Job summary
For this role you will have an expert knowledge of dietary management of paediatric diabetes, an up to date knowledge of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring and be able to advise on safe carbohydrate adjustment. You will be the clinical lead dietitian for paediatric diabetes at Northampton General Hospital and work as an autonomous advanced practitioner but understand your role within the paediatric diabetes team and wider teams. You will have specialist dietetic assessment skills and will be able to create dietetic interventions linked into wider MDT care plans. You will be actively involved in developing care pathways. You will have advanced communication skills, the ability to use age appropriate language, be flexible in your approach to create helpful relationships to meet the needs of children and family/carers and ensure the child's voice is heard.
You will provide a responsive service to newly diagnosed children when an inpatient, provide timely follow up at home, liaise with family members and education providers and provide outpatient services. These children can have a range of complex social and psychological issues as well as a range of comorbidities.
Main duties of the job
o Providing dietetic assessment, advice, treatment and counselling to support behavioural change in children and young people who have a diagnosis of type 1 or 2 diabetes. This will be delivered through one-to-one consultations, group sessions, MDT clinics, home visits and school training. The majority of this work will be face to face
o Providing expert advice to meet the need of individual children/families to promote healthy lifestyle choices and facilitate the attainment and maintenance of optimal medical outcomes. You will advise on insulin adjustment, carbohydrate counting and blood glucose control to reduce the risk of diabetes complications
o Reviewing from diagnosis nutritional status, anthropometric measurements, blood test results, activity levels and other indictors to allow recommendations on meeting nutritional requirements and growth to be met
o Safe caseload manage and ensuring the requirements of the National Paediatric Diabetes Audit are met
o Autonomously managing a highly complex caseload and work with children and their carers to agree patient centred care
o Working collaboratively with the wider multi- disciplinary health care team to ensure delivery of coordinated care and to provide specialist advice and attend case conferences, safeguarding meetings, network meetings as appropriate.
o Educating children/families on glycaemic management by teaching level 3 carbohydrate counting portions,

CATERING Service Duties
Inform patients about the Hospitals food offer and the procedure for any ad-hoc requests and help them to make an informed choice from the range of foods and beverages.
Order food using the hospitals electronic ordering devices.
Liaise with nurses, caterers and dieticians to ensure patients food, nutrition/clinical needs and preferences are identified and met.
Identify patients not eating sufficiently to the Nurse in Charge.
Ensure appropriate feedback is given on the patients food service experience e.g. quality, quantity and choice.
Provide information to the next food service assistant who is on duty using the guidelines provided to ensure a seamless service.
Store food in accordance with manufactured guidelines and food safety legislation.
Offer patients a choice of hot & cold beverages, as and when required a minimum of 5 times a day.
Ensure a regular supply of fresh water is provided to each patient throughout the day.
Serve the patients their choice and portion size of main dish, vegetables and accompaniments in an appealing and appetising way. Offer second portions if required.
Ensure patients with special dietary requirements receive the appropriate food following liaison with the dietician or nurse.
Identify appropriate meal choices to meet patients needs/preferences.
Movement of food to wards/RDU as required adhering to food safety legislation.

DCHS Podiatry Team are looking to welcome a Highly Specialist Podiatrist with an interest in Biomechanics/MSK in Derby and South Derbyshire.

The perfect match for our team will work as a Biomechanics/MSK clinical specialist in the Derby and South Derbyshire locality of DCHS Podiatry.
You will be responsible for the treatment and management of complex and specialised Biomechanical/MSK caseloads and provide specialist podiatry advice to the Community Podiatry Team, including Biomechanical input into acute and preventative wound care.
You will be part of ahighly motivated team, providing a high standard of clinical care in highly specialised areas and having at least three years registration.
As part of the Podiatry Team and Wider Trust, you will contribute to the development of and adhere to the Podiatry Department and Trusts' policies, strategies and objectives.
Main duties of the job
To act as a Biomechanical/MSK clinical foot specialist for the Community Podiatry Team in Derby and South Derbyshire.
To be responsible for the podiatric assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of biomechanical interventions, which may involve:
Strengthening and stretching exercise programs.
Strapping techniques.
Neurological assessment.
Advanced casting techniques
Prescription, chairside manufacture, issue and evaluation of a wide range of orthotic devices.
Steroid Injections.
Liaison with DCHS Podiatric Surgery and Interdisciplinary Wound Clinic.
To follow uni and multi professional guidelines on evidence-based practice in the care of patients with biomechanical pathologies and in the care of patients with diabetes and other medical conditions which may impact on foot health.
Tobe actively involved in the provision of foot health education and advice to patients, relatives and carers and to participate in foot health training where appropriate.
To participate in the observational placement of Student Podiatrists and other Health Professionals.
To follow Departmental and Trust Policies and Procedures and Guidelines but have the discretion to make own clinical diagnosis and decisions within professional guidelines. To be responsible for the maintenance of high standards of clinical hygiene, stock and equipment control within the premises used for work.

The ICST is a CAMHS service providing intensive outreach and intervention for children and young people (CYP) with the most complex needs.
The service operates between the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team and inpatient services.
The team prioritises CYP who experience repeated crises and engage in high-risk behaviours.
It supports young people whose needs may be better met in the community, where inpatient admission could potentially increase longer-term risk.
The cohort typically includes young people with emotional dysregulation, significant trauma histories, ASD, intellectual disabilities, and associated high-risk behaviours.
The team is committed to offering intensive, psychologically informed support to ensure the best possible care, in the community.
The team will offer an enhanced model of care to young people and their families working alongside existing services to develop a holistic and integrated personalised plan of care using trauma informed approaches.
Within the senior leadership team learning and development opportunities are supported both through in-house training and external provision. We provide extensive support and supervision within our team and service.

We are looking to recruit an administrator tosupport research projects and postgraduate education in the department.We are looking to recruit a good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.You will have good IT knowledge of online meeting software, Word and Excel and at least 2 years administrative experience, preferably in ahealthcare, research or event management.You need to be able to use your own initiative, have good attention to detail and work well within a team.The role holder will be responsible for liaising with research patients, ensuring research protocols are followed, recording patient data and workingalongside trial monitors.In addition, the department runs national courses for health professionals and this role will be responsible for the organisation of these courses.This includes venue and hospitality bookings, speaker and delegate liaison, production of course material and arranging the financial aspectsassociated with course delivery.Some of our courses are now virtual so the role holder must be confident in managing online meetings and webinars. This role will also beresponsible for maintaining the department website.
Main duties of the job
Develop and implement new systems of working inline with the department projects including record management, ensuring that systems exist foreffective management of information.
Day to day management: dealing with queries from patients and health professionals, managing research participant appointments, liaising withpostgraduate course faculty, ensuring research and course milestones are met.
Ensuring secretarial cover is adequate to continue delivering the service and maintain an awareness of whole department activities.
Contribute to the safety and security of the department, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and Trust policy.
Prepare research information highlighting agreed targets to assist the smooth running of the research projects.
To provide advice to the team re information governance issues, data protection and Caldicott issues

An opportunity has arisen for a MRI Specialist development post Band 5 - Band 6. The post holder will begin at Band 5 level and be trained with full preceptorship with a view to progress to Band 6 within 18 months dependent on experience.
This is an opportunity for anyone who wishes to join our large and friendly team. We expect the post holder to already possess excellent patient care skills and be ready and willing to learn the complex modality of MRI whilst continuously learning and supporting our team.
These vacancies will allow the successful candidates to work at all of our UHDB (University hospitals of Derby and Burton) sites. This post will be based at Royal Derby Hospital Site and include rotation to Queens Hospital Burton and some / all of our CDC Sites, including Sir Robert Peel at Tamworth, Ilkeston Community Hospital and Florence Nightingale Community Hospital.
Main duties of the job
We provide MRI scans using state of the art Phillips and Siemens MRI scanners.
The post holder will join our large and friendly team, and quickly become an integral part of our expanding service. The MRI services are operational 7 days a week.
The post holder will be expected to take part in out-of-hours work including on-call.
