Clerk Typist, Band 2 - Part Time
15hrs per week based at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle
This is an opportunity to join the Specialist Surgical Collaborative, which provides services throughout Cumbria in a number of varied clinical settings. The service aims to provide a high quality, locally delivered, patient focussed service.
This role will be crucial to the efficient day to day delivery of the service.
We are looking for a competent and professional Clerk Typist who can achieve between 50 - 60 words per minute average typing speed with recent or relevant experience in a similar role and regularly producing professional letters/documents. The posts will be based at Cumberland Infirmary or Hilltop Heights, typing for Consultants, Specialist Doctors and Nurse Practitioners.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will often be the first point of contact for our patients therefore a professional, patient focused approach is key at all times. You will provide a high standard of administration support to the clinical team, liaising with other departments, patients, NHS Trusts and external agencies.
You must be educated to GCSE (minimum C Grade) standard, be trained to RSA level 2 standard and/or an NVQ level 2 in Administration and/or have the relevant typing experience, preferably having an administration background.
We are looking for someone with a pleasant, adaptable disposition who can remain calm under pressure and deal with a busy workload efficiently and effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as a positive approach to working in a team.

Job summary
The role is accountable for interpretations of legal and national housekeeping policies and interpreting this into a deliverable operational practice that ensures GSTT sites are compliant.
The post holder will lead the implementation of the housekeeping strategy, providing expert advice to deliver operational services. It does this in partnership with internal stakeholders e.g. clinical groups and delivery groups alongside external stakeholders and other stakeholders relevant to individual sites and all GSTT locations.
The successful candidate will possess a high level of leadership expertise, alongside the ability to lead housekeeping functions to deliver operational excellence.
In line with the NHS Management and Leadership Framework and Code of Practice, the post holder will demonstrate compassionate, inclusive and accountable leadership, model GSTT values, and create psychologically safe environments in which staff can speak up, learn and improve.
The post holder will use service, workforce and quality insight to identify and reduce inequity, support anti-racist practice, and improve fairness, belonging and outcomes for staff, patients and service users, including people from marginalised groups.
Main duties of the job
- Implementation of the housekeeping standards and operating procedures for housekeeping and rapid response provision across the entire GSTT estate
- Lead a site-based leadership team who oversee nearly 700 staff in the provision of housekeeping and rapid response services across the GSTT estate
- Deliver operational performance (financial and non-financial) targets against agreed service standards, including compliance with Financial & Procurement Regulations
- Continuously monitor and review services; identify and implement service, operational and financial improvements to deliver within allocated budgets, improving value for money, including being responsive to changing business needs
- Leadership Standards (Aligned to NHS Management and Leadership Framework) - Lead with compassion, integrity and accountability, making clear, fair and timely decisions and taking responsibility for outcomes

The Integrated Mental Health teams work as part of a 'neighbourhood' offering place-based provision of mental health services in partnership with other local organisations. Main duties of the job
A key feature of this post is to promote individual person-centred recovery by drawing on the peer support workers own personal lived experience of mental health challenges and of accessing mental health services.
As a pivotal and highly valued member of the team, peer support workers will have a case load of identified patients who they will work with on both an individual basis and by delivering group interventions, working in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
This formalised peer support will allow the post holder to provide a safe space for individuals to talk and make sense of their experiences whilst sharing wisdom from their own recovery to inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our specialist Children and Young People's Eating Disorders Service. Our newly developed CAMHS GO (CAMHS Group Offer) Service will be an early intervention offer to children and young people with mild to moderate health and mental wellbeing problems.
The Mental Health Practitioner provides brief, evidence-based, and outcome-focused psychological interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Our CAMHS team in Tamworth is looking to recruit a CAMHS Practioner who will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children and young people with serious and enduring mental health difficulties. The role involves managing a defined caseload with a focus on working with children and young people and their families who experience a complex range of needs and difficulties.
Acting as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will provide assessment, psychosocial, evidence-based interventions using a collaborative approach and will be skilled at risk assessment and management. They will complement the multi-disciplinary working of the team, providing supervision for other team members, as agreed with the Team Lead.
In addition you will participate in team and service development and evaluation, and liaise, advise and consult with a wide range of agencies.
Main duties of the job
- Take responsibility for the management of a complex caseload, which includes, specialist assessment (within service specification), and care planning in conjunction with service user and carer, evaluation of individual treatment plans for CYP with mental health needs.
- Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including the auditing, monitoring and reviewing of practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and
- Assess patient's individual care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
- Deliver a range of interventions in accordance with the agreed plan of care and Pathway guidance.
- Complete and contribute, where appropriate to robust risk assessments and risk management Deliver and promote positive risk taking, where appropriate, to improve quality of life and maximise occupational performance/independence.

Job summary

We currently have a full time Band 3 Administration Officer vacancy with the ADHD/Autism. One post based at Collingwood Court, St Nicholas Hospital, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne NE3 3XT and the second post is based at Keegan Court, Grassbanks, Gateshead NE10 8DX
This is a very busy service and the post-holder is part of an admin team which supports the multi-disciplinary clinical team. Duties will include processing referrals into the service, maintaining an electronic patient record system ), maintaining spreadsheets, diary management, typing clinical letters and reports and minuting meetings as well as other general office duties. A proven high level of organisational and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with extensive experience of Microsoft packages are required.
The post holder must facilitate excellent customer service and be confident in dealing with service users face to face as well as on the telephone and carry out duties as assigned to them by the Administration Team Lead / Administration Manager / Team Manager to ensure a comprehensive, high quality administrative service to the team at all times.Candidates must be adaptable, work well as a team and provide a positive patient experience which are essential skills for the role of Administration Officer.
This is a full-time post 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
