Job summary
We have an opportunity for one fixed-term Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to cover existing maternity leave within the department.
The Post is 36 hours per week, in our Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team.
We would like you to join us and depending on your skills, we have available sessions into our in-patient, stroke and ENT/voice services, across South Tyneside and Sunderland.
You will join our well-established Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) service and will work mainly in acute and / or out-patient settings. You will be a key part of our service and will have opportunity to develop your skills in working with people with a wide range of voice, speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties. As a team we work together to provide the best service we can whilst striving to develop staff who are our key asset to improve patient outcomes. You will have excellent support and will be encouraged to develop your clinical skills and may also be involved in instrumental assessment clinics. You will be keen to drive services forward as we change and develop. You will align to our vision and values which include using research and innovation to improve patient care.
Main duties of the job
The Adult team provides SALT across South Tyneside and Sunderland.
You will:
- demonstrate proven clinical expertise and experience in working with adults with a range of speech, language, voice, communication and swallowing difficulties
- have excellent prioritisation, communication and team working skills
- have excellent training and presentation skills
- be keen to work within a large, forward-thinking department which is embedded in a successful Therapy Services Directorate
- have a proactive and flexible approach to problem solving and caseload management to ensure we take the service forward to support care across acute and community settings
- be able to meet the travel requirements of this post.

Job summary
C14B is a busy surgical ward, looking after a variety of conditions from liver resections to cholecystitis. We currently have 17 beds and have a broad range of patients who deserve to receive high quality nursing care. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working and flexible nurse to join the team. We care for patients who are electively undergoing surgery and emergency patients both HPB and colorectal. We are the regional speciality area for HPB surgeries and take patients requiring surgical/specialist interventions from Blackpool and the Fylde Coast, South Lakes and Lancaster.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the safe, personal and effective care delivery to complex surgical patients, who require support from a wide range of nursing interventions, based on their individual needs. This will be ascertained following a detailed assessment of the patient on transfer to the ward either from the emergency surgical unit, theatre or critical care.
You will be responsible for between 5 and 8 patients usually, with medication administration, wound care, recognising deteriorating patients and acting accordingly, methods of specific analgesia such as PCA and epidurals, pre and post op care as well as managing patients stepping down form critical care. You will also be responsible for organising your shift working alongside one of our HCA's delivering care to your patients meeting their needs in relation to the activities of daily living such as mobility, skin integument, hygiene and nutrition. Please note this list is not exhaustive and being able to work under your own initiative and be responsive to the changing needs of the patients and the ward is important. You must be able to prioritise care accordingly.

Job summary
Required to work at any location at any time throughout the duration of their contract within the RDaSH footprint or set out under terms of their contract. Travel outside the RDaSH footprint may also be required. The base for this role at the time of advertising will be Kimberworth Place, Rotherham.
The post will be working in both generic CAMHS and ADHD.
Most of the clinical work will take place at the central clinical base. However, the post holder will be required to undertake assessments elsewhere, for example, Paediatric Wards, A &E, schools, GP surgeries, occasional home visits. Expectation is that 60% or more of work time is spent onsite.
The postholder will cross cover for non-Consultant doctors for annual leave etc.
The postholder will also contribute to writing repeat prescriptions and checking blood results.
There is a dedicated ADHD Team, led by an ADHD Specialist Prescribing Nurse. You may spend some time each week supporting the ADHD post diagnostic nursing team in prescribing and monitoring ADHD medication.
The postholder will attend one of the weekly Clinical MDTs, chaired by the Consultant Psychiatrists.
Main duties of the job
o The post holder will be expected to provide appropriate care to patients within the Rotherham area mainly through working closely with the multidisciplinary team through the assessment and treatment of appropriate patients.
o Provide consultation on individual cases where psychiatric opinion is needed to members of the Rotherham multidisciplinary CAMHS team.
o Attend a weekly CAMHS MDT Clinical Meeting, in which the above patients are discussed.
o Attend multiagency meetings and Team around the Child etc as required.
o Provide medical support to the Nurse-led ADHD team. This will include prescribing and monitoring ADHD medication, alongside the ADHD nurses.
o Patient contact will take place mainly in outpatient clinics but may also occur in other community settings including A&E or paediatric wards at Rotherham hospital. Appointments may also occur remotely via MS Teams or sometimes by telephone.
o Provide on-going monitoring and pharmacological treatments in ADHD, depression, OCD, etc.
o All practice will be supervised by a senior doctor or a specialist prescriber.

Main duties of the job
The Patient Flow Coordinator plays a vital role in the Operations Delivery Centre, requiring prior experience in emergency services (or equivalent), ideally within a control room (or call centre) environment.
The primary responsibility is to optimise the flow of operational ambulance resources by analysing data from the Hospital Handover and Fleet Barriers Dashboards along with other performance metrics, while maintaining accurate handover data quality.
Key duties include real-time communication with ambulance crews via radio and telephone, interpreting the Resource Availability Dashboard, and working collaboratively to remove barriers to patient care. The role supports the principle that no patient should wait unnecessarily for an ambulance and contributes to efficient hospital handovers and movement of our fleet of ambulances.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Officer, the coordinator works closely with HALOs, Operations Offers, Community Response Coordinators, and EOC staff and many of our partner agencies.

An exciting opportunity has risen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Reactive Emergency Assessment Community Team (REACT) as a Senior Registered Nurse. The REACT team is a multi-disciplinary integrated community service within ESNEFT incorporating OPAT (Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotics Therapy), OOHs (Out of Hours) and Virtual Ward pathways patients.
Our team delivers excellent patient focused care to patients in the East Suffolk community. Could you be a valued key member of our team? We will offer an individually tailored induction, training and support for the successful candidate.
The role involves travelling throughout East Suffolk delivering acute care in patient's home as a part of REACT nursing team, both during core hours and out of hours. The post holder will be working in an internal rotation. The successful candidate will be expected to work a mixture of shifts that include the following: 11-11 triage shifts, early (0800-1600), late (1500-2300), twilight (1800-2300) and night shifts (2230-0830) including weekends and bank holidays as the service requires. During out of hours between 18:00-8:00 the Nurse will be accompanied with a Health Care Assistant. Pool cars are accessible for staff to use and it is essential that post holder has valid driving licence.
Main duties of the job
In this role, during the core hours, teams' main responsibilities include working in partnership with the OPAT (Outpatient Parental Antibiotic Therapy) to administer intravenous antibiotics via PICC line or cannula for patients receiving antibiotics in community. Core hours will also include assessment and delivery of care to patients in crisis to allow admission prevention. During the out hours main responsibilities include routine and emergency response to wound care, catheter care for all types of catheters, diabetic care, End of Life care, Anticoagulant medication, Pressure Area care, Venepuncture and Sub cut Fluids in order to ensure 24 hours Nursing care cover in community. You would be liaising with District nursing service to ensure continuity of care and another community services where needed.
The role will also include being the shifts team lead, triaging and co-ordinating case load, scheduling visits, carrying out appraisals and clinical supervision for more junior staff. Part of this role is also to support senior management in daily running of the team and promoting change. Job summary
Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
A position has arisen for a full-time band 6 Emergency Liaison Practitioner (37.5 hours pw), to work with the S-CAMHS Emergency Liaison Team, based at White Valley Centre, St Cadoc's Hospital. The ELT team is part of the CAMHS Emergency Pathway, along with the Crisis Outreach Team, and the Intensive Support and Engagement Team (ISET).
Main duties of the job
The ELT aims to work intensively with families, young people and other agencies in order to provide person centred assessment at times of psychiatric emergency. The provision is currently 7 days per week. We work closely with young people and other agencies pre-crisis, and post crisis, using a range of therapeutic approaches and interventions, aiming towards preventing suicide and managing psychiatric risk. The post will require the successful applicant to deliver skilled and robust emergency assessments for young people and families. The post is open to qualified clinicians with significant post-registration CAMHS experience.
The post-holder will develop and deliver evidence based emergency assessments, and will be required to work closely with families, across a range of clinical settings. The post holder will be required to respond to calls from professionals who contact CAMHS via our consultation line, seeking advice. The post holder will also be required to offer evidence based follow up work with young people experiencing extreme psychological distress. The successful applicant will possess a range of evidence based therapeutic skills, and will be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a multi agency and multi-disciplinary way.
The successful applicant will be prepared to work out of hours, and on weekends, according to service needs.

Job Summary
The Adult Preoperative Assessment Department provides a service for all adult elective surgical patients attending Chelsea and Westminster Hospital West Mid site, as well as patients seen at other hospitals who are to have surgery here.
Patients are referred from all areas of the UK and abroad.
The team comprises specialist Nurses, Consultant Anaesthetists, Health Care Assistants.
To function effectively, the team members require clinical information about patients that is not always readily available in the hospitals patient notes. This information is vital for appropriate assessment of risk and to allow patients to proceed to surgery as safely as possible.
Obtaining this information in a timely manner is the core function of the role.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be required to promote best practice according to the Trust's Access Policy and will be expected to promote and utilise all relevant Trust Policies related to the fulfilment of the role.
- Where required, to liaise with GP practices, other hospitals and other departments to obtain medical records and patient information to ensure POA can safely clear the patient for surgery, or ensure they are treated prior to being cleared.
- To oversee the administrative aspects of the clinic supporting the lead for Pre-assessment.
- Ensure that all required information including medical records are ready for relevant clinic running that day
- Ensuring that all patient requirements have been catered for (e.g. transport, translators etc.)

This is a post suitable for a newly graduated cardiac Physiologist. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide a wide range of invasive and non- invasive cardiac investigations. The department also provides a respiratory service performing overnight oximetry, 5-channel sleep studies, spirometry, FENO testing and full lung function testing. Main duties of the job
- The post holder can tailor their role within the team by agreement with the manager according to their own interests and balanced with the needs of the service. i.e, echocardiography, pacemakers and/or respiratory diagnostics.
- Undertake ambulatory monitor application including ECG, BP and event recorders. Ensuring device is appropriately applied and optimal recording gained.
- Download and analyse recordings, make comprehensive reports and take appropriate action without immediate supervision.
- Perform full lung function testing, reversibility studies, overnight oximetry and produce appropriate and technically accurate reports.
- Ensure maintenance, calibration, and general care of respiratory equipment.
- Perform medically supervised and cardiac physiologist led ETT, monitoring and assessing recovery. Perform same within Nuclear imaging and exercise.
- Become competent in head up tilt testing, managing equipment and reporting findings.
- Monitor and record hemodynamic measurements during cardiac catheterisation.
- Assist with the implantation of a range of cardiac devices. Perform post implant checks and optimal programming for the specific individual under the supervision of the lead cardiac physiologist

Job Summary
Join us as a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist, in our exciting SEND Therapy Service in West Essex.
We are looking for a Childrens Speech and Language Therapist to work with early years and school aged children, in their educational settings and their home, as part of our Special Educational Needs (SEND) Therapies team.
You will have the opportunity to work hybrid between visits to local schools and completing virtual sessions from home on a full or part time basis. The role has core hours during school times (with the occasional out of hours for meetings with school staff or parents) with the option to complete your additional hours flexibly.
As you will be visiting local schools as part of your role, a driving license and access to a vehicle is essential
Bulk of core clinical delivery to take place within school hours and education term dates, however service needs not to be exclusively term time only, with clinical and administrative work for school holiday periods to be discussed and agreed with SEND Therapies Manager. Post holder may be required to support Community Therapy service, if appropriate.
Caseload agreed with SEND Therapies manager, with time allocated for clinical delivery, training, travel, CPD, meetings and supervision, appropriate to role and geographical team.
Main ResponsibilitiesYour key responsibilities will be:- To manage own delegated caseload of SEND children independently across a variety of predominantly educational settings.
- To work with parents/carers, education colleagues, the multidisciplinary team and the wider childrens workforce to provide a co-ordinated approach to childrens speech, language and communication needs, as part of their EHCP provision.
- To assess and formulate treatment plans in collaboration with parents, carers, schools and other professionals, write assessment reports, provide appropriate intervention and evaluate treatment outcomes
- To support the service to meet key performance targets and contribute to agreed service development.
- To work in partnership with other agencies in order to meet local and national objectives as agreed with commissioners and SEND Therapies Manager.
- To supervise and allocate work to assistants, SLT students and less experienced therapists, when required.
- Has a registered HCPC registration in Speech and Language Therapy
- Be a registered with their professional body (Royal College of SLT)
- Driving licence and access to vehicle
- Strong interest in the field of paediatric speech therapy
Experience with the following client groups is desirable:
- Hearing impairment;
- Developmental Language Disorder;
- Complex needs
- Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), including Makaton, light-tech and high-tech AAC;
- Autism, Down Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay.
