.

There is an exciting new opportunity for a registered Dental Nurse to join the community dental service team, where quality of care is the primary focus. The team consists of experienced Dentists, Dental Nurses, Dental Therapists and administrative staff, where skill mixing is encouraged. There is an exciting new opportunity for a registered Dental Nurse to join the community dental service team, where quality of care is the primary focus. The post is Band 4, Part time, 15 hours per week in Brecon. This is a new role created to support the multidisciplinary team at Powys Living Well Service deliver a biopsychosocial approach to the management of long term conditions specifically: persistent pain, chronic fatigue/ME, long covid and weight management issues. The Support Services Catering Assistant is responsible to the Hotel Services Supervisor to undertake a range of catering duties, which include the preparation of beverages, snacks, salads, sandwiches, buffets, and cooking of hot meals for both patients and staff within the Health Board. To carry out other relevant duties associated with the catering operation and, periodically, those as directed to support the wider Hotel Services Team, e.g., cleaning or porter tasks.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit to a Hotel Services band 2 Catering Assistant at Bronllys Hospital for 22.5 hours per week. You will support the local delivery of hotel services catering and associated facilities activities, ensuring that they are delivered at the levels agreed and that they meet with full compliance with all appropriate legislation and local policies and procedures. You will need to be self-motivated, have a flexible approach to work, able to work as part of a team and have the ability to work on your own initiative. Previous experience is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given. You will be working as part of a rota that can include evenings, every other weekend and bank holidays as they fall.
We would particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers; but even if you don't speak any Welsh, or want to develop your skills, don't worry: the health board will support you with training.
