Shift options to suit your lifestyle:
We offer a variety of shift lengths ranging from 3 to 7.5 hours, making it easy to fit around your lifestyle and we have the following shift patterns:
- Afternoon shifts: 11:30am -7:30pm or 2pm -10pm
- Weekend shifts between: 7am - 10pm

Main duties of the job

As a visible and influential leader, you will work at the heart of hospital operations, ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time. You'll coordinate patient flow across the organisation, overseeing admissions, transfers and discharges while supporting effective bed management and capacity planning.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, senior clinicians and operational colleagues, you will provide expert decision-making and leadership during both routine operations and periods of escalation. You will help maintain patient safety, support efficient service delivery and contribute to an exceptional patient experience.

We're seeking an experienced healthcare professional with excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills. You need to be confident working in a dynamic environment, able to manage competing priorities and committed to delivering outstanding care and operational excellence.
Main duties of the job
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers and discharges in accordance with Trust policies and agreed pathways.
- Work collaboratively with clinical teams and external partners to facilitate timely patient flow.
- Promote a patient-centred approach to care, ensuring patients and carers are appropriately involved in decision-making.
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Support implementation of the Trust Bed Management Policy and Procedures.
- Work with the Emergency Department and inpatient areas to support safe and timely patient movement.
- Lead and coordinate internal and external escalation processes.
- Maintain effective working relationships with all clinical and operational teams.
- Identify barriers to patient flow and work with teams to develop and implement solutions.
- Support effective use of Trust bed capacity and liaise with partner organisations as required.
- Respond appropriately to major incidents, fire alerts, cardiac arrests and security incidents in accordance with Trust procedures. [
- Provide operational advice and support to clinical teams outside normal working hours.

- Providing specialist expertise in the care of patients with haematological cancers, with a particular focus on Myeloma, while also contributing to care across the broader haematology CNS service.

- Offering clinical guidance, supervision, and training to peers and junior staff, supporting a skilled and confident workforce.

We are looking for a kind, compassionate and motivated nurse to join our passionate, highly skilled multi-professional team. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in developing or enhancing their competency in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
Within the Medlock Unit, you will have the opportunity to broaden your skills and knowledge while supporting patients receiving SACT and other supportive treatments in an acute cancer setting. You will receive a tailored induction programme, including visits to adjacent areas within the department, followed by completion of the SACT Competency Passport within six months.

We are looking for a Band 6 Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapist / Exercise Therapist to join out team on a part-time basis.
The role within a multidisciplinary team is to support patients to exercise safely and effectively following a Myocardial Infarction, Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Valve repair/replacement and Percutaneous Coronary Interventions in community venues.
To provide highly specialized assessment and exercise prescription for patients with complex needs, and to provide exercise advice, guidance, and information.
To provide a specialized resource for other staff and health care professionals.
To take a lead in the provision of exercise prescription and delivering the exercise component of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program in a variety of delivery models.
Main duties of the job
- To assist in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of effective evidence-based exercise, to patients with coronary artery disease, in community venues.
- To carry out individual patient functional capacity assessments using standardized exercise assessment tools recognized by British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR).

The Anticoagulant Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing a Nurse/Pharmacist Led Anticoagulation Service offering advice and expertise within the area of Anticoagulation and also providing a dosing service for all oral anticoagulants for outpatients. Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join Great Western Hospital as a Biomedical Support Worker.
You will part of the Cellular Pathology team involved in the technical preparation of specimens and performing defined procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures. This will include all aspects of the routine service provided by the department.
Main duties of the job
- Reception of specimens. Reception includes collection of specimens from pathology reception, data matching between specimen containers and request forms, coding samples, sorting into the correct work stream, and identification of specimens which must be rejected. Rejected samples must be resolved and logged.
- Set up, and clean down of dissection area, ensuring all required equipment/consumables are available and correct cleaning/disinfection methods are used. May involve some exposure to sharps (e.g. scalpel blades, dissection knives).
- Assist with the process of specimen dissection. This involves writing medical dictation for occasionally long periods of time, and checking patient and specimen identification.
- Responsibility for specimen storage and disposal. Store specimens awaiting disposal correctly, following departmental protocol. Identification of specimens ready for disposal. Disposal of specimens in a safe manner, including those requiring non-standard disposal (e.g. POCs).
- Embedding processed tissue. This involves correctly orientating tissue in order to ensure subsequent diagnostic processes are able to be completed accurately.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Ophthalmic Technician, or someone looking to develop their skills and knowledge within this specialist area, to join our friendly and supportive Ophthalmology team.
You will undertake a range of diagnostic tests, including visual acuity assessments and OCT imaging, supporting clinicians and nurses in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of eye conditions.
This role is ideal for someone with ophthalmic experience who wishes to further develop their expertise, as well as individuals with a keen interest in ophthalmology who are eager to learn. Job summary

Neonatal Staff Nurse - Full time (37.5 hours) and part time hours available
Our Neonatal unit has 18 cots, which is comprised of 2 intensive cots, 4 high dependency cots and 12 special care cot's. We are a designated Local Neonatal Unit, (Level 2), providing excellent care for preterm babies from 27 weeks' gestation and for sick new born babies. We provide stabilisation for babies born at lower gestations prior to transfer to tertiary units by a designated network transport team.As a band 5 nurse you will work alongside an experienced team to provide care to a range of babies with a variety of conditions.

We are looking for experienced Neonatal nurses to join an enthusiastic, friendly, motivated multidisciplinary team whose focus is on the baby and family. We are committed to delivering the highest standard of care to our babies and their families. You will be joining a team who work a variety of shifts including internal rotation to night duty. Opportunities exist for personal development and staff are supported to undertake additional training as required. We also offer a very well received programme of simulation training sessions which develop knowledge and skills in neonatal practices.
