Job summary
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Biomedical Scientist to join our Microbiology team, supporting and serving our clinical partners throughout the South West Peninsula.
Reporting to the Microbiology Laboratory Operations Manager you will be a part of the Senior Pathology Management & Leadership Team. This is an opportunity to utilise your existing experience and develop your knowledge and skills working within a progressive Peninsula Pathology Network.
This is an exciting time for Pathology having recently upgraded our current LIMS to an EPR. Our laboratories are UKAS accredited, have full HCPC/IBMS training accreditation and support a range of educational pathways to professional success.
You will hold a post graduate qualification or be a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Scientists and will be State Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and have significant experience within Microbiology.
The postholder will be required to work at both Derriford and peripheral sites.

Main duties of the job
- The post holder will directly manage a group of approximately 60 staff including scientific, technical, support, and administrative staff.
- The post holder in collaboration with the Laboratory Operations Manager, Pathology Service Line Manager, Deputy Pathology Service Line Manager and Consultant Pathologists will provide a timely, high quality, accurate, cost-effective and safe service.
- The post holder will ensure the timely processing of patient samples serving UHP, ICB's representing 90 general practices.

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor to join our critical care team. This post is designed to develop your generic skills building on the competencies gained during Foundation Training.
The Critical Care service in the Trust comprises 16 beds supported by a tier of seven Junior Doctors devoted to critical care. Seven Consultants run a separate critical care on-call rota, covering twenty weekday sessions with resident consultant cover until 10 pm weekdays. There is a well-developed critical care outreach service.
You will benefit from training opportunities equal to colleagues in recognised training posts. You will be mentored and supported in your specialist work by a consultant.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities include:
oDevelop enhanced clinical skills, especially in the assessment and management of critical illness and peri-operative medicine;o Develop competencies required to establish advanced monitoring and to provide organ support (including insertion of central venous catheters, arterial lines, intercostal drains, paracentesis catheters);o Develop and improve communication skills with patients, relatives and other members of the multi-disciplinary team;o Develop knowledge of clinical governance;o Gain a better understanding of the ethical and medicolegal principles surrounding critical illness;o Improve competencies in using IT systems such as electronic patient records and electronic prescribing;
You will further develop clinical knowledge and skills in Intensive Care Medicine and aid preparation for working as an Intensive Care Consultant or a Consultant in any other specialty of interest of the appointee.
The training opportunities will mirror those given to Specialist Trainees with support from departmental teaching, career development, training budget, Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) and allocation of a clinical supervisor to support career development.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Capital Team at our main hospital site for a permanent full-time Project Manager (Capital) , supporting the delivery of a significant portfolio of RAAC and other capital projects.
This role is vital in shaping the environments where healthcare is delivered. As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in creating spaces that are safe, modern and supportive for patients, staff and visitors alike.
Every project you deliver, whether it is the refurbishment of a ward, the upgrade of critical infrastructure systems, or the creation of new clinical facilities, will have a direct and lasting impact on the experience of those who use our hospital services.
We are looking for an individual who thrives on bringing structure and clarity to complex projects, enjoys working collaboratively with multidisciplinary and clinical teams, and is motivated by delivering tangible outcomes that make a real difference. Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for managing allocated capital projects and supporting the successful delivery of the Trust's RAAC Programme. This will involve planning, coordinating and overseeing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring agreed objectives, timescales and budgets are achieved.
Working closely with directly employed staff, contractors, consultants and other specialist service providers, the Project Manager will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with statutory, regulatory and Trust requirements.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that projects are managed effectively to provide the highest standards of service delivery within the resources available, while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice and governance procedures.
In periods where the post holder is not actively engaged in capital project delivery, they will support the Operational Lead for RAAC in the maintenance, development and improvement of the Trust estate. This will include contributing to initiatives that ensure the hospital environment remains safe, compliant and fit for purpose, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The role requires close collaboration with clinical, operational and technical stakeholders, balancing competing priorities while ensuring that project outcomes support the Trust's strategic objectives and enhance the experience of patients, staff and visitors.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Fellow in Multimodality Cardiovascular Imaging at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.
The post will be fixed term for 12 Months, commencing September 2026.
The aims of this fellowship are to provide the skills and experience required to gain competency in multimodality cardiac imaging, with a specific focus on imaging-guided structural intervention. The post is ideally suited to candidates who are post CCT with a specialist interest in cardiac imaging, or approaching the latter stages of their imaging training. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work alongside seven imaging cardiologists and six interventional cardiologists who form the TAVI/structural team, as well as the wider multi-disciplinary team of cardiologists and surgeons.
The cardiac imaging and structural interventional service in Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital has an established reputation for excellence and innovation. The group forms a significant proportion of the heart valve team, with a focus on collaborative working which is assisted by genuine respect and friendship amongst the group.
Main duties of the job
The fellow will work alongside the imaging consultants, and specific educational supervision/job plan can be tailored based on the successful applicant's experience and requirements. The LHCH multimodality imaging program is one of the highest volume in the UK and includes cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, complex echocardiography and structural imaging (procedural TOE and pre-procedure planning gated CT). It is desirable that the successful candidate demonstrates interest and engagement in structural TOE, along with commitment to weekly MDTs for valvular heart disease.

The cardiac CT service is led by Radiology, with over 2000 gated scans performed per year, which includes studies planning for complex surgical (Ross, aortic repair) and percutaneous procedures.
With regards to on call cardiology/general medicine cover, there are no requirements for this attached to this post.

Maidstone Hospital is a 410 bed hospital situated at the western edge of Maidstone, two miles from junction 5 of the M20. It provides general hospital services to a catchment population of around 220,000. The Accident & Emergency Department has approximately 100,000 attendances per year.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide a high standard of care to any patient for whom you have clinical responsibility. This will include any patients referred to you and cared for by you personally or by members of your team and, in addition, any patients of consultant colleagues when you are covering on-call or for annual leave.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with directly employed staff, contractors, consultants and other specialist service providers, the Project Manager will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with statutory, regulatory and Trust requirements.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for highly motivated doctors to join our rapidly expanding medical team. Our big practice with a small friendly team approach is situated in purpose build premises in the pleasant residential areas of Guiseley and Yeadon in Leeds.
Guiseley and Yeadon Medical Practice has been working very closely with Aire Valley Surgery and this is a temporary collaborative arrangement whilst the GYMP practice continues to develop and continues to grow.
We are a training practice and participate in a range of enhanced services. Guiseley and Yeadon Medical Practice has a dedicated large team which consists of GPs including Registrars, A Physician Associate, Practice Pharmacist. We have a new Nursing Team and our attached staff in house include the Midwifes, First Contact Practitioners, Care Coordinator and we have two local care homes.

Associate Liver Clinical Nurse Specialist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse with an interest in liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma to join our specialist Liver Nursing Team in a developmental role.
This post has been created to support the delivery of a Trust-wide liver service, ensuring patients receive high-quality, consistent care across Mid and South Essex. Working alongside the Liver Clinical Nurse Specialists, you will contribute to the development and delivery of specialist liver services across a range of clinical settings.
Supported by the Liver CNS team, you will play a key role in coordinating care, supporting patients throughout their treatment journey, and improving outcomes through patient education, early intervention, and effective pathway management. You will also support liver surveillance programmes and initiatives to enhance patient experience and service quality.
The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in hepatology while gaining exposure to clinical trials and research through close collaboration with the Trust's Research and Development team.
This position is ideal for a motivated nurse looking to progress within a specialist field, combining clinical practice, service development, and research to support improved patient pathways, early diagnosis, and the continued growth of liver services across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
o Integral member of the Liver multidisciplinary team, contributing specialist knowledge to support the holistic management of patients with liver disease across inpatient and community settings. Works collaboratively with consultants, radiology, oncology, primary care, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care.
o Deliver and promote high-quality, evidence-based clinical nursing practice within hepatology, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex liver conditions, in line with national guidelines and best practice.
o Undertake and support diagnostic and monitoring procedures relevant to liver disease within scope of practice, ensuring timely escalation and follow-up of abnormal results in accordance with clinical protocols.
o Act as a specialist resource for secondary and primary care, providing advice, education, and support to healthcare professionals to improve early identification, referral, and ongoing management of liver disease.
o Contribute to improving patient pathways by facilitating timely access to investigations, supporting surveillance programmes, and reducing delays in diagnosis and treatment, ensuring continuity of care across services.
o Support patient education and self-management by providing clear information on liver disease.

Trust Doctor in the department of Cardiac Surgery We are inviting applications to fill our Trust Doctor (ST6+) vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of Adult Cardiac Surgery. This post will commence October 2026 and is fixed term for 6 months initially with a possibility of extension. The LTHT is the largest NHS Trust in the UK and is the Regional Centre for Cardiothoracic Surgery. The Yorkshire Heart Centre is based at Leeds General Infirmary and serves the population of West Yorkshire. The adult unit has the capacity to perform approximately 1000 open heart operations per year. It has two theatres, 12 ITU beds and one dedicated cardiac surgical ward. The hospital has a busy A&E department and an active interventional cardiology programme, including TAVI. The Trust has a well-stocked library and there is access to the Universitys library as well. Cardiac surgery offers a busy teaching and training schedule. Candidates must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a license to practice at the time of application. Interview date: 28/09/2026
Main duties of the job
The appointee will support the middle tier (Registrar level) of the medical organisation which maintains a firm structure. The successful candidate will usually spend two days in the operating theatres, one half day in outpatients and one day in the adult Cardiac Intensive Care Unit on a weekly basis. You will take part in the registrar on call rota. Currently this is resident 1 in 10. The Trust Doctor will have the opportunity to attend and contribute to the teaching programmes within the department. You will be expected to take an active part in the audit programme. The LED higher is one of a team of Tier 2 doctors and Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) who deliver care to Thoracic Surgical patients. Although this Job does not have the deanery educational approval it will provide training opportunities at the same level as a registrar (StR3+) from the training programme sharing the same rota and the training opportunities. It will be suitable for a candidate with a dedicated interest in Thoracic Surgery or Cardiothoracic Trainees wishing to develop subspecialty skills in Thoracic Surgery or research.
Main duties of the job
The duties and responsibilities of the LED Higher can be balanced between service and training to support the successful applicant. All doctors will take part in a EWTD compliant non-resident on-call Rota (with prospective cover). The post can provide a period of dedicated training in Thoracic Surgery. A large number of Fellows who have previously taken up this post have managed to successfully apply for NTN Specialty Training and other pursued their career and successfully obtained consultant posts in the NHS including the thoracic surgery unit at UHB.
