Job Summary
The post holder will provide a portfolio of general medical services; including managing a clinical team, managing a caseload or managing specific Groves Health wide project, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients, ensuring clinical effectiveness and quality. Key Responsibilities:
Management of Patient Health & Illness
- Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate.
- To analyse and interpret history, presenting symptoms, physical findings and diagnostic information to develop appropriate differential diagnosis.
- To prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately, including initiation of effective emergency care.
- To formulate an action plan based on scientific rationale, evidence based standards of care and practice guidelines.
- To use National, Community / Public Health assessment information and guidelines, when evaluating patient needs, initiating referrals, co-ordinating care and programme management.
- To develop and utilise a follow up system within the practice to ensure patients receive appropriate services and evaluate same.
- To provide counselling concerning drug regimes, side-effects and interactions and - if legally authorised - prescribe medication based on efficacy, safety and cost, from the appropriate formulary.

The role:- This is a varied role which will give you the opportunity to have exposure to different parts of Reception/Administration on a rotating basis within a busy GP surgery. Some of your duties will include:-
- Booking telephone appointments with patients
- Managing the incoming email inbox and patient requests
- Responding to patient queries via the Practice website dashboard
