Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for the post of part-time Mental Health Act Administrator within the Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and flexible individual prepared to acquire a working knowledge of the operation and application of the Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA) and related legislation to work as part of a small, close knit team in this extremely busy department, dealing with a complex specialised area of work.
You will report to the Head of MHA and MCA and be a member of the Mental Health Legislation Team. You will be based in The Redwoods Centre, Shrewsbury, however may on occasion be required to work and provide cover at St George's Hospital, Stafford.
On a day to day basis you will deliver, maintain and promote operational compliance with statutory legislation in respect of the administration of the MHA, safeguarding and promoting the rights of some of our most vulnerable patients.
You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a methodical and flexible approach, the ability to work under pressure and a keen eye for detail. You will also be confident in dealing with professionals at all levels both internal and external to the organisation, place a great deal of importance on accuracy and have the ability to work as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include:
the checking, acceptance, processing and administration of Mental Health Act documentation;
organisation and co-ordination of patient appeal and renewal hearings;
maintenance of accurate computer and manual patient related systems;
shared management of the departmental generic email boxes;
deal with queries from ward staff and other professionals with regard to any aspect of paperwork in relation to the Mental Health Act, including Section 17, Consent to Treatment and Second Opinion documentation.
You will be expected to acquire a full working knowledge of the legislation relating to patients' detentions and become conversant with the duties of other posts within the Department. You must be willing and able to undergo training and development on an ongoing basis to achieve the required standard and knowledge.

- Respond to telephone queries by patients or relatives regarding any correspondence which may have been sent to them in relation to the Mental Health Act
- Authorised on behalf of the Trust Board to accept Mental Health Act documentation during normal working hours, ensuring paperwork is legal, valid and correct and that service users rights are observed at all times

Main duties of the job

As a Service Delivery Specialised Services Administrator, you will support healthcare services through the administration of IT procurement and NHS Registration Authority (RA) services.
You will coordinate the procurement of IT hardware, software, telecoms services and related equipment, working with suppliers, customers and internal teams to ensure services are delivered efficiently and in line with organisational processes. The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Business Support Officer (BSO) to join their Mental Health Support Team (MHST). The role is a permanent one and you will be working 37.5 hours a week, based at Severn Fields Health Village. You will need a full driving licence and access to a car insured for Business Use as this role requires you to be able to travel between sites and community locations as needed.
The MHST provides early intervention within schools to support children and young peoples' mental and emotional wellbeing.
As the BSO, you will establish and maintain a business support infrastructure necessary to assist the Service Manager, Team Managers and Performance Manager in meeting the Trusts objectives and targets. This will include the development of systems and processes to monitor performance against the Trust's Key Performance Indicators (Quantity & Quality). We are looking to recruit a band 2 activities co-ordinator who has a passion for enabling engagement through activities. The post involves working with service users within an adult mental health ward.
We are looking for an individual who has knowledge, experience, and motivation for engaging people who require mental health inpatient care. The role will be focussed on providing a broad range of activities on a group and 1:1 basis to enable service users to engage in opportunities which actively support their recovery and transfer into a less restrictive setting. You will contribute to the delivery of an evidenced based service by working with the Multidisciplinary Team, other service providers, service users, carers and families, to provide an effective client centred service.
Main duties of the job
You will provide formalised support and practical assistance to service users in order for them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery process. The aim is to engage and provide activities to service users on the ward that promotes recovery as part of the therapeutic day. Activities will focus on delivering social, recreational and leisure opportunities. The post holder will work as part of the ward based team and work collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Activities will take place within the ward environment, but may where appropriate take place in the community or hospital grounds. You will liaise closely with registered staff on service user issues and will receive clinical supervision from the ward based occupational therapist.

We are seeking a Telephony/Receptionist to undertake a wide range of duties including call handling and reception duties for a Secure Forensic Unit and corporate Trust HQ, along with administrative support.
As the first point of contact for the Trust, you will be responsible for providing a positive customer service experience; directing callers, visitors, colleagues to the most appropriate service for ongoing care, support and advice, of which some calls can be highly distressing.
You will be part of the Out of Hours District Nurses call handling service, acting as the first point of contact for all messages; this will include urgent calls, queries and referrals for the community District Nursing service in North and South Staffordshire. The post holder will be required to identify and forward urgent calls and enquiries, some of which may be complex and sensitive, direct to the triage nursing team in line with established processes - this includes RAG rating the calls as they come through and assigning to the wait lists.
This is role is working routine shifts, however you must be prepared to cover other receptionists when they are on annual leave/ sick leave, by taking on their complete duty at short notice including night duty.
Main duties of the job
All Telephonists/Receptionists will be required to have a general understanding and ability to carry out all tasks below however, some tasks may not be required at all locations:
- Receive and deal with general reception enquiries; this may include listening and responding to information requests or queries and enquiries and directing staff, service users, visitors, contractors, self-presenters etc as appropriate.
- First point of contact in the event of a medical emergency, psychiatric emergency and Fire; responsible for sending out bleeps via the Multitone system, monitoring and co-ordinating timely responses and follow on actions (i.e. Fire).
- Responsible for initiated set processes in relation to staff safety and lone working i.e. District Nursing personal alarms and OOH Doctors On Call.
- Responsible for the centralised taxi booking service, working collaboratively with taxi and courier companies.
- Process returned mail; this may be of a sensitive and confidential nature.

Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Community Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry to join the Stafford Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) based in Stafford.
This role is part of a functionalised model in which patients requiring inpatient care, crisis or home treatment have their care temporarily transferred to the relevant pathway.
You will provide leadership to the team as part of a collective leadership structure and offering support and supervision as required to the Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Non-Medical Prescribers.
You may be responsible to supervise a trainee and there are also opportunities available in the Trust to participate in postgraduate and undergraduate education for Junior Doctors and medical students from Keele Medical School
You will hold acaseload of approximately 90 of which many will have other clinicians in the IMHT working with them. The team is made up of 2.6wte Psychiatrists, 1.0 Advanced Clinical Practitioner, 6.8wte Nurses, 2.0 Nursing Associate, 1.8wte Occupational Therapists, 2.0wte Psychologists, 2.0wte Psychological Therapist, 2.0 Clinical Associate in Psychology, 4.0wte Healthcare Support Workers 0.8 Peer Recovery Worker and 1 Team Manager.
All Consultant Psychiatrists are supported in developing their ways of working within the MPFT Living Our Values Framework.
You will take part in out of hours duties; on call work is remunerated at 3% as well as 0.25 APAs.
Main duties of the job
As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide medical leadership within a collective leadership model.
As part of this role, you will be expected to:
- Ensure, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, regular effective review of the care of patients in the clinical pathway - via individual assessments and follow up appointments, MDT meetings and sometimes the Care Programme Approach (CPA) review, particularly where the complexity requires it.
- Be the Responsible Clinician for service users in the pathway who are subject to Community Treatment Order (CTO) where applicable
- Provide evidence based care
- Be recovery focused
- Provide cross-cover (emergency and prospective) for other Consultant Psychiatrist colleagues by mutual agreement
- Communicate with all key partners in an appropriate and timely way including service users, carers and General Practitioners.

Job summary
To offer an extended service to ensure an appropriate assessment of mental health need for CYP in mental health crisis and in need of appropriate intensive support ensuring the delivery of safe and effective practice as part of the CYP wellbeing and recovery action plan. The post holder will work directly with children and young people with mental health needs and their families, carrying out assessments (including risk management) and effective treatment and/or interventions, with the aim of helping children and young people participate in normal family and community activities and to facilitate positive outcomes of care in relation to young people's mental health needs. The role will also facilitate hospital admission avoidance and seamless transitions between services where appropriate.
They will also be expected to work flexibly within the Team to support a crisis, brief intervention and intensive support function. Dependent on skill and service need they will need to be available to external professionals and carers to offer advice, signposting and guidance (especially in relation to urgency and risk) associated with children and young people's mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Potholder will provide assessments and interventions for CYP as part of the MDT for those experiencing severe to moderate mental health conditions.
Mental Health, Children's and LD Nurses and those with a social work background are encouraged to apply.
Main duties of the job
The assessment of need and delivery of safe and effective interventions for CYP and families in their communities and in places of safety, working to avoid hospital admission and manage complex risks, in accordance with recognised clinical guidance.

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community Mental Health Services within North Shropshire Locality.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly developing, dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team delivering an enhanced offer in partnership with colleagues to older adults who are experiencing an functional mental illness. You will work collaboratively with service users, carers, and partner agencies to promote recovery, independence, and quality of life.
Working in a multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with internal and external agencies, you will;
- Provide specialist assessment and care planning in conjunction with wider community services, service users and carers
- Evaluate treatment plans
- Triage and assess referrals received by the service in liaison with multi-disciplinary colleagues
- Co-ordinate the work of the Team
- Take responsibility for managing a caseload.
Main duties of the job
- Take responsibility for the management of a complex caseload, which includes, specialist assessment, care planning in conjunction with service user and carer, evaluation of individual treatment plans
- Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including the auditing, monitoring and reviewing of practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.
- Administer medication (Nurses only), complying with relevant Trust procedures and NMC Guidance
- Assess patient's individual care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
- Deliver a range of interventions in accordance with the agreed plan of care and pathway guidance including; pharmacological and psychologically informed interventions.
- Complete and contribute, where appropriate to robust risk assessments and risk management plans. Deliver and promote positive risk taking, where appropriate, to improve quality of life and maximise occupational performance/independence.

Job summary
The successful candidate will have experience of working in acute or community mental health and be able to contribute to the assessment, implementation and delivery of high-quality therapeutic mental health patient care within the Home Treatment Team. This will include delivering mental health care in line with coproduced care plans under indirect supervision of qualified members of staff. You will be required to work independently with patients, for which you will receive regular supervision. The successful candidate will also be supported in their professional development.
If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].
As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Main duties of the job
There is a requirement to work a shift pattern that provides a service 7 days a week 365 days of the year.

The post holder will work within an integrated mental health team to carry out assigned care delivery to improve patients mental wellbeing and promote recovery.
The post holder will work with carers and relatives ensuring they are supported and offered carers assessments. To support carer's views and observations to be included in the mental health assessment and treatment of their loved ones.
The post holder will support physical health care for clients on the caseload and will engage in the completion of checks and report findings to wider team for action where required.
The post holder will support individuals to engage with voluntary and peer support services promoting community support and reduction in isolation.

Main duties of the job
As a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP), you will be involved with opiate substitute treatment (OST) interventions, benzodiazepine reductions, alcohol and opiate detoxifications and relapse prevention medications. You will also provide support for health care assessments, administering detoxification medication for clients, administering pabrinex , completing alcohol and opiate detoxification assessments, providing Blood Borne Virus (BBV) screening and vaccinations and will work closely with mental health, physical health and social care services. Youll also help to create a collaborative approach that links Turning Point ever closer to outside professionals and agencies.
You will attend a local prescribers meeting, one to one clinical supervision and national prescriber/clinician meetings which will also support your learning and continuous professional development. Full training and supervision is provided from our Clinical Services Manager and Clinical Lead. You will have a real opportunity to help shape service delivery and contribute to delivering clinically excellent services.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join RDaSH as a Community Phlebotomist as part of a newly created team. The phlebotomist will work closely with the community services and visit housebound patients in their own home or care home to collect venous blood samples and or samples and take basic observations when required. under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse.
