Main duties of the job
The role of a Food and Beverage Assistant at Avery Healthcare involves supporting the dining service and assisting residents with their meals. Key responsibilities include helping residents choose their meal options, setting dining tables according to standard operating procedures, maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the front of house, ensuring availability of homemade cakes, biscuits, finger food, and fresh fruit in the bistro areas, and being aware of residents' dietary requirements. The ideal candidate should demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene, compassion, and commitment to delivering culinary services. While experience in a similar setting and a basic Food Hygiene Certificate are desirable, these are not mandatory requirements.
