Job summary
Band 8a Advanced Speech and Language Therapist (SLT): neonates and lactation.16 hours per week (0.43wte)
This post presents an exciting opportunity to continue the legacy of a part time dual role of Speech and Language Therapist and Lactation Consultant; delivering a highly specialised and bespoke service to the Level 3 Neonatal Unit, the Acute Paediatric wards and complex outpatient clinics at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
You will provide predominantly in-patient SLT and maternal lactation support, to high risk neonates on NNU, though targeted and specialised direct intervention alongside influencing best practice through teaching and strategic innovation, influencing the feeding and neurodevelopmental outcomes. You will be embedded within an innovative and expert multi-professional team within neonatal and acute paediatric specialities.
The Paediatric and Neonatal SLT team at UCLH deliver a service across the Neonatal Unit, Acute Paediatrics and the Children and Young Peoples Cancer Service (CYPCS) and as a lead you will support the Consultant SLT in overall service delivery.
You will work closely with your counterparts, drive improvement initiatives and act as an expert resource for SLT, nursing, medical and AHP colleagues.
You will be engaged with service improvement and delivery across the regional Operational Delivery Network and with appropriate national initiatives both within the profession and across wider multi-professional networks
Main duties of the job
To deliver and shape an expert SLT service to the neonatal unit (ITU, HDU, SCBU and TC) and the acute paediatric services
To deliver and shape the lactation support of mothers/birthing persons of infants on NNU, including driving quality improvement initiatives locally, regionally and potentially nationally.
To support infant feeding nursing training and support as part of breastfeeding initiatives on NNU.
To contribute to the delivery and enhancement of out-patient service to infants with complex feeding disorders
To apply expert SLT knowledge and experience to drive service improvement and quality outcomes across the NNU and the acute paediatric service
To provide expert supervision to internal and external SLT recipients within this speciality.
To provide advanced level teaching/presentations to multi-professional, multi-levelled audiences.
To support the Consultant SLT in cross-service initiatives providing excellence in care.
To use the UCLH Trust values to drive innovation and good practice in care across the paediatrics and neonatal SLT service.

The Acute Paediatric Ward comprises of 15 acute inpatient beds with 4 designated High Dependency Beds and provides a service for children with a wide range of acute paediatric illnesses (including infants requiring CPAP and High Flow Oxygen therapy). It has strong links with the Paediatric Emergency Department and the adjacent Paediatric and Adolescent day care ward.The ward works closely with NNU preparing chronically ill infants, including infants requiring oxygen and airway support, for discharge home.

Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC Licence to practice as SLT
- Successful completion of specialist post-graduate study relevant to acute paediatric and neonatal setting, including knowledge of feeding/ swallowing disorders in infants and young children (e.g. accredited dysphagia course, feeding problems in premature infants and neonates, VFSS, Parent - child interaction, family centred developmental care, SOFFI, FINE 1+2; breastfeeding complex infants)
- Knowledge of detailed neurodevelopmental norms and how to support them including swallowing and communication in the high risk and complex neonatal and paediatric population (relevant to the acute setting)
- A robust understanding of the clinical governance principles (e.g. audit, clinical effectiveness, risk management, patient and public involvement)

- Member of a Neonatal/Paediatric 0-5 Clinical Excellence Network or equivalent

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Consultant in Neurology to join our department, anticipated to commence as soon as possible.

Main duties of the job
This 10 PA post will be across Epsom and St Helier sites, but will be predominantly based at St Helier Hospital.
The appointee will work as part of a neurology consultant team that provides an out-patient neurology service and a daily out-reach service to patients admitted to the hospital and will support the further development of the Neurology service.
The successful candidate will foster and develop common Neurology policies Trust-wide in conjunction with the physicians at Epsom and St. Helier Hospitals and in addition will work closely with other acute general and specialist physicians of the Trust.
The appointee will take a role in developing new services in line with the Trust policy. They will work with the rest of clinical and managerial team to deliver quality improvements in the Neurology department and in the community. The appointee is expected to participate in regular Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance activities within the Neurology department and the Trust.

Job summary
Applications are invited for an enthusiastic lower limb arthroplasty surgeon colleague to join our friendly department at the Gateshead NHS Foundation Trust. This is a substantive appointment.
An opportunity has arisen at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead to appoint a new member of the team to address the demand for lower limb arthroplasty surgery. The appointed surgeon will be competent to perform primary lower limb arthroplasties such as primary total hip replacement, primary total knee replacement and unicondylar knee replacement, following fellowship training in lower limb arthroplasty. We currently plan to increase the proportion of day case procedures, and we anticipate that the appointed surgeon will participate in this work stream.
Main duties of the job
The appointed candidate will have a firm grasp of common trauma presentations, ideally with fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma. Ideally the appointed candidate will have an additional interest in managing paediatric trauma as part of the local hub and spoke network for paediatric trauma.
The successful candidate will be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead with occasional off-site clinics. Gateshead is a short commute to the vibrant city of Newcastle and has the added attraction of being close to the Northumberland Coast and the Lake District in Cumbria.
The department consists of 10 full time and two part-time consultants, 9 middle grades, 3 surgical care practitioners and one surgical assistant. 3 ST trainees are allocated to our unit as well as 2 core trainees. Currently 9 full-time consultants take part in a 1:9 on call rota and this post will include on call commitments.

Main duties of the job

Job summary
This exciting appointment is for a newly developed Consultant Psychiatrist (10 PAs) post working within the Herefordshire and Worcestershire CAMHS Learning Disability Service. The post-holder will provide a consistent and child centred provision into the CAMHS Learning Disability Service.
The post is substantive with 10PAs per week being offered. The service operates Monday to Friday, with working hours primarily between 9am and 5pm. There is an on call rota associated with this post.
The CAMHS LD service is a friendly, multi-disciplinary team that includes specialist LD/CAMHS clinicians, psychologists and medical colleagues.
The base for this position will be discussed and agreed at interview and could be anywhere across the two Counties including Hereford, Worcester, or Kidderminster.

The Rheumatology department in Leeds is internationally renowned for treatment and research and offers the highest levels of service, and access to world class treatment in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
The Clinical Service Unit at Chapel Allerton Hospital consists of the Elective Orthopaedic Centre, Rheumatology and Dermatology and complex rehabilitation services.
The Rheumatology department is predominantly based at Chapel Allerton Hospital, Leeds. We have dedicated facilities for outpatient clinics, including imaging facilities with MSK ultrasound in clinic, inpatient wards and a day case unit. In addition to 20 substantive consultants there is a strong middle grade workforce of specialist trainees and clinical nurse specialists.

The Rheumatology department in Leeds is internationally renowned for treatment and research and offers the highest levels of service, and access to world class treatment in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
The Clinical Service Unit at Chapel Allerton Hospital consists of the Elective Orthopaedic Centre, Rheumatology and Dermatology and complex rehabilitation services.
The Rheumatology department is predominantly based at Chapel Allerton Hospital, Leeds. We have dedicated facilities for outpatient clinics, including imaging facilities with MSK ultrasound in clinic, inpatient wards and a day case unit. In addition to 20 substantive consultants there is a strong middle grade workforce of specialist trainees and clinical nurse specialists.
The department is closely linked to the NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre and the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine, University of Leeds, which are both on site at Chapel Allerton Hospital.
The department provides secondary and tertiary services including as a regional specialist centre of excellence.
What you will bring to the roleYou will deliver care to patients attending Rheumatology outpatients clinics at CAH
- Out-patient clinics, specifically including ultrasound, early arthritis and general rheumatology but can also be expanded to other subspeciality clinics within the constraints of the job plan
- To link with Consultant colleagues in other relevant specialist teams within the CSU and across the trust.
- To contribute to research, teaching and new developments within the Rheumatology department. The post holder will be encouraged to facilitate and contribute to the current clinical research programs on going in the department.

Main duties of the job
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing effective care, with an approach based on recovery and rehabilitation, to Service Personnel (SP) and entitled civilians, with timely access to skilled and effective assessment, treatment and occupational recommendations that meets the needs of the individual and the Chain of Command (CoC).
The team expects to receive on average 10 new referrals a week and will see urgent cases by the next working day and routine cases within 15 working days. The consultant psychiatrist is expected to carry a compact caseload of the most complex and unstable cases but will also be available at short notice to provide consultation and advice to other team members. It must be stressed that the caseload contains far lower levels of morbidity and risk than a National Health Service (NHS) general adult population and there is not a high emergency burden.

The Trauma & Orthopaedics department are looking for an efficient, organised and experienced administrator who can help support the day to day running of our busy orthotics clinics.
We are looking for an individual who is organised, customer focused, adaptable and able to communicate effectively with patients, clinicians and other admin staff within the department.
The role is varied and so a flexible attitude and approach to work is a must as no two days will be the same, however some of the daily tasks will include prepping medical records, receiving and ordering orthotic appliances, booking patients into clinic, answering telephone enquiries and dealing with colleagues both within T&O and across the wider trust. We need someone who will work well under pressure and approach tasks methodically and logically.

Main duties of the job
To support the Orthotic (Patient Appliance Service) clinics within the wider Trauma and Orthopaedic department. Assisting the team in providing a varied efficient and effective service for our orthotic patients and specialist clinicians.
To provide administration support to the patient appliance service, organise and prepare for daily clinics, including prepping medical records, completing administration, ordering and other support functions to ensure the smooth running of the orthotics clinics. Coordinating patients within the clinic, booking follow-up and new appointments, ordering appliances and ensuring they are ready for consultant appointments. Ensure that medical records are kept up to date with all relevant clinical and patient information.

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Band 3 Clinical Admin Officer to join our friendly and dedicated Trauma and Orthopaedics team to work 37.5 hours per week on a permanent contract.

Main duties of the job
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the ward, theatre and wider service, including pre-operative administration in line with GIRFT requirements. Support patient flow and discharge processes, including booking transport, printing discharge documentation and liaising with clinical, medical records, pharmacy and other departments. Monitor the DPOP inbox, support LOS data collection, provide data for service requirements and audits.
Act as a professional first point of contact for patients, relatives, visitors and staff, responding to telephone enquiries promptly and escalating appropriately. Support nursing and medical teams, the Nurse in Charge and Manager with administrative tasks, service improvement projects.
Maintain ward/clinic stock, stationery and equipment; arrange porters, equipment transfers and estates requests; and ensure the ward clerk/nurses' station remains safe, organised and presentable.
Work flexibly within a multidisciplinary environment, prioritising workload according to service needs and providing cross-cover when required. Adhere to Trust policies, confidentiality, patient dignity, health and safety, security, COSHH, manual handling, emergency procedures and incident reporting requirements. Undertake other appropriate duties consistent with the role and banding.
