Job summary
Looking for a new challenge? This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking Band 6 Charge Nurse to join our Paediatric Emergency Department team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and highly motivated individual who can demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and clinical skills, supported by previous experience within a paediatric emergency care setting. We pride ourselves on providing a supportive working environment, committed to delivering high-quality patient care while actively promoting staff development and progression.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively alongside the Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) and Neptune Paediatric Ward. The PAU is a 7-bedded unit, currently co-located within Neptune Ward, which comprises 16 inpatient beds.
There is an exciting development plan within the footprint for the Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU), with a purpose-built area to enable PAU services to be co-located alongside the Paediatric Emergency Department which is set to open in Autumn 2026. This innovative design will enhance patient flow, improve access to care, and strengthen collaborative working across services.
Main duties of the job
If successful, you will be expected to demonstrate the ability to effectively manage the paediatric emergency department (ED) environment and patient care during a shift, including the coordination of staff and resources.
You will support your colleagues and work alongside the Nurse in Charge to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, holistic care, while maintaining effective patient flow. This will require clear communication and close collaboration with other areas across the paediatric directorate.
You will uphold professional and clinical standards at all times, acting as a positive role model and supporting the development of others within the team.

Main duties of the job
The Admissions Department is looking for a motivated, organised individual. You will work as part of this team to ensure that patients are admitted to hospital in a timely and efficient manner, making the process as smooth as possible for patients and clinicians.
The role of an Admissions Officer requires you to have your own area of responsibility following a successful probation period. During your first 6 months you will learn specialties within the Department. Full training will be given in order that you are fully competent in processes and work within policy & procedure guidelines.
The successful candidates must have up to date keyboard skills, experience of dealing with members of the public and recent clerical experience. A proven ability to be flexible in responding to changing situations is essential.

The Practitioner will focus on health action planning and liaising with primary care services to ensure that people with learning disabilities who are supported by the LD-IST receive a high standard of service.

The successful candidate will work across the Intensive Support Team (IST) and the Learning Disability Inpatient Unit. This role provides the opportunity to develop skills and experience across two closely linked services while ensuring continuity of care for patients as they move through the Learning Disability Pathway. Clinical
1. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, including professional and legal accountability and managing clinical risk for all aspects of own work. Some aspects of work will involve delivery of the care as an individual practitioner or as part of a multi-disciplinary team. An opportunity has arisen to join our team of Site Matrons at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on a permanent basis. The post holder will be supported by an established team of Site Matrons supported by an Operational Support Manager and Patient Flow Assistants.
The Site Matron role is integral to the successful operation of the hospital; you will need to be a quick thinker and strong leader with excellent problem-solving skills, able to negotiate sound operational decisions in rapidly changing situations, often under pressure so a calm and pleasant manner is essential. Your main responsibilities will include promoting effective patient flow ensuring safe and effective patient placement.
You will be a registered nurse with a masters degree or equivalent qualifications and demonstrable clinical experience, with significant experience as a Band 7. You will possess enhanced nursing and leadership skills and have an understanding of current acute hospital performance indicators. The post holder will need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
Main duties of the job
A broad overview of responsibilities includes managing the Trusts bed capacity and patient flow and assisting in the achievement of key performance and quality standards e.g. emergency and elective admission access targets, single sex accommodation, and infection control. You will also be required to, support safe staffing levels. Out of hours you will have overall responsibility for the hospital site with support from the on-call senior manager and the executive on call.
The team covers the site 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The shift pattern is 12.5-hour shifts covering days and nights including weekends and bank holidays.

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a fully qualified Anatomical Pathology Technician to join the mortuary team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital as the Deputy Mortuary Manager.
The post has been established to support the Mortuary Service Manager & work within the team of APT's & MEO's in the organisation of a safe, secure, effective & comprehensive mortuary, post mortem & Medical Examiner's office/service for the needs of the Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust & the wider community.
Applicants should hold the RSPH/RIPHH, Certificate & Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology (or level 3 & level 4 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology) & ideally have 5 years post Diploma/Level 4 mortuary experience, they should be registered with the Academy for Healthcare Sciences &/or possess Science Council Registration; they should be a member of the Association of Anatomical Pathology Technologists.
You will be required to have a good understanding of medical terminology so they can work with the MEO's to provide an all-encompassing service for the bereaved.
The successful candidate will be expected to show a high degree of professionalism, have a compassionate, empathetic and mature attitude and be vigilant of the strict confidentiality policy required for the post; they will be required to participate in an on-call rota for out of hours APT duties.
Main duties of the job
All mortuary staff play a part in the death certification process; the APT's are pivotal to this service by providing technical assistance, dissection skills and input to the post mortem examination service; they will also be undertaking external examinations of deceased as applicable to the Medical Examiner's Services, and where appropriate, work alongside the MEO's who will provide a specific conduit for bereaved families.
The Chief APT/Deputy Mortuary Manager will assist with all processes relating to handling of the deceased from admission to release, upkeep of records and databases and assist with all post mortem room duties as directed by the Service Manager & Pathologist.
