Job summary
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to recruit a Consultant Obstetrician. Successful candidates will join a team of 25 substantive consultants. The post will have a special interest in Fetal Medicine. The Directorate provides services across 3 hospital sites within the county of Worcestershire. The candidate will benefit from working within a friendly and experienced team of Consultants.
As a Trust we have been actively involved in developing the training program for students from the Three Counties Medical School based in Worcester which opened in September 2023. We also have a long-established role in training medical students from the University of Birmingham and undergraduates from the University of Warwick.
As part of the Consultant Advisory Appointment Committee, shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide a 5 minute presentation on the topic: At Worcester we are keen to increase and optimise our fetal medicine capacity. With a focus on SGA and multiple pregnancy how would you tackle this within the department?
Interested candidates are invited to contact Miss Laura Veal to discuss the opportunity.
AAC Interview date: 30/11/2026
Main duties of the job
This is a full-time Consultant appointment in Obstetrics, with a specialist interest in fetal medicine.
The post holder will work collaboratively with Consultant colleagues across the Trust and will undertake clinical sessions at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, and the Kidderminster Treatment Centre. General outpatient clinics will be delivered across all main sites and selected community hospitals.
The successful applicant will be asked to work as the fetal medicine and Obstetric Governance lead and develop the local service in line with both local, regional and National requirements. They will work closely alongside the Governance team, and other members of the MDT, to ensure quality assurance standards are being met, guidelines are up to date, national audits are completed and they have oversight of complaints, incidents and any actions that are identified.
The successful applicant will participate in regular clinical meetings, post-graduate activities and maintain continuing medical education, in accordance with the requirements of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and General Medical Council. The post-holder will ensure their own practice is up to date and they support the principles of revalidation by the GMC. They will also be expected to support less experienced junior colleagues in the development of their skills both within an elective and emergency setting.

Job summary
The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH), Oswestry, is delighted to offer the Oswestry McGeoch Fellowship, a post-CCT fellowship designed to prepare successful candidates for life as a Consultant Arthroplasty Surgeon.
Named in honour of the late Mr Christopher McGeoch, who established the Arthroplasty Department at RJAH in 1998, this fellowship provides advanced training in primary hip arthroplasty, primary knee arthroplasty, and revision hip arthroplasty within one of the UK's leading specialist orthopaedic centres.
RJAH is recognised nationally and internationally for excellence in orthopaedic surgery and education. As one of the highest-volume arthroplasty units in the country, the department offers an outstanding clinical environment for fellowship training. In 2025, the unit performed 1,586 primary total hip replacements, 1,655 primary total knee replacements, and 157 revision total hip replacements. This case volume ensures exposure to a comprehensive spectrum of arthroplasty practice, ranging from routine primary joint replacement to complex revision surgery. As well as the full spectrum of revision surgery, the successful candidates will be exposed to fully cemented, hybrid and uncemented primary THR.
Main duties of the job
The fellowship will be supervised by Mr Robin Banerjee and is specifically designed to bridge the gap between specialist training and independent Consultant practice. The successful applicant will gain extensive operative experience, develop confidence in decision-making and surgical planning, and acquire the skills required to manage both straightforward and complex arthroplasty patients.
The proposed timetable includes two and a half days of operating each week, alongside dedicated outpatient clinic experience and revision MDT. Operative exposure will include primary hip replacement, primary knee replacement, and revision hip arthroplasty, with opportunities to observe and participate in complex revision cases performed by other consultants within the department.
In addition to clinical training, the fellowship includes protected time for research, audit, and quality improvement activities. Fellows will be encouraged to present their work at national and international meetings and to produce peer-reviewed publications.
The Oswestry McGeoch Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to train within a world-renowned Orthopaedic Hospital, benefit from exceptional mentorship, and gain high-volume exposure to contemporary arthroplasty practice. It is an ideal fellowship for ambitious post-CCT surgeons wishing to develop the skills, experience, and confidence required for a successful Consultant career in hip and knee arthroplasty.
