Job summary
An exciting opportunity for a consultant post for 12 months within the endometriosis team. The post-holder will be required to provide the full range of Gynaecology skills such as attending Gynaecology Endometriosis MDT's, having independent Gynaecology outpatient clinics and theatre lists. It is essential that the post holder should have an ATSM in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery.
The post holder will provide continuing responsibility for patients in their charge and will work within a team based structure to support care across both hospital sites. He / She will be a member of the relevant divisional, trust and regional committees. He / She will also be expected to participate in the immediate management functions and strategic planning of the Division and Trusts on both sites.
This post is based at University Hospital of North Midlands. Clinical Duties will be across both the Royal Stoke and County Hospital Sites.
You will participate in the Gynaecology on-call rota.
Gynaecology 1:12 Weekday on-call and 1:12 weekend Gynaecology rota.
Main duties of the job
We are an accredited Endometriosis centre with both laparoscopic and robotic operating. You will be required to attend the Gynaecology Endometriosis MDT's and deliver independent Gynaecology outpatient clinics and theatre lists to support the waiting lists. There will work in a team of 3 endometriosis consultants.
It is essential that the post holder should have an ATSM/SITM in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery. Additional leadership roles will be part of the post.

Locum Consultant Neurologist - Fixed Term (7 months)
Applicants are invited to apply for the general locum consultant Neurology posts, a specialist interest is desirable. You will join an established team of Consultant Neurologists in helping to deliver a General and Subspecialty Neurology service within the North Midlands and beyond.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our existing team who provide general and sub specialist patient care at our Neurosciences Centre of Excellence. The Neurology out-patient and in-patient services are supported by a dedicated Neurology Ambulatory Care Unit (NACU) which provides day-case services and we also offer a video telemetry service, supported by our Neurophysiology Department.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will be expected to provide expert patient assessment in the diagnosis and management of all neurological conditions in both in-patents and out-patient settings. They will be required to actively engage in and develop Neurology services and to provide clinical leadership to others. A flexible approach will be required to working for our Trust, due to multiple site working. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to skills to provide new ways of working across different professions, organisations i.e. community/primary care.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Cardiologists with a specialist interest in Heart Failure, to join the Cardiology department at UHNM for 6 months.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver General Cardiology and Heart Failure clinical services . The candidate will be expected to have substantial experience in clinical cardiology. An academic profile is desirable and participate in the general, cardiology on call rota, currently 1:11.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting time to join the cardiacteam at UHNM and to develop the service for a large population, at a time of great opportunities to improve care. The appointee will be joining a team of supportive colleagues including 4 heart failure consultants, 9 EP/device consultants, 3 imaging consultants, 11 structural and coronary intervention consultants and 2 inherited cardiac conditions consultants, the unit also has 1 academic consultant post attached to Keele University.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality specialist service within the Trust, working collaboratively with Consultant colleagues and taking responsibility for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients referred to the specialty.
It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical competence and an ability to communicate that competence to patients, other clinicians, practitioners, and junior staff.

Staffordshire Children's Hospital is part of UHNM which has two sites: Royal Stoke University Hospital, located in Stoke-on-Trent, and County Hospital, located in Stafford. The Staffordshire Children's Hospital is based at the Royal Stoke site, all inpatient services for children are there. Outpatient clinics run at both sites.
The Paediatric Department is one of the largest in the country with a number of sub speciality areas receiving tertiary care referrals. The Trust has a purpose built Children's Centre comprising of inpatient wards, Children's A&E and admissions unit and outpatients department adjacent to the Child Development Centre. The Child Health Directorate provides a wide range of services encompassing acute paediatrics, paediatric and neonatal intensive care, outpatients and community paediatrics. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly regarded team, working in collaboration with existing Consultants and within a wider multi-professional team.
As part of an enthusiastic and well trained team you will work alongside the Consultants, Specialist Registrars, Speciality doctors and Clinical Nurse Specialists. Post holder will rotate to between RSUH and County hospital.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will be a member of a team of 13WTE Consultant Oncologists, 2WTE Consultant Medical Oncologists and 11WTE Consultant Haematologists delivering a comprehensive Oncology and Haematology service to the population of North and South Staffordshire and South Cheshire.
There will be service commitments in the Cancer Centre at both Royal Stoke University Hospital and the County Hospital site. The Oncology Department has some commitment to Undergraduate teaching, and you will be expected to participate in this, as well as Postgraduate teaching and training.

Job summary
UHNM are looking for a Specialist Grade Doctor in Breast Imaging to work in both the screening and symptomatic service. The successful candidate will be supervised by 3 Consultant Radiologists (3wte) with mixed involvement in the symptomatic and screening breast service who, together with 5 breast surgeons, provide a first class service. The Breast department supports the National Breast Screening Programme for a population of 107, 000 ladies equating to screening 34,000 per annum.
The Radiologists work alongside a Consultant Radiographer, 2 part time Clinical Specialists, 6.6wte Advanced Practitioners, 10.9wte Radiographers and 6.6wte Assistant practitioners in Breast. Consultants are actively involved in training registrars and advanced practitioners and we would expect the candidate to contribute to this once confident in their clinical practice. Support can be provided to candidates who are interested in obtaining entry on to the Specialist Register via a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (Portfolio).
Any applicant who is unable, for personal reasons, to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
A flexible approach will be required to working for our Trust and applicants must hold a valid driving licence as travel will be an essential part of the role.
Main duties of the job
At UHNM the breast radiologists work closely with their colleagues in Surgery, Histopathology and Oncology through cancer MDT's and joint clinico-radiological conferences. Breast MDTs are established, with cover in rotation between all the radiologists. The MDTs are a full sessional commitment with approximately 110 cases discussed at the main meeting and 30 cases discussed at an additional core biopsy MDT.
The Radiology services are based on a strong ethos of Quality Assurance, Audit, Evidence and Research. The Breast Radiologists are currently recruiters for 10 national and international multi-centre studies, with grants for 2 local trials in progress. Areas of recent service improvement include both ultrasound and stereo Magseed localisation, expansion of the VAB service, establishment of high-risk breast cancer screening and the addition of Tomosynthesis. We have recently set up a Contrast Enhanced Mammography service within the 2 week wait breast clinic and are in the early stages of setting up a breast MRI biopsy service.
The appointed candidate would be expected to engage with the Imaging Department service delivery including:
- Cross-site working at the County Hospital
- Working independently to cover symptomatic and assessment service as well as sharing in MDT
- Maintain high standards of diagnostic accuracy, patient safety, and infection control
- Supervision and teaching for junior doctor and advanced practitioners in their training

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at UHNM to join the dynamic team of Respiratory Consultants working at our Royal Stoke and County sites. UHNM is a regional centre for interstitial lung disease, cystic fibrosis and non-invasive ventilation, including complex home ventilation and weaning services, and is part of two MNDA approved care centres.
The successful candidates would ideally have a specialist interest in ILD, Cystic Fibrosis or Sleep & Vent (although other Specialist Interests would be considered) and complement the expertise of the 21 Respiratory Consultants, 8 SpRs, 2 NIHR recognised academic fellow posts, and 25 Clinical Nurse Specialists working across the Respiratory Medicine Department. The department provides both an inpatient, outpatient and day case Sleep & Ventilation Service, Interstitial Lung Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, Lung Cancer, Pleural Procedures and General Respiratory services across both our sites.
Main duties of the job
The Respiratory Department is the regional centre for interstitial lung disease, cystic fibrosis and non-invasive ventilation, including complex home ventilation and weaning services and part of two MNDA approved care centres. There is an established lung cancer screening programme. The Asthma service has recently been approved to provide biological treatment for severe disease. The Respiratory Department consists of 4 Respiratory Wards with 119 inpatient beds, including a 26 bedded Acute Lung Unit with 16 NIV beds, 2 Respiratory Physiology Departments over 2 sites offering a range of lung function tests. A Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Respiratory and General Medicine is required.
The successful candidate will complement the expertise of the 21 Respiratory Consultants, 10 SpRs and 31 Clinical Nurse Specialists, working across the sub-specialities. The department provides both an inpatient, outpatient and day case Sleep & Ventilation Service,
Interstitial Lung Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, Lung Cancer, Pleural Procedures and General Respiratory services across both our sites.
