Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation contribution.

The Position
The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health Acute Paediatric Unit, will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care, in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice, works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager and the Paediatric Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care on a designated shift, based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
Responsibilities:
Deliver acute inpatient-based mental health care coordination to paediatric consumers of the service, which includes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, active, therapeutic engagement, monitoring and review of mental state and response to treatments, ongoing psychotherapeutic work using arrange of modalities and techniques, within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), with focus collaboration with family and carers and trauma informed care.
Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill to ensure clinical standards and policies and procedures are met to promote a consumer-focused model of care, according to best practice principles.
Assist the Nurse Unit Manager and the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the management and coordination of resources as required.

The Position
As Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), you will provide expert clinical leadership and consultancy across inpatient and emergency services. This role is pivotal in supporting safe, high-quality care and driving continuous improvement in clinical practice.
Within a safety and quality framework and in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager and Director of Nursing you will:
Deliver advanced clinical expertise and guidance to nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
Lead initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, safety, and service delivery.
Support the development and implementation of clinical standards, protocols, and quality improvement strategies.
Act as a resource and mentor for staff, promoting evidence-based practice and clinical excellence.

You Will Need
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications (desirable)
Advanced Clinical Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in rural health nursing, contemporary nursing issues and the coordination of nursing practice, together with a demonstrated commitment to the understanding of primary health care principles and practice and the ability to apply these requirements in a leadership role within a rural health emergency and inpatient setting.
Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead clinical initiatives, mentor staff, and contribute to strategic planning and service development.
Quality & Safety Focus: Experience in implementing and evaluating clinical governance frameworks, quality improvement programs, and risk management strategies.
Collaboration & Communication: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders in improving care outcomes.

The Position
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will provide leadership within the team in supporting palliative clients in a variety of locations, including home visits to patients and their families, assessing conditions and needs for supports and reporting back to the specialist team.
