Our practice serves a growing patient population of approximately 20,500 patients, and we are committed to maintaining high-quality, patient-centred care while continually developing our services.
As our practice continues to grow and develop its services, we are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and forward-thinking Salaried GP to join our established and supportive team. The role is for 6 sessions per week, worked across Monday, Thursday and Friday.
Main duties of the job
Clinical consultations assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients presenting with acute, chronic and complex conditions, through face-to-face, telephone, video and online consultations.
Prescribing and medication management prescribe safely, review medication, monitor high-risk medicines and respond to medication-related queries.
Long-term condition management contribute to the management of diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, mental health and other chronic conditions.
Investigations and results request appropriate blood tests, imaging and other investigations; review results; take appropriate action; and communicate outcomes to patients.
Referrals make appropriate referrals to secondary care, community services and other healthcare professionals, including urgent suspected-cancer pathways where indicated.

Shefford Health Centre is a modern, purpose-built GP practice located on the edge of the historic market town of Shefford in Central Bedfordshire.
