The administration post will be an integral part of the stem cell transplant and cellular therapies service in the Family and Specialist Services Division at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and part of BSW Hospitals Group.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to a busy and highly specialised Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Service. Working closely with the Transplant Quality Team, you will act as a key point of contact for patients, clinical teams and external organisations, coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate patient records, supporting data management and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of transplant services. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple professional groups.

You will also play an important role in supporting quality assurance and regulatory compliance, including contributing to JACIE accreditation activities, clinical governance processes, audits and the maintenance of service documentation. In addition, you will assist with training events, financial administration, reporting and resource management, helping to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care. Odstock ward is a regional burns and plastics department, and part of a national network providing specialist nursing care.

RUH Hospital at Home (RUH@Home) is our consultant-led virtual ward, supporting patients who would otherwise need to be admitted to hospital, or who can safely return home earlier with the right clinical support around them. The Royal United Hospitals Bath (RUH) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and forward-thinking Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our dynamic and highly motivated team of 16 Consultants. This is a 10 PA job with a 1 in 12 on call commitment, covering Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an energetic, innovative and cohesive department that provides comprehensive high risk Obstetric care. The Maternity unit has between 4200 to 4600 delivery a year has received an Outstanding rating in the last 2 CQC inspections. The maternity services consist of 2 midwifery led units, based in Frome and Chippenham and the Consultant led unit within the Royal United Hospital, Bath. The neonatal intensive care unit provides Level 2 care.

The Gynaecology department provides specialist service in ambulatory gynaecology (Polyp resection, Novasure and MVA), urogynaecology, early pregnancy, gynae-oncology (4 consultants), endometriosis and fibroid treatment, reproductive medicine, PAG, menopause and colposcopy. The RUH has 2 Robots in daily use.

The job will be a combination of both Obstetrics and Gynaecology care, both elective and emergency work. The Consultants provides the out of hours and clinic gynaecological ultrasound service so having a good level of gynaecological and early pregnancy scanning skill is desired. Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Great Western Hospital Mortuary and Bereavement Service for Trainee Anatomical Pathology Technician (APT).

The successful candidates will join a small, multi-skilled team and undertake a structured training programme to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies required to become a qualified APT. Working under the supervision of trained and experienced APT staff, the post holder will support the delivery of a safe, secure, effective and compassionate mortuary and bereavement service.

The post holder will assist in ensuring that deceased patients and their families are treated with dignity, respect and sensitivity at all times, in accordance with Human Tissue Authority (HTA) standards, Trust policies and relevant legislation.

Main duties of the job

Support the Mortuary and Bereavement Service in delivering a professional and compassionate service to bereaved families, hospital staff and external agencies. Assist with the admission, identification, dignity and respect, storage and release of deceased patients under supervision. Facilitate the legal documentation, infection status declarations, and other statutory paperwork associated with death certification. Provide support and guidance to bereaved families regarding procedures following a death in hospital or the community. Liaise with clinical teams, the Medical Examiner Service, Coroner's Officers and Funeral Directors as required. Arrange, prepare, and assist with viewings and formal identifications, ensuring that privacy, dignity, and respect are maintained at all times. Assist trained APTs with post-mortem examinations and other mortuary procedures as part of the training programme. Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with Trust and HTA requirements. Participate in training, competency assessments and continuing professional development to achieve APT qualification.

Job summary

The successful candidate will undertake general and specialist analysis of samples received in Blood Sciences, on a rotational basis throughout all sections of Haematology and Blood Transfusion.

These procedures include the analysis and interpretation of complex results which ultimately leads to the production of a laboratory report, which may impact directly on patient care. You are responsible for informing a Consultant Haematologist of any result that may need immediate clinical action.

Main duties of the job

Biomedical Scientists (BMSs) contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing and interpreting a range of scientific procedures on biological specimens using highly complex equipment.

This post operates throughout Haematology and Blood Transfusion, in conjunction with the Biomedical Support Workers. The laboratory is fully UKAS ISO 15189 Accredited and is also an accredited site for HCPC Certificate of Competence and IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Chemistry Training. The department has state of the art equipment with a refresh of major analysers in 2019.

We have Sysmex with Di60 for FBC and Films, Werfen for coagulation and Ortho in Blood Transfusion In 2021 we have installed and gone live with a comprehensive Kelsius Temperature Monitoring System. Early in 2022 we expect to take on a full complement of new Microscopes. Ordercomms is now established for Hospital and GP Users and the laboratory and a major IT upgrade to Winpath Enterprise is underway for implementation in 2022.

Main duties of the job

You will undertake general pharmaceutical duties under the supervision of a Section Manager or deputy, assisting in the provision of a safe and effective Pharmacy service in line with current policies, procedures and legal requirements. You will also:

• Work in the dispensary dispensing prescriptions and provide support to the dispensary manager in the day to day running of the dispensary.
• Work as part of the pharmacy stores team monitoring and maintaining ward stock levels.
• Work within patient services undertaking medicines optimisation duties on the wards, improving the quality of care to patients in a clinical area by means of an efficient medicines optimisation system. This will include assessing patients own medicines ensuring they are suitable for use in hospital and maintaining and ordering non-stock medicines for patients.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assist the qualified Therapists with assessment and treatment of patients on the Acute wards, Emergency Department and other assessment units. The focus is on admission avoidance, early discharge planning and restoring the patients to the highest level of independence. The post holder will complete initial assessments, formulate and implement treatment programmes and advise and instigate on a discharge plans under the guidance of the qualified therapist.

3. To be responsible for assessing the medical fitness of patients before commencing treatment and to communicate immediately with an appropriate professional any change in patients' status or other observations about patient behaviour, ability and response to therapeutic intervention.

4. To assist the Therapists with assessment, treatment and management of patients, including stair assessments, and patients that require more than one person to treat or mobilise.

5. To carry out general clerical, administrative and department duties in support of clinical work and at the direction of the Therapists.

6. To be competent in assessing for and issuing basic equipment to facilitate activities of daily living and mobility. Monitor and maintain ward stock levels
