We are recruiting a substantive Consultant Cellular Pathologistatthe Royal Sussex County Hospital.
You will work within supportive and experienced subspecialtyteamsinGynecologicalandGastrointestinal Pathologytohelp deliver highquality,timelydiagnostics.
You will also contribute to leadership,training,research,and ourregional Sussex network collaboration.
Main duties of the job
The clinical duties of the post include the following:
- Independent reporting of diagnostic cellular pathology case with a focus on Gynaecological and Gastrointestinal Pathology.
- Participation in relevant Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings and provision oftimelyclinicopathological advice.
- Clinical supervision of trainees and contribution to undergraduate and postgraduate education (including BSMS).
- Participation in clinical governance, audit, EQA, quality improvement, servicedevelopmentand leadership.
- Adherence to Trust policies including information governance, health and safety, safeguarding and equality,diversityand inclusion.

Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Practice Nurse, 24 hours per week over 3 days, to join our friendly and supportive team
To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and in addition any roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate having regard to current training and the NMC Code of Conduct.
Although the practice does not participate in extended hours there will be a requirement to offer morning and late afternoon appointments.
Main duties of the job
This varied role includes but is not limited to:
- new patient registration checks, wound care, phlebotomy, pathology requests, vaccinations, BP monitoring, ECG recording, spirometry, urinalysis, health checks and monitoring, chaperoning and assist our GPs with womens health clinics, childhood immunisations, administering injections, ear syringing
- Administrative and professional duties such as processing and management of laboratory samples, monitoring and recording vaccine/cold chain storage, ensuring all patient data is accurate, legible and up to date and that all administrative tasks relating to a patient care are completed to a high standard
- Practice duties such as ensuring all clinical rooms are fully stocked with the appropriate medical equipment and supplies, engaging and contributing to team/practice meetings and being professional towards patients and colleagues to ensure a good working environment
- Be responsible for upholding practice policies and standards by adhering to all confidentiality, quality, health and safety, equality and diversity guidelines
- Any other delegated duties considered appropriate to the post

Main duties of the job
To assess, plan and implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for people with complex needs for their Diabetes management. The post holder is required to provide expert clinical care for patients and to support other staff to develop their competencies in diabetes management. Job summary
The purpose of this role is to deliver a comprehensive, skilled and evidence-based structured education service to meet the needs of the population of adults with Type 2 Diabetes in multiple settings.
In addition, the post holder will support registered nursing and dietetic staff in the management and execution of clinical practice. They will also carry out duties delegated and supervised by a registered nurse to provide a high standard of care and to promote a good image of the service.

- To provide a comprehensive community diabetes education service for patients aged 18 and above who are referred to the community Diabetes Specialist Nursing Service.

- As a skilled educator, the post holder will assist in delivering the framework for structured diabetes education programmes to increase diabetes knowledge and skill levels.
