Job summary
The aims of this service are to meet the emotional wellbeing needs of children and their families through advice and guidance, guided self-help, brief solution focused support in the community. We have the opportunity to extend the team to include 10 further trainee CWP places predominantly covering Milton Keynes with travel to Luton, Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire localities, with some virtual support.
These are training posts to provide support to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The ideal candidates will have an undergraduate degree (psychology or similar) or be able to demonstrate academic ability to meet the requirements of the course, as well as some experience of working with children and young people up to the age of 18 with a range of mild to moderate mental health difficulties, either individually or in groups.
Post holders will be required to travel independently as needed within the community.
Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2027and posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions with children and young people or their parents/carers when the CYP is experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. They will also be taught how to deliver interventions in the community, for example participation activities, training and group delivery. Trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development.

CHUMS CIC Social Enterprise is an NHS Approved provider of clinical services to children and families. The service left the NHS in 2011 to become an independent Social Enterprise, affording the organisation more freedom to offer its services in a way that best suits the needs of the service users.
CHUMS is a Children and Young Peoples Psychological Therapy (CYP-PT) compliant service and has been successful in setting up an early intervention service which comprises of a large CYP-PT training hub. We have Family Wellbeing Teams in our BLMK wellbeing services.

The post holder will attend all university based teaching and onsite protected learning time required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.

Therapeutic skills
Assess and deliver, under supervision, outcome focused, evidence-based interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties within the community.
Working in partnership, support children, young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties.
Work in partnership with children, young people and families in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.
Support and empower children, young people and families to make informed choices about the intervention.
Regularly undertake the planning, delivery and implementation of participation activities in service and in the community.
On occasion, prepare and deliver training sessions to professional groups within service and in the community and evaluate the impact and outcomes of such training sessions.
Contribute to networking and building close working relationships with community groups and organisations to improve access to psychological support and enhance the overall impact of CWP role within the community.
Operate at all times from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity.
Accept referrals within agreed national and local protocols.
Undertakes accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
Adhere to the service referral protocols. Under supervision, unsuitable referrals to the relevant service as necessary.
Through close case management and supervision, escalate cases where the level of need becomes beyond scope, or more severe ensuring adherence to other relevant elements of service delivery.
Provide a range of information and support for evidence based psychological treatments, primarily guided self-help. This work may be face-to-face, by telephone or via other media.
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the overall number of children and young people contacts offered, and sessions carried out per week to improve timely access and minimise waiting times.
Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or CYP in treatment, where appropriate.
Keep coherent records of all activity in line with service protocols and use these records and outcome data to inform decision making. Complete all requirements relating to data collection.
Assess and integrate issues relating to transitions, education and training/employment into the overall therapeutic process.
Work within a collaborative approach involving a range of relevant others when indicated.
Work in collaboration with children, young people and communities to enhance and widen access.
Training and Supervision:
Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post including practical, academic and practice-based assessments.
As well as attendance at the University for training, fulfil private study requirements to enhance learning and prepare assignments for examination.
Apply learning from the training programme to practice.
Receive practice tutoring from educational providers in relation to course work to meet the required standards.
Prepare and present case load information to supervisors within the service on an agreed and scheduled basis, in order to ensure safe practice and the governance obligations of the trainee, supervisor and service are delivered.
Prepare and present case information and videos to course staff in practice tutor groups and other small groups in the university setting on an agreed and scheduled basis, to enhance clinical skill development.
Respond to and implement supervision suggestions by supervisors in practice.
Engage in and respond to personal development supervision to improve competencies and practice.
Professional
Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating bodies and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the relevant departments.
Ensure that confidentiality is protected at all times.
Ensure clear objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with supervisors and senior colleagues on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development.
Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives.
Keep all records up to date in relation to Continuous Professional Development and ensure personal development plans maintain up to date specialist knowledge of the latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments.
Attend relevant conferences/workshops in line with identified professional objectives.
General
Support the collection of data and facilitate data flow to the Workforce Development Team.
Contribute to the development of best practice within the service.
Ensure a comprehensive understanding of the relevant safeguarding legislation, guidance and best practice.
Maintain up to date legislation national and local policies and procedures in relation to children and young peoples mental health.

Pre-Operative Assessment is a nurse-led service at the heart of the elective surgical pathway, ensuring patients are appropriately assessed and prepared for surgery. Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Radiology Nurse to join the expanding nursing team in the Radiology Department.
This dynamic department includes a wide range of x-ray-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Lead to join our Mental Health Crisis Intervention and Home-Based Treatment Team. This newly created post will strengthen clinical leadership, governance and patient safety within a fast-paced crisis service.
This is a Monday to Friday role with no unsocial hours or weekend working, supporting a positive work-life balance.
The service provides intensive crisis intervention and home-based treatment, offering a safe alternative to admission and supporting care in the least restrictive environment. Main duties of the job
The Clinical Nurse Specialist for Respiratory will work in partnership with the named Lead Consultant to deliver clinical objectives for the Respiratory services. The Trust is seeking to appoint a full-time Consultant Cardiologist to join its established team of cardiologists and play a key role in the continued development and expansion of the cardiology service.
The department offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and treatment facilities, including CT coronary angiography, dobutamine and exercise stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, and a dedicated Cardiology Day Suite providing on-site cardiac pacing services. As part of a growing department, you will work alongside a dynamic, flexible, and highly motivated team of consultants and specialist practitioners. The successful candidate will benefit from strong multidisciplinary support, including regular one-to-one meetings and guidance from the Clinical Lead.
Following the completion of a major refurbishment in August 2021, the Cardiology Ward and Coronary Care Unit (CCU) were redesigned to create a modern Cardiology Unit comprising 16 inpatient beds within a single ward area. Of these, six beds are monitored and ten are non-monitored. In addition, six telemetry monitors are available for use across other inpatient areas throughout the Trust, enhancing the unit's ability to provide specialist cardiac care.
Main duties of the job
We provide a 7 day in reach service to our 53 bedded AMU, with support from the Cardiac Specialist Nurses during the working week. We are exploring new models of working with our primary care colleagues in the community as well as closely integrating services with our regional tertiary referral centre, Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. We were proud to receive a favourable review by the GIRFT team in Dec 2019 and our future development plans reflect the suggestions of this report.

The Division is committed to providing a training environment to support post holders in sitting specialty exams.
This post will provide excellent experience and training opportunities and would be ideal for doctors who have completed foundation training or equivalent and wishing to gain experience within hospital Medicine. The post-holder will be allocated a Supervising Consultant with regular meetings to discuss educational goals and achievements. You will be expected to participate in regular teaching that is available in line with your level of experience.
Desirable that candidates have previous NHS experience at min of F2 level or equivalent. The successful applicants may be required to cross cover within the various medical specialties. Posts involve the participation on one of the General Medicine on call rotas.
Main duties of the job
- Assessment of new patients.
- Plan medical treatments and appropriate outpatient investigations.
- Attendance on ward rounds and on occasion medical opinions provided for other specialities.
- Completion of discharge summaries.
- Provide senior support to junior members of the team particularly for deteriorating patients or procedures.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Community Administration service to provide relief cover throughout Tameside and Glossop. We are delighted to offer an opportunity to join our friendly and supportive Cardiac Sciences team, delivering high-quality cardiac diagnostic services for patients across Ceredigion and the Mid Wales region.
Our work supports people with both acute and long-term cardiac conditions and plays a key role in their ongoing care. Our services include 12-lead ECGs, ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring, echocardiography, and pacemaker implantation and follow-up. We also host outpatient clinics for a wide range of cardiac and respiratory healthcare professionals.

The role involves working flexibly across our services, supporting advanced diagnostic procedures alongside qualified staff, as well as working independently to deliver and interpret defined cardiac investigations.

Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you will take a lead role in ensuring clinic and diagnostic rooms are prepared, equipment is available and maintained, and services run smoothly. You will be responsible for organising daily workloads and contributing to longer-term planning to meet service demands.
You will support the Clinical Physiology team in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred cardiac services at Bronglais Hospital. Working independently within agreed protocols, you will carry out routine cardiac investigations and interpret results, while assisting qualified staff during more complex procedures.
You will help provide day-to-day leadership for the support staff team, working closely with your line manager. This includes organising workloads, supporting colleagues, and contributing to service improvement. You will also provide practical teaching and supervision to students and other healthcare professionals where appropriate.

Job summary
The role is based at International House, Wythenshawe. The successful applicant will be required to work as part of a team of booking officers who are responsible for providing a comprehensive and patient-orientated service dealing with imaging orders across a range of modalities for cancer and none cancer related reasons; supporting timely management aligned to Trust and National guidelines. The booking and scheduling team are cross site based and the team currently operate 7 days between the hours of 8am and 8pm on a rota basis.
This is a multi-skilled role, and the post holder will be expected to rotate on a regular basis within different areas/modalities. The team are also responsible for running checks aligned to HIVE to ensure internal targets are met and orders are managed within HIVE as expected.
The team are supported by an assistant and a waiting list manager per modality who support initial training and guide on day-to-day expectations.
Main duties of the job
On a rota basis to book and schedule aligned to referrer order priority for an extensive range of imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety is a consideration in all we do - this will require discussion for some procedures relating to general health conditions and medications which maybe contraindicated.
Validate orders against clinical indication - at times amending orders to reflect expected delivery times.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
As part of our commitment to safeguarding patients and staff, many roles at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This is a standard process across the NHS and helps us ensure a safe environment for everyone.
What is a DBS Check?
A DBS check is a background check that reveals any criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, or warnings. The level of check required depends on the role:
Standard DBS: Checks for spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings.
Enhanced DBS: Includes the above, plus any additional information held by local police thats considered relevant to the role.
Enhanced with Barred Lists: Includes all of the above, plus checks against the childrens and/or adults barred lists.
Who Needs a DBS Check
Most roles involving direct patient contact, working with children or vulnerable adults, or access to sensitive information will require a DBS check. The job advert and recruitment team will let you know if this applies to your role.
The Costs for a DBS
At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), roles that require a DBS check are subject to a cost recovery policy. This means that the cost of submitting and processing a DBS application if you are successful and join us, will be deducted from your salary within the first three months of employment. If, however, you withdraw from a conditional offer after the DBS process has begun, you will still be liable for the cost incurred.
