• Provide a complete medical administrative service including Referral to Treatment (RTT), patient correspondence and editing and formatting letters.

• Liaising with Nurses, Doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team including inpatient and outpatient bookings teams to provide a quality service for the patients.

Applications are invited for a Consultant Radiologist to join a friendly, forward-thinking team of 30 Consultant Radiologists at the Royal United Hospital Bath;

Consultant Radiologist with specialist interest in Chest Radiology (10 PAs).

The post is full time but anyone wishing to work part time is also encouraged to apply. The post includes participation in the evening and weekend and on call rota.

Main duties of the job

This is a replacement post following retirement for a substantive Consultant Thoracic Radiologist.

The RUH will work alongside the existing thoracic radiologists to help deliver the expanding lung cancer service including reporting chest radiographs and CT, performing lung biopsy, and preparing and presenting at the weekly lung cancer MDT meeting. The RUH has a tertiary satellite specialist pulmonary hypertension service, affiliated with The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. Circa 250 referrals per annum are received from around the South West and Wales. The appointee will be involved in reporting CT and MRI for patients with suspected pulmonary hypertension and participating in the weekly PH MDT. There will be an additional requirement to report for and participate in the ILD MDT

An ability to contribute to the cardiac CT +/- MRI service is desirable although not essential. With a specialist cardiac CT list on average at least once a day, the department performs approximately 1200-1400 CTCAs per annum, including CT coronary angiography, aortic valve calcium scoring and TAVI planning scans. The RUH utilises FFRct post-processing analysis as part of the NHSE MedTech mandate.

The Royal United Hospitals Bath (RUH) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and forward-thinking Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our dynamic and highly motivated team of 16 Consultants. This is a 10 PA job with a 1 in 12 on call commitment, covering Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an energetic, innovative and cohesive department that provides comprehensive high risk Obstetric care. The Maternity unit has between 4200 to 4600 delivery a year has received an Outstanding rating in the last 2 CQC inspections. The maternity services consist of 2 midwifery led units, based in Frome and Chippenham and the Consultant led unit within the Royal United Hospital, Bath. The neonatal intensive care unit provides Level 2 care.

The Gynaecology department provides specialist service in ambulatory gynaecology (Polyp resection, Novasure and MVA), urogynaecology, early pregnancy, gynae-oncology (4 consultants), endometriosis and fibroid treatment, reproductive medicine, PAG, menopause and colposcopy. The RUH has 2 Robots in daily use.

The job will be a combination of both Obstetrics and Gynaecology care, both elective and emergency work. The job plan has the potential to be tailored to the specialist interest of the successful candidates. The Consultants provides the out of hours and clinic gynaecological ultrasound service so having a good level of gynaecological and early pregnancy scanning skill is desired. This job will include the lead for the early pregnancy unit.

We are delighted to offer a full-time Trust Doctor (CT1-CT2) position in General Surgery at the Royal United Hospital Bath.

This is a fixed-term one year post commencing from 2nd Dec 2026 and provides an excellent opportunity to gain high-quality surgical experience within a supportive, well structured clinical environment.

This post offers the opportunity to attain competencies and improve portfolios prior to Core Surgical Training applications. The role supports a busy department delivering colorectal, upper GI and emergency surgical activity. This post will be 1:9 on call on the F2/CT rota.

Main duties of the job

Your duties will be primarily care of in-patients and the admission and primary care of emergency cases, including performance of surgical procedures. There will be opportunities to be supernumerary in elective subspecialty clinics or assist in and perform elective surgery according to learning objectives, previous experience and competencies. There is a training programme and regular audit and teaching sessions. On-call duties during working hours cover the General Surgery acute take.

There are 85 beds for General Surgery at the Royal United Hospital. The fourteen Consultants and two Associate Specialists all undertake a wide range of subspecialty surgery including colorectal, benign upper GI / HPB, breast and endocrine. This will be part of a clinical team led by a firm of consultants. The other team members at middle grade level include four Staff Grades, ten Specialist Registrars/Speciality Trainees 3-9. At the more junior tier there are three Core Trainees 1-2, a clinical fellow and two FY2 trainees.

Main duties of the job

Job summary

We are looking for Locum Intensive Care Medicine Consultant to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract that is dual trained in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthetics. Our 560 bed modern district general hospital in beautiful North Wiltshire. Swindon is a rapidly growing town surrounded by glorious countryside. The Great Western Hospital benefits from easy access to the M4 and road connections north to the Cotswolds. There are excellent rail links as well.

There are ample opportunities to grow as a consultant including an in house, cross specialty quality improvement programme (Network and Navigate) and a clinical leadership course linked to Keele University (HELM) with time available to undertake these.

A specialty interest in Intensive Care is essential. For candidates with a second specialty interest, there is an opportunity to combine this. Our current consultants are all anesthetists and they provide elective anaesthesia for a variety of DGH surgical specialties. We actively encourage the development of a specialist anesthetic interest.

Main duties of the job

The Duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service.

Clinical Duties:

• Multidisciplinary team working is key component of the working within the Trust and involves regular MDT discussions with colleagues
• Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care (with secretarial support)
• Development of sub specialty interests that fit in with Division needs and the strategic direction of the Trust.
• Responsibilities for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties are required, and for contributing to undergraduate and post-graduate and continuing medical education activity.
• Provision of cover for Consultant colleagues' periods of leave in accordance with arrangements agreed within Trust policy.
• Participation in clinical audit and in continuing medical education.
• Conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
• The post holder will participate in an out of hours consultant rota, detailed within the job plan section.
