As a Clinical Imaging Assistant, you will support patients throughout their diagnostic journey, helping to ensure a safe, efficient and compassionate experience from referral through to scan. With demand for Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT services growing, this is an exciting opportunity to join a specialised area of healthcare and develop valuable clinical skills.
Working closely with radiographers, technologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will greet and prepare patients for their scans, complete pre-scan checks, support clinical procedures and assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the department. No previous Nuclear Medicine experience is required, as full training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Imaging Assistant is appointed to support the nuclear medicine technologists or radiographers in a clinical and clerical capacity.The post holder will meet patients and run through a checklist to confirm they are suitable for scanning as well as preparing the department before and after use.
What you'll be doing- Welcoming and supporting patients attending for Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT scans.
- Explaining procedures and helping patients feel comfortable and informed.
- Performing pre-scan checks, including consent, glucose monitoring and cannulation (training provided).
- Assisting radiographers and technologists with clinical lists and patient preparation.
- Completing essential administrative and record-keeping tasks.
- Managing stock, ordering supplies and receiving deliveries.
- Supporting patients within the department and across the hospital as required.
- A caring, personable and professional individual.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a busy clinical team.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Gynaecology Department in a varied and rewarding administrative role, supporting both patients and clinical teams.
This is a busy, people-focused position where no two days are the same. You will play a key role in coordinating patient appointments, responding to telephone and email enquiries, preparing clinic notes and resolving a wide range of administrative queries. At times, you will also cover the department reception desk, acting as the first point of contact for patients and welcoming them when they arrive for their appointments. We are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Medical & Dental Temporary Staffing Booking Coordinator to join our Temporary Staffing Team. This exciting role will support the coordination of medical and dental temporary staffing across a single hospital site, ensuring shifts are filled safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.
You will work closely with rota coordinators, clinical teams, recruitment colleagues and temporary workers to manage bookings, support bank worker development, and help maintain safe staffing levels for patients. The role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
We are seeking candidates with administrative or customer service experience, ideally within the NHS, recruitment, temporary staffing or workforce planning. As an experienced and competent practitioner you will understand the need for a caring and compassionate approach along with attention to detail, play a key role in the delivery of the ultrasound service and are able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to service development and CPD.
You will undertake all types of obstetric, gynaecology and general ultrasound examinations & provide independent reports - this includes early pregnancy assessment, and TVS. You will assess and report on your own specialised workload.

We have a total of 9 rooms at the RUH and the service is delivered across an additional 3 community sites, so having a valid UK drivers' licence would be advantageous. All rooms are equipped with high quality (Canon, Samsung & GE) machines, dual monitors & PACS.
You will have the DMU/PgCert/PgDip or equivalent, with experience of working within an ultrasound department. Trainees nearing the end of their Ultrasound training will be considered.
To be considered for this role, you must have a Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE) accredited Post Graduate Certificate in Obstetric ultrasound or Post Graduate Diploma which includes Obstetrics, Gynaecology & General Medical examinations. An exciting opportunity has been made for a motivated candidate to apply for a role of Breast care CNS band 6, wanting to make a difference to patients with breast related problems.

Main duties of the job
You will be a skilled,expert breast care nurse, and a core member of the Breast unit multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care to patients with breast surgical or oncological issues. You will possess or develop the skills, competence, expertise and clinical decision-making abilities required to co-ordinate treatment for breast patients.
You will provide clinical leadership for the development of integrated patient pathways in the team, which are in line with recognised best practice and evidence base, working closely with stakeholders and care providers.

Job summary
The Clinical Nurse Specialist for the pain-related Complex Cancer Late Effects Rehabilitation Service provides expert assessment, management, education and support for people experiencing persistent pain, functional impairment and other long-term consequences of cancer treatment.
In this role you will work autonomously within the multidisciplinary team, managing a specialist caseload and coordinating personalised rehabilitation and supportive care pathways.
You will deliver specialist clinical care through face-to-face, virtual and telephone consultations, providing comprehensive assessment, triage, care planning and ongoing support.
The role focuses on optimising symptom management, improving function, promoting self-management and enhancing quality of life for people living with the consequences of cancer and its treatment.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the post holder will contribute to service development, education, quality improvement, audit and research activities, supporting the continued growth and evaluation of Complex Cancer Late Effects Rehabilitation Service and promoting excellence in cancer rehabilitation and survivorship services.
Main duties of the job
o Manage an autonomous specialist caseload within CCLERS.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to take on the role of Lead ANNP on a 12-month secondment and play a key role in shaping the future of neonatal and perinatal services at Great Western Hospital.
Over the next 12 months, the successful candidate will support a significant workforce transformation programme to support delivery of BAPM standards and our ambition to achieve sustainable 24/7 ANNP cover. A key focus of the role will be developing and supporting our ANNP workforce through mentorship of trainee ANNPs, facilitating the consolidation of newly qualified practitioners, and creating a culture of learning and professional development.

We are looking for a Band 6 Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapist / Exercise Therapist to join out team on a part-time basis.
The role within a multidisciplinary team is to support patients to exercise safely and effectively following a Myocardial Infarction, Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Valve repair/replacement and Percutaneous Coronary Interventions in community venues.
To provide highly specialized assessment and exercise prescription for patients with complex needs, and to provide exercise advice, guidance, and information.
To provide a specialized resource for other staff and health care professionals.
To take a lead in the provision of exercise prescription and delivering the exercise component of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program in a variety of delivery models.
Main duties of the job
- To assist in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of effective evidence-based exercise, to patients with coronary artery disease, in community venues.
- To carry out individual patient functional capacity assessments using standardized exercise assessment tools recognized by British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR).
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals and maximising independence.
- Develop, review and progress rehabilitation programmes in a range of settings ensuring safe and effective practice.
- Provide specialist advice and education to patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals to support rehabilitation and self-management.

Main duties of the job
Kingfisher Ward is a busy 36-bedded acute medical ward, with an additional two escalation beds that are consistently in use. The ward provides specialist care for patients with acute endocrine conditions, requiring close monitoring, complex clinical assessment, and effective multidisciplinary working. The ward manages a diverse patient cohort within a fast-paced environment and plays an important role in supporting patient flow across the hospital.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in providing effective nursing leadership supporting a team of nurses ensuring the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) code of conduct is at the forefront of the team's nursing care. In addition, the post holder will be required to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of a high standard of individualised patient care,thus improving the patient experience. The position supports a clinical role in addition to assisting in the management of operational issues. The post will incorporate the provision of care to patients, their families and carers' in accordance with the philosophy and standards of care within the clinical area; in line with Trust policies and procedures, ensuring that values and beliefs are upheld.

We are looking for a Band 5 Biomedical Scientist to join our Microbiology Team on a full time basis.
Biomedical Scientists (BMS) are an integral part of the laboratory team responsible for the diagnosis of infection and disease processes by the application of latest scientific knowledge, coupled with the most up to date scientific methods and use of traditional methods where required. BMS carry out, and interpret the results of, laboratory tests on biomedical samples that will aid clinical staff in the diagnoses of illness and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment. Further professional development will be expected, as the post holder works towards a Specialist Diploma in Medical Microbiology.
Main duties of the job
- To interpret clinical details and patient demographic data for the allocation of tests to samples.
- To process biomedical samples using various techniques with a high degree of competency in accordance with standard operating procedures, providing accurate and timely appropriate results.
- To accurately interpret and report timely complex analytical results, and authorise Microbiology reports according to laboratory policy.
- To communicate effectively test results by telephone, printed report or electronic report, deal with telephone enquiries, and provide technical advice to laboratory users.
- To be able to make decisions regarding the quality of specimens and the validity of test data and ensure any anomalies / errors are reported to Senior BMS staff as soon as possible.
- To use complex and technical laboratory equipment in the course of their duties including maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment.
