Job summary
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced senior people professional to join the NHS Wales community and work across the NHS Wales system with employers, Welsh Government, trade union partners and key stakeholders.
The role will act as a key contact for collective workforce issues, coordinating and representing Health Boards and Trusts in influencing and developing workforce policy.
Responsibilities include horizon scanning emerging issues, assessing their impact and determining appropriate action; representing Welsh employers in UK discussions on pay, pensions and terms and conditions; communicating emerging policy; and project managing complex negotiations.
The postholder will provide expertise on employment policy and good practice and coordinate the development and review of workplace policies, guidance and position statements in partnership with employers, trade unions and Welsh Government.
The role will provide impartial workforce advice and support, particularly to Chief Executives and Directors of Workforce & OD, while facilitating effective relationships between key stakeholders to support workforce policy and good practice.
Main duties of the job
The Role
An exciting opportunity to take on a senior national role within NHS Wales, providing leadership, advice and representation on workforce and employee relations matters. The successful candidate will lead the NHS Wales Employers' remit, representing employing organisations on NHS terms and conditions, workforce policy and strategy.
Working closely with NHS Wales Directors of Workforce and OD, Welsh Government and the Welsh NHS Confederation, the postholder will influence workforce policy and support effective engagement across NHS Wales.
The Person
We are seeking a compassionate, highly motivated and experienced Director with a strong track record in Workforce, People or OD. Experience within health, care or related sectors is desirable, alongside the ability to drive cultural change, strengthen employee relations and develop innovative approaches to workforce policy, pay and reward.
You will be a credible and collaborative leader, able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and empower workforce teams to deliver NHS Wales' strategic priorities.
Experience of the NHS Wales system is desirable, but applications are welcomed from experienced Directors across the UK. The role is available through direct appointment or secondment from a UK NHS organisation.

Job summary
The Senior Implementation and Engagement Officer will support delivery of the Perinatal Equity and Anti-Discrimination Programme (PEADP), a national programme commissioned by NHS England to address racism and discrimination in perinatal services across England. Programme delivery is led by the Observatory in partnership with Advancing Quality Alliance (Aqua), Inspiring Hope, and White Ribbon Alliance UK.
The role will coordinate defined workstreams, act as a key contact for participating Trusts, manage engagement logistics, monitor attendance and engagement data, and prepare programme documentation and reports. Main duties of the job
In the role, you will:
- Keep key programme workstreams moving at pace by coordinating actions, timelines, meetings and high-quality programme documentation.
- Build trusted relationships with participating Trusts, providing clear updates, responsive support and a positive, accessible engagement experience.
- Work closely with Trusts, delivery partners and colleagues to coordinate arrangements, resolve routine issues and escalate risks early.

The Community Engagement Implementation Manager will play a key role in leading the delivery and coordination of community engagement activities as part of the Perinatal Equity and Anti-Discrimination Programme (PEADP), a national programme of work commissioned by NHS England to address racism and discrimination in perinatal services, being rolled out in 158 maternity and neonatal sites across England. Reporting to the Head of Implementation, the postholder will lead the delivery of PEADP community listening and engagement activities and contribute to the Observatorys wider community engagement strategy. Working closely with Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) leads, Trust community engagement leads, and community organisations across England, they will deliver activities using anti-racist and trauma-informed approaches. This work will deepen understanding of the experiences and outcomes of minoritised communities in maternity and neonatal services and inform improvements in care led by NHS senior leaders participating in the programme. Main duties of the job
As the Group Head of Rostering and Resourcing, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for rostering and resourcing and services across Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group.
Working closely with senior leaders, you will lead the development and optimisation of rostering and resourcing systems, ensuring the effective deployment of staff to support safe, high-quality patient care and an excellent staff experience.
You will drive transformation, productivity and service improvement initiatives, using workforce data and intelligence to identify opportunities. The role will provide expert advice on rostering, resourcing and workforce planning matters, helping managers and leaders make informed decisions that enhance our operational effectiveness.
The postholder will oversee governance, reporting and assurance processes, ensuring compliance with national standards, legislation and best practice. Delivering efficiencies and ensuring value for money.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence to significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Pilgrim Hospital is situated in beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.
Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.
