Job summary
We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team.
The successful candidate will participate in the registrar on call rota, covering both gynaecology and obstetrics. This will include delivery suite cover and acute gynaecology and early pregnancy. We operate a 1 in 8 on call rota including nights and weekends.
Day time activities include endometriosis clinics, chronic pelvic pain clinics, general gynaecology and occasionally rapid access. In addition, there will be protected opportunities to be in theatre with the endometriosis and oncology team, including robotic theatre. Protected time will be allocated weekly for any project or management work the candidate might be interested in and we have a range of large scale audit projects to be involved
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic doctor to join our dynamic team of resident and trust grade doctors.We hope this will be a good opportunity to work in a busy, tertiary unit. Giving the candidate unique experiences in oncology, endometriosis, urogynaecology and fetal medicine.This role will support the tier 2/3 rota for the on call portion, and part time during the day to help with service provision and training in theatres.

Participate in on call cover on a 1 in 8 rolling basis. Support day time activities including clinics, day case procedures and theatres. There will also be many opportunities to engage in departmental audit, teaching and risk management. Our theatres routinely run 3 session days into the evening. Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, engaging and committed individual to work in Newcastle Hospitals trust. This post is designed to suit an individual with an interest in HPB and Transplant Surgery who is looking for a broad experience in HPB, Liver, Kidney and Pancreas transplantation.
The senior trainee will have completed core training and will have passed MRCS, in addition the candidate needs to have experience of HPB surgery at Core Trainee or Specialty Trainee level.
You must have full GMC registration at the time of application. Previous NHS experience is essential (this does not include clinical attachments or observerships).
This post is to commence October 2026 for 12 months.

This post is attached to HPB and Transplant surgery based in the Freeman Hospital. The individual will work on the ST3+ tier and as such be expected to perform duties and take clinical responsibility to this level.
The Freeman Hospital is unique in the United Kingdom in hosting the Institute of Transplantation which brings all aspects of solid organ and cell transplantation under one roof. The post holder will be able to gain experience in liver, kidney, pancreas, multivisceral, autoislet and alloislet transplantation as well as experience of specialist HPB, neuroendocrine and sarcoma surgery. Multiorgan retrieval, as part of the National Organ Retrieval Service, is delivered by the team as well. Some of the team also specialise in Robotic surgery and exposure, as well as acquisition of skills, in this specialist area is also available. If successful, the applicant will be asked to outline which areas they would like to focus on during the Fellowship.
Specific components of this post
The individual will co-ordinate the rota for the nurse practitioners and other junior doctors to ensure coverage during working hours. Delivery of night time cover is co-ordinated through the Hospital @ Night team. We expect the post holder also to gain skills in organ retrieval through attending procedures during their contract period, although this is dependent on other members of the team and experience level.
The candidate will make themselves available for theatre and clinical sessions to gain operative and management skills.

This directorate has a strong research pedigree and many ongoing clinical and scientific research projects. Job summary
Applications are invited for this post, which will provide training in all aspects of spinal surgery including adult, paediatric, spinal sarcoma, deformity and acute disorders as well as providing opportunities for research into spinal disorders.

Previous experience of Spinal Surgery is essential and applicants must possess part 2 FRCS (or equivalent). The duties of the post will be adjusted to suit the particular experience and training requirements of the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
These posts are created to provide training in all aspects of spinal surgery and opportunities for research in spinal disorders. The balance of the post can be adjusted depending on the requirements of the appointee. For a senior appointee advanced training in adult and paediatric spinal surgery will be available including spinal deformity from both an orthopaedic and neurosurgical perspective as well as Spinal Sarcoma training. The post can be adjusted to provide more basic training in orthopaedic spinal surgery with additional sessions for research into spinal disorders.

This less than full time (8 PA) substantive post provides an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated clinical geneticist with a broad based training in all areas of clinical genetics to join the Northern Genetics Service. A candidate with an interest in paediatric and fetal genetics would be desirable. The post-holder will be part of a large multidisciplinary team of clinical and laboratory staff with administrative and managerial support who provide a co-ordinated genetics service to a population of 3.1 million people in the North East of England and Cumbria; and highly specialised services for people affected by limb girdle muscular dystrophies in the wider UK population. The Service is part of the Directorate of Integrated Laboratory Medicine.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will share responsibility for the delivery of the clinical genetics service as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of consultant clinical geneticists, trainees and genetic counsellors working in close collaboration with the North East and Yorkshire Genomics Laboratory Hub (NEYGLH). The appointee will be expected to enable delivery of a genomic diagnostic service through participation, where required, in Specialist MDTs and specialist clinics for diagnosis and management of people with rare genetic disorders. Outpatient Clinics will be provided at the Institute of Genetic Medicine, RVI and other regional clinic sites, to be agreed as part of a team job plan. There is no formal on-call commitment in this post.

The regional Children's Holistic Integrated Palliative Care Service (CHIPS) is seeking an experienced, compassionate and highly motivated Nurse Specialist to join our expanding multidisciplinary team. The CHIPS team delivers specialist palliative care across the North-East and North Cumbria forbabies, children and young adults (BCYA), and their families, with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, at the Great North Children's Hospital, we are a welcoming and supportive multidisciplinary team. This opportunity is for a dedicated individual with a passion for caring for BCYA and their families who may be receiving treatment with curative or palliative intent, be on an active transplant waiting list or be in the terminal phase and require end-of-life and bereavement care planning.
The Nurse Specialist will be expected to work autonomously, as part of the CHIPS multidisciplinary team as well as wider regional/national multidisciplinary teams. Delivering high-quality, holistic care alongside evidence-based assessment, advice, treatment, education and support to BCYA, their families, and other professionals across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The role also offers development opportunities for both professional and service development, and the CHIPS team has access to specialist support from the psychology service
Main duties of the job
- Providing specialist paediatric palliative and end-of-life care across home, hospice, hospital and community settings.
- Provide specialist nursing support for complex clinical decision-making.
- Facilitate sensitive conversations with patients and families, including advance care planning and end-of-life discussions.
- Working in partnership with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that the care delivered is of the highest standard.
- Acting as a specialist nursing resource for symptom management and palliative care, monitoring and evaluating the effects of prescribed treatments, adjusting medication within agreed protocols in conjunction with the medical team.

An opportunity to apply for the post of Assistant Directorate Accountant has arisen within our Financial Management Team.
The Assistant Directorate Accountant will work as part of the Financial Management team to ensure the accurate and timely provision of financial information, support and guidance to the Trust's Clinical Boards.
The Financial Management team are responsible for the monthly closedown, variance analysis, reporting and forecasting, as well as providing business support to managers, including high quality financial information and analysis to meet their financial objectives throughout the year.

Main duties of the job
This is a key role with responsibility for providing financial support, advice, & guidance and ensuring that financial controls are maintained within Corporate Governance guidelines.
The team produce monthly management accounts to enable accurate monitoring and forecasting of the Trust's financial position, enabling budget holders and the Trust to make well informed financial decisions.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Consultant in Haematology to join our friendly and enthusiastic team at the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). An enthusiastic and forward-thinking consultant will work within a supportive team covering North Cumbria.

Main duties of the job
The post will be based at the Cumberland Infirmary but working as an integrated service covering West Cumberland Hospital. The successful applicant will complement our team of existing haematologists and nurses, together providing level 2A Clinical Haematology care for NCIC patients.
About us
The team currently consists of Consultant Haematologists who are based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle Monday to Friday. On call cover is currently provided as a joint rota through an SLA with colleagues from neighbouring Trusts.
We have a strong nursing and administrative team who support the medical team. There is a Haematology laboratory on both the Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital sites.
Clinical leadership is provided by Dr Roderick Oakes. The Clinical Director of Pathology is Dr Clive Graham, Consultant Microbiologist.
Outpatient facilities are provided on both the Cumberland Infirmary site and the West Cumberland Hospital site.
Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides Oncology, parenteral chemotherapy and radiotherapy services via a combination of on-site and remote cover, including at the newly purpose-built Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbria, on the Cumberland Infirmary site, and at the Henderson Suite within West Cumberland Hospital.
A Radiotherapy Department is based at the Cumberland Infirmary.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and forward thinking Pharmacist to join our Paediatric Oncology service at the Great North Children's Hospital. This role forms part of a wider reorganisation of oncology pharmacy services, including the establishment of a Senior Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Paediatric Oncology, to strengthen clinical pharmacy support across paediatric cancer pathways.
We are seeking an experienced pharmacist ready to work at an advanced level within a specialist tertiary children's hospital. The successful candidate will provide high quality, patient-centred clinical pharmacy input, supporting the safe and effective delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT), including clinical trials, and contributing to the multidisciplinary care of children and young people with cancer.
Working closely with the Senior Lead Clinical Pharmacist, the postholder will support the development of advanced clinical services, contribute to service improvement, and play a key role in the evolving paediatric oncology pharmacy model.
Based at the Great North Children's Hospital on the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) site, the service provides comprehensive regional paediatric oncology care, including inpatient and day case SACT and clinical trial activity.

Job summary
Mechanical Engineering Services (MES) is a technical engineering consultancy and manufacturing service, provided as part of the Rehabilitation Engineering and Aids for Living (REAL) unit, within Northern Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering (NMPCE).
The service offers 2D and 3D design facilities, coupled with manufacturing capability in support of a number of Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals clinical services and other internal and external stakeholders. There is a significant amount of collaboration with the Regional Technical Aids Service (RTAS), in delivering bespoke equipment solutions to suit the needs of individuals living with complex disabilities.
The Clinical Technologist's role incorporates the design, manufacture and installation of mechanical solutions for service users, working closely with partner services, especially those providing assistive aids and wheelchairs to patients.
Activities include the modification of, or the initial manufacture of items to customer specification, research support, prototyping and production of single items, or small batches utilising the latest technologies and materials.

Main duties of the job
We are currently seeking a suitably qualified, capable and motivated engineer or technologist, to join the team based at the Freeman Hospital, to support the delivery of our services, which include assessment of need, problem solving, risk analysis, design, manufacture and documentation.The successful applicant will be educated to degree level in an engineering or science-related subject or equivalent (e.g. a HNC or HND qualification with in-depth, relevant experience), with specialist knowledge of engineering design, materials and manufacture, including a proficiency in milling and turning, utilising both manual and CNC machine tools. Experience of fabrication and TIG welding is desirable, although training provision is available to the successful candidate if required.
In addition, if not already registered or eligible for registration, the post holder will be required to complete the IPEM Clinical Technologist Training Scheme, resulting in professional registration as a Clinical Technologist with either the RCT or AHCS, with training available to support achievement.
This is a demanding but rewarding role, requiring excellent technical awareness, communication, planning, organisational and interpersonal skills. Experience in the application of a range of IT packages (Microsoft Office, Databases, 2D / 3D CAD Modelling) is essential, as is a full valid UK driving licence, as regular region wide travel is a remit of the role.

Job summary
We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well-integrated team within the Community Child Health department.
Our medical team consists of 6 Consultant Paediatricians and we also have Paediatric Speciality Trainees working within the team. We work alongside Nurse Specialists for Children in Care, Autism, Epilepsy and Bladder and Bowel Health. We also work very closely with the Children's Community Nursing team and allied health professionals including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Dieticians.
This post is full-time. Candidates who wish to work part-time or job share are welcome to apply. Candidates should possess GMC registration with a license to practice at time of application and have experience of working within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
The core roles and responsibilities of the post will be holding regular clinics to provide Initial Health Assessments for Children in Care and Child Development Clinics for children presenting with or requiring follow up for developmental differences. It will also include providing medical advice for children where there is an application to the local authority for an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Once trained, the successful candidate will be expected to work independently in clinic with regular opportunity for case supervision and discussion as needed from our senior team. You will be working at ST1-2 equivalent level.
