Job summary
We are looking for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join us at Spilsby Surgery.
Our ANP will be an important part of the clinical team, seeing a broad range of patients and using their advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, treat and prescribe independently.
We are looking for someone who is confident in their clinical practice, enjoys the variety that comes with working in general practice and wants to be part of the wider surgery team.
This is an opportunity to join Spilsby at a time when we are investing in the future of the practice. We want our new ANP to have a genuine say in how we move forward and the opportunity to influence and develop the areas of care that matter to them.
Main duties of the job
As an ANP at Spilsby Surgery, you will see patients with a wide range of acute and ongoing health needs, assessing, diagnosing and managing their care independently within your scope of practice.
You will be able to prescribe independently and arrange investigations, treatment, referrals or follow-up as appropriate, working across the clinical team to make sure patients receive the right care for their needs.
Although you will manage your own clinical workload, you will have the wider clinical team around you. We have dedicated clinical discussion time each day and regular multidisciplinary meetings, giving clinicians the opportunity to discuss patients, seek another opinion and share their knowledge and experience.
The role offers plenty of clinical variety and the chance to use your advanced practice skills across the breadth of general practice.
About us
Spilsby Surgery is a rural dispensing practice caring for around 7,250 patients across Spilsby and the surrounding communities.
Our team includes GPs, advanced practitioners, nursing staff, dispensary, care navigation and administrative colleagues, with everyone playing their part in the day-to-day running of the practice.
Working in a rural practice brings plenty of variety. We care for patients of all ages and backgrounds, as well as supporting local care homes and patients who are housebound. Being a dispensing practice also means our clinical and dispensary teams work closely together to support patients with their ongoing care.
Spilsby is a positive and supportive place to work, where clinical and non-clinical staff work together to provide the best possible service for our patients. Everyone has a voice in how we deliver and shape patient care, and we encourage people to share their ideas, experience and perspective as we continue to develop the practice.
The role includes NHS Pension Scheme membership and support for continuing professional development.

Job summary
We are looking for a General Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team at Spilsby Surgery, a rural dispensing practice serving Spilsby and the surrounding communities.
We are proud of the team we have at Spilsby and the supportive, collaborative environment we are continuing to build. Our focus is simple to provide excellent patient care within a practice where people feel valued, supported and able to contribute.
As the practice continues to grow and develop, we are looking for a GP who wants to be part of that development. We want you to feel part of the practice, not simply part of the rota; to bring your own experience and ideas, have a voice in how we move forward and play an active role in shaping the future of Spilsby Surgery.
Main duties of the job
As a GP at Spilsby Surgery, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred care to our varied rural population, working closely with our established clinical team and wider practice staff.
You will manage a varied general practice workload, including consultations, clinical decision-making, prescribing, referrals, reviewing results and correspondence, and contributing to the ongoing care of our patients.
Collaborative working is an important part of how we work at Spilsby. Our clinicians have protected time for daily clinical discussion, alongside regular weekly multidisciplinary team meetings, providing opportunities to discuss patients, share expertise and support one another.
Alongside your clinical work, we want you to bring your own experience, ideas and interests to the practice. Whether developing a clinical interest, contributing to quality improvement or helping us shape and develop our services, this is a role where you can make a real contribution to both the care we provide today and the practice we are building for the future.
About us
Spilsby Surgery brings together a broad multidisciplinary team including GPs, nursing staff, advanced practitioners, dispensary, care navigation and administrative colleagues, with strong links to the wider healthcare teams supporting our local population.
Working in a rural practice offers real variety. Our patients span all ages and backgrounds, and our work extends beyond the surgery through the care we provide to local care homes and housebound patients. As a dispensing practice, we are also able to offer a broader insight into the complete patient journey and work closely across our clinical and dispensary teams.
There is a real sense of teamwork across the practice, with clinical and non-clinical colleagues working closely alongside each other as one team. We value different perspectives and believe that good ideas can come from anywhere within the team.
The role offers NHS Pension Scheme membership and the opportunity to join an established team with the variety and professional satisfaction that comes with being at the heart of healthcare within a rural community.

We are looking for an experienced Primary Care Paramedic to join our friendly and supportive clinical team at Spilsby Surgery.
This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to use your assessment, clinical decision-making and autonomous practice skills across a broad range of patient presentations, both within the surgery and in the community.
You will be joining a practice where Paramedics are an important part of the clinical team, working closely with GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals, with regular opportunities for clinical discussion and shared learning.
We are looking for someone who wants to become part of the practice, not simply fill a role. You will be encouraged to bring your own experience, ideas and interests to the team, continue to develop your career in primary care and play an active part in the ongoing development of our clinical services.
Main duties of the job
The Paramedic will be an integral member of our clinical team, providing assessment and care for patients presenting with both new and ongoing health concerns.
A key part of the role will be helping patients access the right care at the right time. You will assess, treat and advise patients where appropriate, arrange onward referral or follow-up when needed, and work with other members of the team where a different clinical input is required.
The role will also include supporting patients who are unable to attend the surgery, including home visits and working with other professionals involved in their care.
You will be well supported in your day-to-day work, with dedicated clinical discussion time each day and regular multidisciplinary meetings. These provide protected opportunities to discuss cases, seek a second opinion and work together on patient care.
About us
Spilsby Surgery is a rural dispensing practice caring for around 7,250 patients across Spilsby and the surrounding communities. Our team includes GPs, advanced practitioners, nursing staff, dispensary, care navigation and administrative colleagues, working closely alongside each other as one team.
Our patient population is diverse, covering all ages and a wide range of health needs. We also provide care to local care homes and housebound patients, making the work at Spilsby both interesting and rewarding.
There is a strong sense of teamwork across the practice. We value open communication, shared learning and different perspectives, and believe that every member of the team has something important to contribute.
We are continuing to grow and strengthen the practice, with a clear focus on providing excellent patient care while creating a positive and supportive place to work. We want people to enjoy being part of Spilsby Surgery, feel valued for the contribution they make and have the opportunity to grow with the practice.

You will work autonomously while having access to the support and expertise of our GPs and wider clinical team when required.
Clinical responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assessing patients presenting with acute illness, minor illness and other health concerns appropriate to the Paramedic role.
- Taking appropriate clinical histories and carrying out physical examinations.
- Formulating appropriate management plans based on clinical assessment.
- Providing treatment, advice and safety-netting to patients and carers.
- Recognising deterioration, red flags and situations requiring urgent intervention or escalation.
- Referring patients to GPs, secondary care, community services or other healthcare professionals where appropriate.
- Undertaking home visits for housebound patients and others who require assessment at home.
- Supporting the ongoing care of patients where this falls within your competence and scope of practice.
- Reviewing and acting upon relevant clinical information, results and correspondence as appropriate to the role.
- Maintaining clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
- Working with colleagues to ensure patients are directed to the most appropriate clinician or service for their needs.

We expect all members of our team to communicate openly, support one another and recognise when another clinician's expertise or input is needed.
Prescribing and medicines
Where the postholder is an appropriately qualified Independent Prescriber, prescribing will be undertaken within their competence and in accordance with current guidance, local prescribing arrangements and practice procedures.
