Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for six Trainee Psychological (Cognitive-Behavioural) Therapists to join Berkshire CAMHS Getting Help Services through the NHS England-funded Children and Young People Psychological Training Programme. One 12-month fixed-term post is available in each Berkshire locality: West Berkshire (non-HCAS), Reading (HCAS), Wokingham (HCAS), Bracknell (HCAS), Windsor & Maidenhead (HCAS) and Slough (HCAS).
Trainees will deliver CBT to young people and families under supervision while completing a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT at the University of Reading. On completion, trainees will be eligible to apply for BABCP accreditation and qualified CBT Therapist roles.
Please see the essential criteria to ensure you are eligible to apply. Candidates who have previously completed Health Education England-funded training (e.g. a low-intensity programme) must have completed this at least two full years before the CBT training start date. Evidence of previous training (e.g. a certificate) will be required before interview.
Applicants required to complete a Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) portfolio must submit this before interview, following instructions provided to shortlisted candidates. Successful completion of the KSA is required for any job offer. KSA feedback cannot be provided to candidates who are unsuccessful at interview.
Main duties of the job
- Clinical Assessments: Under supervision, work towards independently carrying out comprehensive psychological therapy assessments, utilising National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommendations.
- Treatment Planning: Under supervision, and in collaboration with service users and their families and carers, formulate personalised evidence-based CBT treatment plans, in line with level of completed training.
- Individual and Group Therapy: Under supervision, work towards independently conducting individual and/or group therapy sessions using CBT approaches, utilising and tailoring interventions to address a range of mental health concerns.
- Supervision and Training: Participate in a structured training programme, and actively participate in supervision sessions, to ensure high-quality clinical practice, incorporating feedback into clinical practice to improve effectiveness.

- EITHER: Graduate qualification and professional registration/accreditation in a core profession as defined by British Association or Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), (e.g. Practitioner Psychologist registered with HCPC, Registered Mental Health Nurse with NMC, Occupational Therapist registered with HCPC, or Social Worker registered with Social Work England). Job summary
TalkPlus is recruiting a High Intensity Trainee CBT Therapist within our NHS Talking Therapies service.
This is a training role combining clinical practice with academic study. The successful candidate will undertake a BABCP-accredited Level 2 High Intensity CBT course at the University of Reading whilst working within the service to provide high intensity interventions to clients experiencing common mental health difficulties.
The role includes two days per week at university and three days per week in clinical practice, including participation in an out-of-hours clinic. The post holder will work with people from diverse backgrounds and be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Successful completion of the programme will enable you to meet the training requirements to apply for BABCP accreditation as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.
Applicants must either hold a BABCP recognised Core Profession or meet BABCP Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) requirements. KSA applicants must have completed the required portfolio before interview.
Applicants who have previously completed NHS-funded PWP training, must meet current NHS England eligibility requirements. A minimum of two years must have elapsed since the exam board date of any previous NHS funded training. Applicants who completed PWP training in 2025 must provide their exam board date within their application. To be eligible for this intake, the exam board date must be on or before 23 February 2025.
Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

Join the main ultrasound department at Royal Berkshire and put your specialist skills at the centre of a service that truly values professional and patient-centred compassionate care.
You'll use your expertise to independently perform and report a wide range of scans, working within a team where clinical excellence is the standard.
Our sonographers are supported by our lead sonographer, a practice educator as well as a team of RDAs and radiologists.
We are proud of our preceptorship which provides a framework for sonographers to progress to 8A.
The department is accredited by QSI and is fortunate to be a University of Reading department showing our commitment to patient care and research.
Main duties of the job
Performing and range of ultrasound scans within the main radiology department (please note, obstetric scanning is not performed within the department).
Reporting findings and making appropriate recommendations.

- To provide health promotion advice to children and young people in care and their carers on issues such as sexual health, contraception, smoking, diet, exercise and other relevant issues.
- To be responsible for a caseload as delegated by the Specialist Nurse for children and young people in care.
- To participate in the wider children and young people in care team training function regarding the health needs of children and young people in care in conjunction with the lead specialist nurse.
- In conjunction with the wider children and young people in care team, undertake audit, interpret data and use findings to enhance clinical practice.
- Contribute to Inter agency assessments and where appropriate, analysis of risk.

Our service has an exciting opportunity to join the Mental Health Support Team on the Isle of Wight as a Recruit to Train Trainee, training on the PGDip Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment for Children and Young People (High Intensity) Course, part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded Recruit to Train Programme in partnership with University of Reading. This is a 12 month fixed term post starting in February 2027.
The post-holder will carry out clinical work in our service to complement their studies and use their newly developed skills. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic mental health practitioners to work and train within our service. The training post will equip the post-holder to provide interventions for children, young people or families using evidence-based intervention consistent with the course they are attending.
The Mental Health Support Team is a 3-way collaboration and works in partnership with the IW Youth Trust and Barnardo's. In this role you will be line managed by the NHS but will work as 1 team with colleagues from Barnardo's and IW Youth Trust. We are a school based early intervention and prevention service, working with mild to moderate emotional and mental health difficulties providing CBT to children and young people aged 0-18 and their families who are experiencing emotional health and wellbeing difficulties.
Main duties of the job
The course you will be completing at the University of Reading as part of this role is a Level 2 accredited course with BABCP. Upon completion trainees will meet criteria to apply for provisional accreditation as a CBT therapist with BABCP

In line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the 'Recruit to Train' Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) therapist role is an exciting opportunity for experienced mental health clinicians to develop their clinical skills and deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.
This post provides the opportunity to complete the Children and Young People Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP-IAPT) post graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) that is being run in collaboration with the University of Reading. Successful candidates will be employed on a full-time, fixed-term, 15 month contract with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidates will study at the University of Reading, learning how to deliver CBT interventions for young people with anxiety or depression. They will also be working within one of our MHSTs for the duration of the one-year university course and would split their time between attending university teaching days and carrying out clinical work within their teams. After successful completion of the course, the fixed term training contract will end. However, applicants would be encouraged to apply for any vacant posts within the service.
Main duties of the job
Location: To be confirmed on offer of appointment, however bases will be within one of the Hampshire CAMHS geographical areas:
*Mid North: Basingstoke, Hook and Odiham, Alton and Petersfield and surrounding areas, Andover and Winchester, Meon and surrounding areas
*West: Eastleigh, Romsey and District and New Forest and surrounding areas
*South East: Fareham, Havant and Gosport and surrounding areas

The CBT course provides a thorough and robust cognitive behavioural theoretical base with particular focus on the protocols with the soundest evidence. In addition to providing practical, intensive and detailed skills training to facilitate skill development to a defined standard of competency, the course will aim to increase trainees' knowledge base of theory and research in CBT and to promote a critical approach to the subject. It will aim to equip trainees to become skilled, creative and independent CBT practitioners who appropriately value and adhere to treatment protocols with fidelity. We provide a BABCP level 2 postgraduate diploma in CBT.
The training involves teaching blocks as well as weekly teaching and supervision days at the University of Reading. Applicants must be willing and able to travel.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an Advanced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Berkshire West CAMHS Specialist Community Team (SCT) to cover Reading and Wokingham and when needed, Newbury.
CAMHS SCT provides a responsive, formulation led intervention for children and young people experiencing complex mental health difficulties or needing urgent and/or intensive specialist support. The service develops an early, holistic understanding of each young per by coproducing formulations with them, their families and key professionals across education, social care and the voluntary sector. This shared approach clarifies the young person's difficulties and the systemic factors influencing their presentation and creates the best care plan to meet their needs.
You will join a team of clinicians from various disciplines to provide assessments, care-coordination, and evidence-based psychological interventions to young people and their families. As a senior member of the team, you will be supporting and supervising less experienced and junior members of the team.
This role is a 12 month FTC and we are looking for someone full time. The hours are 9-5pm and you will be based at Erlegh House, University of Reading with free parking on-site.

We are seeking to recruit a 10PA post for a Consultant Cellular Pathologist for the Royal Berkshire Hospital as part of Berkshire/Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS) Network.
The appointee will be required to be medically qualified and to have broad experience in diagnostic histopathology and cytopathology. It is expected that the appointee will hold Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists or show evidence of equivalent training and experience. The appointee will join the existing team to provide specialist care to thisgrowing population of patients and raise departmental profiles through teaching and education.
The aim of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Cellular Pathology service is to become a leader in the field of Cellular Pathology management and the successful applicant must therefore have the pre-requisite procedural and leadership skills as well as team work, drive and ambition to succeed in achieving these goals.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced, practical and flexible Estates Mobile Technician (Multi-Skilled) to join our Estates team based at Erleigh House, Reading. Main duties of the job
- To deliver a high-quality trauma-informed mental health service to children and young people across Berkshire.

The Cellular Pathology department has a vacancy for experienced BMS in the Histology section at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust based at the Whiteknights campus at the University of Reading.
Applicants for this post must be well-motivated HPC registered Biomedical Scientist and have a minimum of two years' post registration experience or equivalent. Specialist portfolio required or started.
We are looking for an experienced, competent and versatile individual with proven experience in Immunohistochemistry, frozen sections and all aspects of routine Histology. Experience in specimen dissection would be an advantage but not essential as training would be given.
Applicants will be required to undertake a practical test as part of interview process.
We are an IBMS accredited training laboratory and support training for Specialist portfolio if started will be given.
The post is full-time 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (the department is about to undergo consultation for extended day/weekends in a shift pattern and would be an expectation to participate for the successful candidate).
There will be a practical element required at interview so all candidates must be able to attend face-to-face (Teams interviews will not be considered).
Main duties of the job
Provide complex and sensitive information, in the form of test results, to clinicians, nursing staff and appropriate others, overcoming any barriers to understanding and ensuring that due regard has been given to the significance and urgency of such results.
Transmit highly complex information to colleagues, including less experienced staff & staff undergoing training, in order to ensure an understanding of all techniques employed and the highly complex equipment used in the analysis of Pathological samples.
Analyse and interpret test and other data involving complex facts in pursuance of service needs and to benefit the patient.
This is a busy department, having merged with Wexham Park Hospital histology department into a facility located at Harborne House, White knights campus, University of Reading.
Workload combined is around 55,000 for histology and 5,000 NG.Performing a wide range of Immunohistochemistry techniques.
We have full UKAS accreditation. ISO 15189:2022.

Job summary
Join Berkshire CAMHS Getting Help Services and help deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychological care to children and young people with anxiety and related mental health difficulties.
Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will undertake specialist assessments, develop formulation-led care plans, deliver evidence-based interventions, and contribute to effective risk assessment and management. You will work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and partner agencies to provide coordinated, psychologically informed care.
As a senior clinician, you will provide supervision, consultation, teaching, and training to junior colleagues, trainees, and the wider team, supporting service quality and professional development.
Initially, you will work within a specialist team delivering interventions for young people with anxiety disorders, OCD, BDD and tic disorders. Over time, you will move into a Berkshire locality Getting Help Team, providing evidence-based interventions for a range of mild to moderate mental health difficulties, including mood disorders. Children & Young People's Wellbeing Practitioner Trainees, CAMHS (training posts) in West and East Berkshire - Fixed Term 1 year
We are looking to recruit to 12 training posts; based across the Getting Help East & West Service, Neurodiversity Team (Autism Assessment Team) and (AnDy) Anxiety and Depression in Young People Research Clinic.
Locations: Reading, Bracknell, Slough, Maidenhead, Wokingham, Thatcham
The Getting Help Teams deliver Initial Assessments, Evidence-based, psychological interventions for children and young people presenting with anxiety, depression, and some behavioural difficulties including neurodivergence. This community-based service is placed within the Getting Advice and Getting Help groups of the THRIVE framework (http://implementingthrive.org/) and therefore works closely works closely with partner agencies in the community including both statutory and charity organisations to support children, young people, and their families.
Candidates will need to be ready to start academic training in February 2027 at the University of Reading (UoR). Interviews will be held jointly with the UoR and successful candidates will be required to complete the application form for a place on the Graduate/Postgraduate Diploma in Brief Evidence-Based Psychological Interventions for CYP with Common Mental Health Problems course.
All successful candidate will be committed to a learning agreement.
HCAS will be dependent on the base allocated.
Main duties of the job
The role of the trainee Children's Wellbeing practitioners is to provide brief evidence-based and CBT informed interventions for children and young people who are presenting with mild-moderate anxiety, low mood, and behavioural difficulties in the community or those waiting for an autism assessment or who have already received a diagnosis of Autism.
