We are looking for a passionate, motivated and experienced Social Worker to join our Mental Health Team. This is a small, well-established, dedicated social care service for people with severe and enduring mental health conditions.
Main duties of the job
The mental health social work teams provide specialist services for adults over 18. The teams support people to recover from periods of difficulty with their mental health and for people to stay as independent as possible by providing support that is person-centred which gives people choice and control in their lives.
As a Mental Health Social Worker, you will also be involved in assessing, coordinating and arranging care for service users with mental health problems, including dementia, both in the community and in hospital.
You will need to be Registered with Social Work England / your appropriate Professional body. Experience of working in a health or social care setting is essential, along with excellent communication skills. You will need to demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for integrated working and an understanding of how we can best engage with our local communities and other partners in a meaningful way.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- To assist/work alongside Approved Mental Health Professionals and provide back up to the AMHP rota and Mental Health Act Assessments. This could involve co-ordinating the personnel (Doctors, Police, ambulance, Relatives) in preparation for the assessment and participation in the risk assessment and management of a mentally disordered service user whose health has deteriorated to the nature and degree that they require assessment and possibly compulsory admission under the Mental Health Act.
- To undertake the role of Social Supervisor. To maintain contact and liaise with Service Users detained in secure hospital settings with a view to enabling a safe transfer into the community. To undertake social supervision of restricted patients subject to Conditional Discharge under the Mental Health Act 1983 and report to the Home Office (Section 37/41)
- Rota responsibilities. Supporting AMHPs on rota. Acting as appropriate adult to vulnerable people who are interviewed by Police under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE)
- Working within a number of legislative frameworks and needing to make important decisions which can impact hugely upon human rights Mental Health Legislation: Mental Capacity Act. The Care Act.
- Offering specialist advice to health colleagues in Avon and Wiltshire mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
- Working in partnership with other agencies to protect the public and individuals Multi agency public protection arrangements, vulnerable adults procedure. Keeping abreast of developments in other related statutory organisations housing, benefit agency, policy, probation, general health, voluntary organisations.

Wiltshire Councils Homeless Early Intervention team focus on supporting households identified as being at high risk of becoming threatened with homeless by providing upstream and pre-preventative holistic support.
You'll have the chance to work from one of our hubs located in Trowbridge, Chippenham, or Salisbury as well as being expected to provide outreach advice and support in our communities across the county. There will be opportunities to work in a variety of environments such as hospitals, community drop-in centres and customers homes to target the support to the hardest to reach households in our community.
As a Homeless Early Intervention Officer, you will provide vital advice and support to our clients, empowering them to understand their tenure right, maintain their housing, and preventing homelessness. From supporting with maximising income and budgeting, to preventing family exclusion by mediation, to connecting them with essential services. You'll adopt a trauma informed approach and play a crucial role in navigating our customers through the challenges the current cost-of-living and housing crisis.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a conscientious and committed Approved Mental Health Professional to join the Wiltshire AMHP Hub. Wiltshire Council utilises a Hub & Spoke model of service, staffed by highly skilled and competent AMHPs who always aim to maximise the independence of service users.
The role of the team is to provide the statutory AMHP function on behalf of the Council. The Team ensures referrals for Mental Health Act related work are managed appropriately. This includes undertaking assessments under the Act, dealing with Nearest Relative related work, and managing CTO and Guardianship related work.
You will need to undertake assessments under the Act when appropriate but also record clearly when referrals and assessments are not progressed. You will be involved in CTO work, Guardianship work as well as mental health Breathing Space work. Your role will include you undertaking the AMHP Triage role from time to time.
To be successful in this role you will have a recognised and relevant professional qualification (i.e. Degree/Diploma in Social Work or equivalent) and be registered with your professional body. You will be a qualified and experienced AMHP. You will have expert knowledge of the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act, the Care Act and other relevant legislation. You will have a significant understanding and awareness of mental health, AMHP practice and emerging developments in these fields.

Main duties of the job
Our Adult Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) service is looking for a team manager.
The post holder will lead and manage the Adult MASH team, including Social Workers, Information Officers, and Minute Takers, ensuring safeguarding concerns are assessed and progressed effectively in line with legislation, local policies, and multi-agency procedures. They will provide leadership and oversight of complex and high-risk cases, support robust decision-making, and work closely with police, health, and other partner agencies to deliver coordinated safeguarding responses. Main duties of the job
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled practitioner to join our Mental Health Social Care Team, supporting people of all ages across Wiltshire. You will work with adults, and older people, including those with learning disabilities, who meet the threshold for secondary mental health care.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will carry out assessments, manage care plans, and work closely with health professionals to ensure people receive the right support at the right time. You will help individuals maintain independence, manage risk, and access services that meet their needs, while ensuring their experience of health and social care is as seamless and integrated as possible.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, liaising with our partners at AWP and other adult social care teams. You will also support safeguarding, carers assessments, and contribute to service development by listening to feedback and identifying improvements.
We are looking for someone with experience in health or social care, a good understanding of mental health, and a commitment to putting people at the heart of everything we do.
