Job summary
The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Mental Capacity Act Team Manager will lead Slough Borough Councils delivery of its statutory responsibilities under the MCA and DOLs.
The role manages the DOLS team, provides specialist advice on complex cases, oversees authorisations, quality assurance and service performance, and works with partners to promote lawful, consistent and person-centred practice.

Lead the local authority on policy, procedural and practice issues relating to MCA in general and DOLs in particular.
Possess specialist expertise in MCA and DOLs policy, practice and legalisation and case law and provide expert advice and support to senior managers and frontline staff across Adults Social Care ASC.
Develop procedures and staff guidance to support robust and consistent decision making and innovative practice within ASC regarding MCA.
Develop and maintain effective data management processes and efficiencies within the service regarding DOLs.
Develop and implement a robust quality assurance framework, including auditing in relation to MCA.
Develop and implement a process for quality assuring assessments received from external suppliers.
Ensure detailed advice is provided to adults, or their representatives, external providers on the DOLs procedures.
Represent Slough Borough Council on internal panels and working groups relating to MCA and DOLs also local, regional and national networks.

The Reablement Occupational Therapist supports adults to regain and maintain independence in their own homes. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Reablement and Independence Service RIS. This community based role focuses on empowering individuals to regain or maintain independence in their own homes through strength-based assessments, rehabilitation, and recovery-focused interventions.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team MDT, you'll support residents with a range of needs including physical and mental health conditions, learning difficulties, and age-related challenges. You'll also collaborate with colleagues across the Local Access Point, Locality and Hospital Social work and Discharge to Assess teams to ensure seamless care transitions and effective discharge planning.

Job summary
The Occupational Therapist in the Long Term OT Team, will support adults with complex, long-term conditions and disabilities to live safely and independently in their own homes.
This role holder will manage a specialist caseload, completing person-centred, strengths-based assessments and delivering practical interventions tailored to individual goals.
This includes prescribing and monitoring equipment, promoting assistive technology, supporting safe transfers of care and maintaining accurate clinical records. Working collaboratively with service users, carers and partners across health, housing, social care and the voluntary sector, you will contribute to coordinated care, service improvement and high-quality professional practice, while providing guidance and supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants where appropriate.

Conduct holistic, person centred assessments of service users and carers in their homes.
Manage a specialist caseload involving adults with complex, long term conditions and disabilities.
Develop strengths-based support plans and set SMART therapeutic goals.

Job summary
The Reablement Occupational Therapist supports adults to regain and maintain independence in their own homes. Main duties of the job
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Reablement and Independence Service RIS. This community based role focuses on empowering individuals to regain or maintain independence in their own homes through strength-based assessments, rehabilitation, and recovery-focused interventions.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team MDT, you'll support residents with a range of needs including physical and mental health conditions, learning difficulties, and age-related challenges. You'll also collaborate with colleagues across the Local Access Point, Locality and Hospital Social work and Discharge to Assess teams to ensure seamless care transitions and effective discharge planning.

Job summary
The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Mental Capacity Act Team Manager will lead Slough Borough Councils delivery of its statutory responsibilities under the MCA and DoLs. The role manages the DoLS team, provides specialist advice on complex cases, oversees authorisations, quality assurance and service performance, and works with partners to promote lawful, consistent and person-centred practice.
Main duties of the job
- Lead the local authority on policy, procedural and practice issues relating to MCA in general and DOLs in particular.
