Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will be expected to support the nursing team by undertaking a range of duties. Duties can include but are not limited to maintaining clean equipment following appropriate training, preparing supplies and packs for treatment, undertaking health checks with patients pre and post dialysis, escorting patients to the clinical and waiting areas and serve refreshments during treatments.

Join our dynamic Operating Theatres team as a Theatre Support Worker and make a real difference to patient care. Working under the guidance of Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners, you'll support all stages of the surgical journey--pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative.

Job summary
The Research and Development Department have a 12 month fixed term opportunity for a motivated and experienced Clinical Research Practitioner to cover maternity leave.
You will be involved with the delivery of high quality mental health research across a range of studies within the Trust and the Research Delivery Network; North East North Cumbria within a busy and thriving research team that has a can do attitude. A Clinical Research Practitioner qualification or willing to train towards is essential. The successful applicant will be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team and have excellent organisational and communication skills. You will also use a variety of standardised research measures and update and maintain entries onto trial databases in accordance with relevant protocols and Good Clinical Practice guidelines. The Department of Anaesthesia at Leicester General Hospital provides comprehensive anaesthetic services to a wide range of specialties, including obstetrics, elective orthopaedics, elective gynaecology, urology, general surgery, day-case surgery, and the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
Leicester General Hospital is a tertiary referral centre for urology and delivers major urological and gynaecological robotic surgery. The Pain Management and Sleep Medicine services are also based at this site.
The recently opened East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EMPCC) is now fully operational, providing day-case and 23-hour care across a broad range of surgical specialties, including general surgery, urology, gynaecology, ENT, and ophthalmology. The hospital has a total of 18 operating theatres, including two located within the EMPCC.
Main duties of the job
To provide Consultant Anaesthetic cover for anaesthesia, elective and emergency surgery at UHL including preoperative assessment and postoperative care.
- To participate in an Anaesthetic On-Call Rota and/or weekend emergency or trauma cover.
- - To support the provision of consultant delivered perioperative care.
- - Deliver a high quality anaesthetic service, supporting the department with a positive attitude towards flexible working.
- - Supervise and train junior anaesthetists.
