Job summary
A full-time substantive Consultant Surgeon is required in vascular access and renal transplant /renal surgery to join the Renal and Transplant Surgical team at St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to support the existing adult transplant surgical service and to improve the delivery of renal vascular access.
The new incumbent will be expected to participate in the existing renal surgical programme. The transplant programme at St George's consists of living and deceased donor (DBD & DCD) renal transplantation and vascular access surgery. In addition to this, the surgical team performs surgical insertion of PD catheters, hernia repair in renal and transplant patients, polycystic nephrectomies, transplant nephrectomies, transplant ureteric reimplantation
Main duties of the job
Transplantation surgery is performed at the St George's hospital site whilst vascular access surgery is performed at both St George's and St Helier Hospital in Carshalton. The unit performs approximately 150 - 160 transplants per annum at St George's and is responsible for the surgical management of approximately 1000 haemodialysis patients across South West London.
The successful candidate will also contribute to medical student audit and clinical research. The new Consultant would be expected to take an equal share in this work. The on call rota runs on a 1 in 7 basis to cover the needs for transplant.
The post represents an exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic, developing renal surgical team. The appointee will join five substantive full time Renal transplant Consultants alongside seven Consultant Physicians as part of the Renal Care Group.
The current job plan is divided between providing surgery at St George 's Hospital and St Helier Hospital as well as providing outpatient clinics at both sites. The post-holder will have an operating list and outpatient clinics at both St George's Hospital and St Helier Hospital. These commitments may change during the tenure of the post as the service is developed, with the agreement from the clinical management team.

Job summary
We are advertising three Consultant Geriatrician posts:
- 1 WTE Consultant Geriatrician, Senior Health post working within the Acute Senior Health Unit (ASHU) and OPAL teams, providing specialist geriatric input to support the assessment, management, and ongoing care of older people with complex needs in the acute setting.
- 2 WTE Virtual Ward Consultant Geriatrician post supporting the delivery of an integrated frailty pathway across acute and community services, with a core focus on the development and delivery of the Hospital at Home model, enabling high-quality care closer to patients' homes.

Main duties of the job
- 1 WTE Consultant Geriatrician, Senior Health post
They will hold clinical responsibility for half of the patients on this 28 bedded ward. With the multidisciplinary team, the appointee will provide Geriatric Medicine and comprehensive geriatric assessment to older adults with frailty admitted to the ward aiming for rapid, safe discharge home through integrated working with the local community trust.
- 2 WTE Virtual Ward Consultant Geriatrician post
These postholders will lead reactive frailty care across St George's and Wandsworth & Merton CLCH (Community Trust) by providing clinical leadership and senior decision-making across a joint caseload. They will be supported by an MDT from a range of professional backgrounds including ACPs, GP, nurses, therapists and admin. The role will complement admission avoidance at the front door through close alignment with ED, Senior Health and Acute Medicine departments including Same Day Emergency Care.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for skilled neonatal trained nurses with excellent communication skills and proven evidence of leading and supporting a team of nurses to deliver high quality care to sick, premature babies. The successful applicant will be expected to work both short and long shifts as well as internal rotation to night duty. You must be NMC registered, in possession of a neonatal and equivalent of assessor qualification and have relevant recent experience at Band 6 level.
The Unit is one of three lead centres within the South London Neonatal Network and a tertiary referral centre for neonatal surgery. It has a large establishment of 150 nurses and support staff, ranging from Neonatal Assistants to Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. The unit has a capacity of 40 cots, 12 of which are intensive care, 12 high dependency, and 16 special care. The unit also provides a neonatal community follow-up service.
This is a rotational post that will cover Special Care , High Dependency and Intensive Care.

At SWLP, The PoCT team manages a wide range of PoCT analysers and devices, connected to POCT middleware systems, across five sites and manages maintenance, training, competency, quality assurance and governance of these pieces of equipment. The SWLP Point of Care Testing department is accredited to the ISO 15189:2022 standard
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced individual to the role of POCT Associate Practitioner for the SWLP network. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of POCT devices and analysers. they will assist the POCT Manager in the implementation of the Trust wide POCT Policy. This includes staff training/competency assessment, e-learning, IT, hardware and software supports, SOPs, audit, stock checks and contribution to accreditation.
Each SWLP site has an engaged PoCT Committee with good representation from users across the hospital. The post-holder will work relatively independently, supported by the SWLP POCT manager, POCT coordinator, BMS/MLA staff and the Principal Clinical Biochemist on each site to deliver and facilitate training on a range of POCT devices and analysers. Given the outward facing nature of this role, the successful individual will need to have significant POCT experience, extensive experience in the delivery and facilitation of POCT training, and good organisational and communication skills.

This is a senior-level post which is suitable for a candidate who has a minimum of 2 years of general surgery experience, including a minimum of 1 year in the NHS UK. Renal transplant and vascular access experience will be an added benefit, but is not mandatory to apply for this post.
The successful candidate will join a team of 5 other doctors working in a middle-grade rota. This includes some at CT and some at ST3+ level and an FY1 in the Department of Renal Transplantation. The main job will be based at St Georges University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Tooting, London. There will be some elective activities at St Helier Hospital Carshalton, London.
The aim of this post is to offer experience in vascular access and transplant surgery. We are doing higher number of access procedures at St Georges and St Helier sites. This includes simple and complex vascular access procedure.
Main duties of the job
The main job will be attending transplant and vascular access clinics, MDTs and theatre sessions at St Georges and St Helier. Depending on experience there will be opportunity to do independent clinics and simple access procedures under consultant supervision.
The applicant will also participate in the pre-operative and post-operative management of patients undergoing renal transplantation and renal surgery. The individual can additionally expect to be trained in transplantation, surgery related to renal failure and the clinical management of transplant recipients.
The individual will attend renal surgical lists at St George's Hospital and St Helier hospital. There are total of 6 theatre lists per week and the post holder will attend these as per rota sharing with other colleagues.
The individual will also share in the clinical work and on-call cover undertaken by the junior surgical staff of the unit.
When assigned to clinical duties, the individual is encouraged to undertake the responsibilities of the team leader befitting a surgical trainee by leading twice daily ward rounds and partaking in a rota that assigns the individual as team leader or ward cover registrar.

Job summary
This is a rotational Band 5 Dietitian role at St Georges Hospital. The role is part of a 6-month rotation scheme in the areas of community, cardiothoracic, gastroenterology, neurosciences/neurosurgery and senior health/acute medicine. Main duties of the job
The post will give you the opportunity to provide outstanding clinical care to women (both perinatal and not related to pregnancy) with pelvic floor muscle dysfunction including urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. You will also assess and manage pregnancy related MSK conditions and assist in covering our postnatal ward service. Education and training are key elements of the department. You will assist on evidence based care and supporting staff development.
About us
Our current services include managing musculoskeletal obstetric and female and male pelvic floor dysfunction outpatient clinics across our three sites: St George's (Tooting), St John's Therapy Centre (Clapham) and Queen Mary's Hospital (Roehampton). Also included is a daily post-natal ward service and perinatal exercise classes. The Pelvic Health team collaborate closely with colleagues of specialist clinics including OASI, sexual health, urology, colorectal, and regional networks.
The Pelvic health team consists of two 0.5WTE Band 8a, 2 WTE Band 7, 1.5 WTE Band 6. The team offers a friendly and supportive environment with weekly in-service training, collaborative clinics and supervision, enabling each team member to flourish and deliver excellent, evidence based, patient centred care. We are passionate about educating and improving awareness of pelvic health, looking for an enthusiastic clinician that shares our service mission:

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job
St George's Hospital is the primary teaching hospital in South-West London and provides all of the tertiary specialities. The St George's Adult Critical Care Directorate has 60 Critical Care beds across three Critical Care Units: General Intensive Care (GICU), Neuro Intensive Care (NICU) and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care (CTICU). This is an extremely exciting time for the Directorate with the construction of a new 20 bed adult ICU currently underway. Successful candidates will work across one or more of these units during their period of employment at St George's and where possible we will accommodate specific unit preferences.
We can accommodate experienced Trainees/Clinical Fellows looking to broaden their experience (including subspecialty experience in Cardiothoracic or Neuro Intensive Care) as well as more junior Clinical Fellows but with a minimum requirement of Registrar level or equivalent or post completion of Core Training in Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine Training, any of the Acute Care Common Stems or Surgery.
Duties and responsibilities will be commensurate with the individual candidate's experience and are overseen by consultant intensivists at all times. The experience gained will be beneficial to trainees wishing to pursue a wide variety of career aims.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced dietitian to join our team of 3.0wte Paediatric Gastroenterology Dietitians, to expand their skills in the area of paediatric dietetics. We require a motivated and innovative dietitian with good clinical skills and a broad knowledge in the area of paediatric dietetics. You will have good interpersonal skills and an ability to work well as part of a team.
This is a maternity leave cover for 12 months. The post is 0.6wte Band 8a but will consider a 0.8wte Band 7 dependant on experience and skillset.
The post offers an excellent opportunity to gain further experience in a wide range of general and specialist paediatric dietetics with an emphasis on gastroenterology. The trust is a specialist centre for paediatric gastrosurgery and you will be working closely with our 3 consultant gastroenterologists to provide care for neonates and children with Short Bowel Syndrome, IBD and other gastro-related disorders. You will also gain experience in other specialist areas such as neonatology, PICU, ketogenic diets, allergy, diabetes, neurology, oncology, trauma. Additionally, you will also work as part of a larger team of dietitians in this busy London teaching hospital.
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the Paediatric Dietetic team at St Georges Hospital. You will be a clinical lead responsible for the nutrition and dietetic management of inpatient and outpatient paediatric gastroenterology including intestinal failure, and surgical inpatients under the care of the Women and Children's Service Delivery Unit.
To lead the Paediatric gastrointestinal specialist dietetic team at St Georges Hospital and be responsible for providing high-quality care to our gastrointestinal patients, following evidence-based practice, being an active multidisciplinary team member and educator, developing nutrition policies and guidelines, and participating in audit and research to improve health outcomes and develop the role and service.
Clinically this post works within the Intestinal Failure and gastrosurgery team covering inpatient parenteral nutrition and home parenteral nutrition, offering both an in and outpatient caseload. It is clinically responsible for leading the team of paediatric GI dietitians who work across medicine and surgery and operationally manages the paediatric GI dietetic team.

Investment in facilities includes automated dispensing in our large main dispensary, which covers inpatient, outpatient and home delivery services. We have four satellite dispensaries, attached to specialist areas to promote efficient dispensing. Omnicell cabinets are used in the Emergency Department and Major Trauma Ward, supporting automated pharmacy services on ward level. The aseptic unit holds of a "Specials" Manufacturing Authorisation (MS) licence by MHRA.
Main duties of the job
Our band 7 pharmacists support discharges through transcribing and non-medical prescribing in most of our rotations. Rotations include antibiotics and infectious diseases, critical care, haematology and oncology, paediatrics, surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, acute and specialist medicine, cardiology, cardiac surgery, technical services, clinical trials, and patient services. There is the exciting opportunity to participate in a secondment to the island of St Helena.

As the TB outreach worker, you'll be part of St George's Hospital TB team, supporting patients and their families with complex social needs throughout their TB treatment. Job summary
At St George's, Occupational therapists work in specialist multi-disciplinary therapy services that have a strong focus on patient experience and continual improvement. The post offers the opportunity to be part of a friendly, dynamic and forward-thinking teaching Trust. We are looking for a dedicated occupational therapist who is motivated and keen to develop their clinical specialist knowledge and skills.
This role is a rotational post on the Band 6 Acute Occupational Therapy Rotation at St Georges Hospital. The rotation covers: STAR (A & E), Specialist Medicine, Cardiac & Renal, Infectious Diseases, Hand Therapy, Amputee Rehab, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Ortho-Geriatrics, Senior Health, Vascular & Surgery.
As a Band 6 OT you will benefit from peer support and supervision programmes and have access to multi-professional clinical specialists in a range of specialist areas. You will have opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills and knowledge.
You will also be encouraged to be involved in service development, research and audit, and supervise both students and Band 5 occupational therapists.
Main duties of the job
Deliver Occupational Therapy within acute medical wards and outpatient services, including assessment, treatment planning, and management of own caseload.
Provide clinical oversight and guidance to junior staff and students to ensure high standards of patient care.
Assess complex acute medical patients, interpreting diagnosis and prognosis to inform care.
Develop and implement treatment programmes and support early discharge planning following acute interventions.
Communicate sensitively with patients and carers, managing expectations in complex or distressing situations.
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, contributing to decision-making and sharing complex information.
Liaise with community services to support discharge, ensuring continuity of care and appropriate equipment provision.
Participate in a 7-day therapy service, including weekend working on a rota basis in relevant rotation - incl. Medicine, STAR (A & E), Trauma and Orthopaedics/Plastics and Neurosciences on an approximately 1 in 6 roster with compensatory rest days.

Main duties of the job

Job summary
An excellent training opportunity has arisen for a clinical fellow to join the Cardiac Surgery department at St Georges University Hospital.
The post holder will work alongside ten registrars and join six members of junior medical staff. The unit has eight consultants.
The Unit prides itself on providing first class teaching and training for its junior staff and medical students. There are teaching sessions or MDMs every morning of the week. In outpatients, juniors are encouraged to assess new patients, and in theatres they are supported and encouraged, substantially increasing their operative experience.
We expect all our staff to share the values that are important to the Trust, being Excellent, Kind, Responsible & Respectful, and behave in a way that reflect these.
Main duties of the job
- Caring for inpatients and outpatients
- Attendance in Cardiac Theatre
- 1:6 on call
- The individual is expected to take an active part in all the departmental academic audit meetings.
- The post holder will, along with Consultant and registrar colleagues, contribute to the provision of Cardiac Surgical services to St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, including;
- diagnosis and treatment of patients of the Trust in such hospitals, clinics or other premises as is required.
- continuing clinical responsibility for the patients in his/her care.
