Job summary
The Physiotherapy department at Kings College Hospital is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the rotation of Band 6 physiotherapists, specialising in respiratory care across inpatient settings. The in-patient respiratory team is split into 3 teams, each with their own Clinical Leads Physiotherapists. The teams are Critical Care, Respiratory Medicine and Cystic Fibrosis.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure a high standard, efficient and effective physiotherapy assessment treatment and intervention for all patients designated to them. They will prioritise, assess, treat and manage their own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner, including the maintenance of comprehensive records.
They will work as an effective team member, communicating appropriately with patients, carers and other team members as require, as well as teaching and developing Band 5 physiotherapists, students, and physiotherapy assistants within the respiratory teams.
The post holder will also take part in the on call, weekend and Twilight rotas. Staff are expected to work across multi-sites as required by the service.
Rotations: Currently 9 monthly in the following areas:
Critical Care (organized over 6 separate units) each with its own specialty bias including, Liver, Major Trauma and Neurosurgery
Medicine and Non-Invasive Ventilation
Adult Cystic Fibrosis
(Duties within each rotation are delegated by the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for the area)

To carry a designated clinical caseload including complex patients and prioritise that work efficiently taking into account clinical and service priorities using specialist knowledge to underpin decisions.
To provide individual patient equipment as required, walking aids, splints and supports. To issue such equipment with due regard to safety of the equipment, and in line with legal, national and local guidelines.
To be responsible for the standard of physiotherapy carried out by physiotherapy assistants or technical instructors working with you.
To undertake home visits when appropriate, to ensure planned discharge from hospital.
To advise, guide and teach junior staff and students in the assessment and management of patients and other aspects of clinical practice.
On the appropriate rotation, independently run the out-patient respiratory service and pulmonary rehabilitation programme working without direct supervision including management of the waiting list.
To be an active member of the on-call, weekend duty rotas, and extended hours as required, and cover of statutory and public holidays including working as lone physiotherapy practitioner at night.

Provide patients, families and other carers with specialist advice or instruction to promote the understanding of the aims of physiotherapy and to ensure consistent patient management.
To communicate effectively with patients and carers to maximize rehabilitation potential and to improve understanding of the condition which will require the appropriate response to the patients level of communication, facilitating the best possible communication outcome e.g. use of interpreters.
To be able to persuade and motivate patients through effective communication skills.
To provide and receive information from patients, carers and other professionals regarding a patients condition and treatment progress. This may include the sharing and receiving of complex and/or sensitive information.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with physiotherapy colleagues, referring clinicians, other members of the multidisciplinary team and other appropriate persons or agencies involved in the provision of care to these groups of patients in the community and hospital settings to provide a coordinated service.
To attend case conferences and ward rounds to ensure that the physiotherapeutic management of patients is integrated into the individual patient treatment plan and that other members of the MDT know the progress of the patient.

The Resuscitation Practitioner supports the delivery of high-quality resuscitation services across the Trust, contributing to education, training, clinical practice, governance, and service improvement to ensure safe, effective, evidence-based care.

Main duties of the job
Deliver resuscitation training for clinical and non-clinical staff, supporting the development and maintenance of skills in basic, immediate, advanced and paediatric life support, emergency response, human factors, simulation training, and recognition of the deteriorating patient.
Use a range of educational methods, including e-learning, simulation, and competency-based assessment, to support learning and compliance with Trust and national standards. Provide training and advice to staff in high-risk clinical areas, promoting a positive learning environment and acting as a resource for resuscitation practice. Hold, or be willing to obtain within 12 months, an RCUK-accredited Level 3 instructor qualification.
Clinical Responsibilities
Maintain accountability for autonomous practice and ongoing professional development. Demonstrate and maintain competence in advanced resuscitation skills, including defibrillation, ECG interpretation, intravenous access and drug administration, pacing, advanced airway management, intraosseous access, and mechanical CPR devices.
Respond to adult, paediatric, neonatal, maternal, trauma and medical emergency calls, acting as team leader or multidisciplinary team member within individual competence. Support patients and relatives with information regarding resuscitation decisions where appropriate. Maintain clinical competence through regular practice and keep knowledge current through research, evidence, and national guidance.

We have a exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist post within the Chester East Care Community Team based in the Fountains Health Centre as part of an integrated care team.

Job summary
There are two apprenticeships available, one based at Sunderland Hospital and one based at South Tyneside Hospital. Support service installations and their maintenance are an essential part of the NHS and form a vital link in Health Care Provision. An exciting and challenging position have arisen for Level 3 Apprenticeships in Multi Skilled Engineering which will require the individual to learn and study both aspects of electrical and mechanical engineering. Employed by CHoICE, a wholly owned company of the South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, the successful applicant will work towards the completion of a tailored training plan in partnership with the Northern & Yorkshire NHS Assessment Centre (NYNHSAS).
As part of the apprenticeship, the successful applicant will be released to attend college to allow them to study for the technical knowledge aspect of the apprenticeship, it is typical that this is achieved over one day / evening per week for the first two years of the role. Practical basic skills training will be achieved via block release for approximately 8 months during the first year of the apprenticeship, which once achieved, will allow the apprentice to commence training towards their End Point Assessment to achieve their full Apprenticeship Standard which will take place within the Employing organisation and NYNHSAC.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will attend a College to study for the technical knowledge aspect of the apprenticeship for example one day / evening a week for the first two years and practical basic skills training as a block release for approximately 8 months. Once this has been achieved, the applicant will then commence training towards their End Point Assessment to achieve the required full Apprenticeship Standard, this will typically take place within the Employing organisation and NYNHSAC.
The apprenticeship will potentially commence early 2027 subject to all necessary funding and employment checks being carried out, including a colour blindness test. Qualifications acceptable on entry are usually a minimum of GCSE at Grade B / 5 in Mathematics and Grade C / 4, or equivalent, in at least 4 other subjects to include a science based subject.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:

- Handle difficult situations with patients, carers, and staff, such as complaints, which require tact and empathy.
- Responsible for the operational management of the Reception and Administration Team, including staff supervision, recruitment, training, performance management, and the preparation and maintenance of rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels and service continuity.
- Prepare and monitor Clinical appointment diaries, reviewing the demand and capacity on a daily basis to ensure service needs are met.
- Convene practice and multi-disciplinary meetings, including the preparation of agendas and production of minutes, ensuring any actions are dealt with within the agreed timeframes.
- Run searches and reports within the EMIS system to support the call and recall of chronic disease patients.
- Assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
- Perform other senior administration and clerical duties as required by the Practice Managers.

Job summary
The Radiology Directorate at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint substantive Consultant Radiologists with a special interest in oncological cross-sectional imaging. This post represents an excellent opportunity for candidates who will be eligible for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register within six months of interview. Interviews are planned for early 2027.
The successful applicant will be based primarily at The Christie's main site in Withington, with some scope for home working, and will join a well-established team of 27 Consultant Radiologists. The post holder will be an oncological radiologist with experience across cancer imaging and expertise in CT, MRI, Ultrasound and PET imaging (training in PET-CT will be provided if required). Experience of chairing Cancer MDTs is expected, and an interest in routine interventional radiology can be supported.
The department undertakes approximately 60,000 examinations per year, delivering services across CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Plain Film, Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine reporting, including regional PET-CT reporting. Radiologists work closely with oncology and surgical teams and contribute to a wide range of MDTs. Research is integral to the service, with strong involvement in clinical trials, alongside a major educational role supporting the North West School of Radiology and the Christie PET Academy.
Main duties of the job
This is a substantive post of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, including 2.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs). The role includes participation in the consultant on-call rota.
Applicants must be on, or eligible for, inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Radiology within six months of interview. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

We support all the clinical services with their administration needs and are looking for individuals that are extremely adaptable and flexible as working locations and duties can vary considerably from day to day. The ability to be comfortable in both patient facing and back office environments is essential.
We are seeking strong and confident IT skills as we use several different systems in order to fulfil all the requirements of this post.

- Screen referrals coming into the service, this is the primary gatekeeping measure to separate emotional well-being referrals and signpost them accordingly from referrals requiring further triage.
- Complete IT tasks recording on Electronic Patients Records System, proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Excell and Word.
- They are required to complete mandatory training, monthly supervision and Safeguarding supervision.
- They are responsible for maintaining their registration and are accountable to their own regulatory code of practice.

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Christie Urology team, providing world class Urological cancer care across Greater Manchester and beyond. This post is for a Urological Surgeon with a specialist interest in robotic prostate cancer surgery, helping to develop and expand the Christie regional prostate cancer service.
The post also offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the regional complex pelvic cancer service, providing urological expertise to the minimally invasive and open surgical management of complex cases.
Main duties of the job
A successful candidate will be an integral member of the prostate cancer MDT, offering robotic surgical management for prostate cancer patients across Greater Manchester. They will have the opportunity to develop new and novel techniques for the management of prostate cancer and will have the chance to participate in wide -ranging research programmes. Outpatient clinics will be provided at the main Christie site as well as at satellite services as part of the Christie's commitment to proving care closer to home.
The post holder with also provide support to the multi-disciplinary complex pelvic surgical team, providing urological input to the assessment, planning and delivery of complex multi-visceral resection surgery.
About us
The postholder will contribute to the delivery of high quality consultant led care across 7 days. This includes participation in planned weekend and weekday clinical activity to support safe, timely decision making and continuity of care for patients.
The service is a national referral service with three MDTs each week where all new referrals are discussed. The service is consultant led with daily consultant ward rounds undertaken in rotation. A system is in place with job planned consultant Colorectal, Urology, and Gynaecology support for operating lists to facilitate the complex nature of the surgery. Quarterly Morbidity and Mortality meetings are undertaken to review all complications. The service prides itself in its low complication figures for the major surgeries undertaken. We are an ESSO accredited training centre for peritoneal surface malignancy. We provide mentorship for trainees undertaking the ESSO/EPSO fellowship in peritoneal surgery. Emergency cover is provided by the colorectal on-call consultant which the successful appointment will be part of. This covers inpatient surgical and oncology patients including those presenting through the Acute Oncology Assessment Unit.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for a specialised caseload involving the implementation and coordination of specialised treatment regimens involving specialist podiatric care and patient management programmes.
The post holder will have knowledge in the specialist area and possess a high level of clinical competence and clinical diagnostic skills, whilst treating a varied clientele including children and adults, those with learning difficulties and anyone with limb / foot deformities which affects mobility and function.
The post holder will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work across professional boundaries to ensure best care for patients with specialist podiatric care needs. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner with well-developed clinical skills and maintain a high level of knowledge and experience whilst treating complex foot problems.
And provide the highest quality of podiatric care to those patients whose feet are assessed as being "at risk" (in line with departmental guidelines). This may require the post holder to use their own judgement to alter the treatment plan to suit individual patient's needs. If problems arise beyond the scope of this post the patient must be referred to a more experienced podiatrist.

The North West Integrated Neighbour Team are looking for Band 5 Community Nurse to join their team at Hartismere Hospital!

Main duties of the job
The INT's cover both beautiful rural geographical areas as well as the more urban population of the local towns providing holistic and sometimes complex nursing care within people's homes.
You will not only be working alongside other Community and District Nurses but also with a larger team of skilled Generic Support Workers, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapists, social workers, independence wellbeing practitioners, social prescriber, Matron, care co-ordinators and team administration colleagues.
You will be committed to team work, delivering high quality patient care and have a desire for on-going professional development. This is an opportunity to work within knowledgeable experienced teams and wider MDT.
You should be flexible, motivated and able to work within a changing environment. We will provide support through in-house professional forums, Mandatory training, 1:1 and personal development meetings as well as clinical rolling skills training via the practice development facilitators. We facilitate students on training and have close working relationships with neighbouring community teams in Health and Social Care
