Job summary
Working as a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse entails great leadership, encompassing communication, collaborative working, innovating ways of working, and providing staff and patient safety at all times.
This post entails providing day to day leadership to the Nursing team within the ward, acting as a role model at all times whilst ensuring patients are receiving high quality evidence-based care.
You will adopt a highly visible and accessible approach for patients, their carers and relatives, and all staff within the MDT alike. They will lead by example and help to empower staff in their personal and professional development.
There is an expectation to work closely with the medical team and other agencies, to ensure patient care is given safely, promptly and appropriately, encouraging proactive discharge planning, and promoting maximum independence for patients.
**Post is for 34 hours per week**
Main duties of the job
- To work as part of a team demonstrating effective communication, and working collaboratively with colleagues inside and out of the department.
- To provide a service that is tailored to meet the needs of the individual and to understand what our patients need and be adaptable and responsive.
- Support and develop Junior Staff
- Lead Board/MDT rounds (SAFER)
- Role model and lead the way to excellent care
About us
We are looking for a passionate and committed Band 6 ward sister who has an interest in Elderly care or is interested in gaining a broad knowledge around this fantastic area of nursing.
Simpson is a 28 bedded healthcare of the elderly ward and receives a broad range of acute medical conditions. Working alongside the MDT you will get a chance to help change patients lives.
You will work as a Registered Nurse within a multidisciplinary team. To promote and maintain a safe clinical environment for all patients, their carers, visitors and staff.
To comply with the Trust's values and expected behaviours anddeliver a high standard of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
To ensure care, assessments, treatment and documentation is delivered in line with Guidelines and to act as an advocate for patients, their families and staff.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and proactive individual with a passion for using data to identify and make improvements and great interpersonal skills to apply for a 12 month fixed term/secondment for the position of Clinical Quality and Improvement Officer for the Medicine Group at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust.
The post-holder will work closely with clinical colleagues within the Medicine group. They will support with facilitation of multiple quality aspects with the clinical teams including clinical audits, guidelines, incidents, risks, complaints and mortality reviews. They will also support with data analysis and data quality, create reports, and present data to speciality committees.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work closely an in collaboration with clinical, operational, and administrative colleagues within the Medicine group to support the delivery of key performance indicators and provide high quality service and administrative support including information, analysis and report writing.
They will also act as a central point of contact for Quality and Governance within the Medicine group, resolving queries and ensuring reported KPI's are met. To identify issues and root causes in collaboration with the specialities to develop new standard practices.

The ward includes three Hyper Acute Stroke beds, supporting the rapid assessment and delivery of specialist stroke treatments and blood pressure management, ensuring patients receive timely and effective care at a critical stage of their recovery.

Main duties of the job
To assess, treat and discharge patients. Main duties of the job
- Undertake routine and, where trained and competent, more complex diagnostic hearing assessments for adults and older children in accordance with departmental protocols. Interpret results within the defined scope of practice, explain findings clearly, identify red flags and arrange appropriate escalation or onward referral.
- Provide hearing aid rehabilitation, including selection, fitting, verification, maintenance and repair of hearing devices, together with individualised advice and communication support. Work alongside Assistant Audiologists and the wider team to deliver administrative and operational support, including responding to patient and professional enquiries, triaging referrals in line with agreed pathways, processing postal repairs and maintaining stock.
About us
The Audiology Department comprises approximately 30 staff working across a range of grades, roles and specialist services. These include direct-access adult hearing assessment and rehabilitation, paediatric audiology, tinnitus services, hearing therapy, bone-conduction hearing devices, vestibular assessment and support for people with learning disabilities.
The department is based at Torbay Hospital and provides clinics across eight locations in South Devon, as well as domiciliary care for patients who are unable to attend a clinic.
We are a busy, friendly and supportive team committed to delivering high-quality, equitable and evidence-based care. The service has held UKAS Improving Quality in Physiological Services accreditation since 2014 and all team members contribute to maintaining and improving these standards.

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse who has a keen interest in developing their skills in Oncology and Haematology to join cancer services at Torbay Hospital.
Preferably the successful applicant will have a recognised SACT administration training qualification. If you are not trained in SACT, but are willing to undergo training, you may still apply.
You will be expected to provide a high standard of care for cancer patients, this will include delivering the safe administration of anticancer and supportive treatments, whilst working flexibly across Turner Ward our specialist inpatient ward and the Ricky Grant Day Unit our purpose built 15-chair Chemotherapy Day Unit. This may involve a range of shift patterns which will include days, evenings, weekends, and rotation to night duty.
You will be required to inform and educate patients on the prescribed treatment and its side effects and support patients and their carers on all aspects of their care, be they newly diagnosed or being treated with palliative intent.
Once trained this role would include co-ordinating and supervising a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients.

- To work on Turner Ward and Ricky Grant Day Unit as a Sister/Charge Nurse within a team responsible for the care of patients admitted as a result of their cancer diagnosis or side effects of their treatment and for the administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) in the nurse led Day Unit setting
- To be in charge of the ward/unit team responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of patient care. You will be working closely with other professional colleagues to ensure that consistently high standards and quality of care for patients are maintained and that the patient's needs are met
- To improve practice by continuous professional development. You will gain a broad spectrum of clinical proficiency to deliver SACT

Main duties of the job
- As a Colorectal Advanced Nurse, you will be an autonomous specialist practitioner within our Pelvic Floor and Functional Bowel Disorders Service, delivering expert assessment, treatment and ongoing management for patients with complex functional bowel conditions. Working within the boundaries of your expertise, you will manage a specialist caseload and provide evidence-based, patient-centred care that supports improved outcomes and quality of life.
- You will work closely with an experienced Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and as an integral member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, delivering coordinated care across the pelvic floor pathway. The role requires highly developed communication skills to support complex clinical decision-making, patient education, treatment planning and long-term self-management.
- In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will contribute to service development, audit, quality improvement and clinical governance activities, helping to shape and enhance the future delivery of pelvic floor and functional bowel services.
