Job summary
Band 5 Occupational Therapist
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Therapy Team at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, part of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT). This is an excellent time to join the organisation, with significant investment in therapy services and the continued development of our Front Door pathways.
The successful candidate will join our rotational Band 5 programme, gaining broad clinical experience across both acute and community settings. Rotations last approximately six months and include specialties such as Medicine, Care of the Older Person, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Respiratory, Community/Outreach, Outpatients, and Front Door.
You will be part of a supportive 7-day therapy service, developing core Occupational Therapy skills and clinical confidence across diverse environments. ULHT delivers an integrated Therapy Service with a strong focus on rehabilitation, early intervention, and the prevention of deconditioning. We are committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care across the Emergency Department, inpatient wards, outpatient services, and community pathways.
Throughout your rotations, you will be fully supported by a large, experienced, and collaborative therapy team who are committed to your professional growth and development.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our well-established team of over 60 Integrated Therapy staff. You will provide high standard Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions within an integrated therapy team. These rotational positions offer an important opportunity and challenging career move for you to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge. As a department we are committed to excellence and provide regular staff supervision and appraisal. The department also supports occupational therapy students.
Our team is highly focussed on supporting your development and we work hard to ensure you will receive 1:1 supervision, regular training/peer reviews and access to advice and support.
All Occupational Therapist benefit from protected CPD time, as well as the opportunity to attend locally organised courses run by nationally accredited tutors.
The post-holder will be based at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, with an expectation to travel to and work at least one additional site--most likely Lincoln County Hospital.

Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Our patients all have a Solihull GP, and all have a risk or history of falls, often alongside complex vulnerabilities and health and social issues. You will hold an interesting caseload of patients, working with them and their carers and relatives to reduce their risk of falls, ultimately to ensure their goals are met and they remain living safely in the community with reduced risk in the future.
Your role will include carrying out face to face holistic, multifactorial falls assessments within patients homes and care homes, before linking with the team, other community colleagues and the wider BSOL network to work together to reduce the future risk of falls for each patient. Our remit is large and we signpost and involve many different agencies to ensure that we address all identified risks as far as we can.
You will also be involved in triaging referrals, conducting telephone assessments, supporting students and junior staff, providing and attending in service training, and assisting with audit, research and leadership.
We are looking to increase our team of Occupational Therapists within the Falls Team and have a part time (33 hours a week) vacancy for a Band 6 OT to join us! Please contact Helen Thomas for more information on 0121 424 5177 or email [email protected]
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard of Occupational Therapy within the Specialist Community Falls Team across the borough of Solihull.
To undertake holistic multi-disciplinary (multi-factorial) assessments and provide relevant falls prevention interventions with patients in their own homes with the aim to reduce patient falls and hospital admission rates.
To take on a triage and co-ordinating role within the team.
To contribute to seven day working programmes across the organisation.
To contribute to the development of the Falls service including involvement in ongoing projects.
To take an active role in supporting students and new starters of all levels and disciplines

Clinical Accessibility Support Officer
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust View all jobs
Posted 20 day(s) ago
Reference: 351-CEN2660-MF
Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, conscientious and kind individual to join our service as a Clinical Accessibility and Support Officer.
The post holder will work exclusively alongside a visually impaired Cognitive Behavioural Therapist within the Preston Talking Therapies service. This is a specialist support role, that combines clinical administrative support with a focus on ensuring that clinical information, therapy materials and digital documents are accessible and suitable for use by the clinician.
The clinician to whom the support will be provided is a guide dog user, so being at ease around dogs is essential.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential due to the role's close working relationship with the clinician and its context within mental health services. The post holder must also demonstrate discretion, emotional resilience and an ability to work appropriately with sensitive and potentially distressing information.
An understanding of accessibility and inclusive practice is important. This includes an awareness that the way information is presented can create barriers to access, and an ability to learn how materials can be adapted to address such barriers.
Talking Therapies is an innovative and forward-thinking service that provides rapid, accessible mental health screening, assessment and treatment whilst enabling people accessing the service to have a collaborative role in the choice of intervention they receive.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely and collaboratively with the clinician, who will direct and prioritise duties on a day-to-day basis. The role will include managing and inputting information into the patient's electronic care record, preparing and adapting therapy materials, and transferring notes and diagrams from client sessions.
A key aspect of the role will be making clinical materials and information accessible. This may include adapting PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, diagrams, PDFs and other digital resources, identifying accessibility issues and finding practical solutions in collaboration with the clinician.
The post holder will need to manage relevant administrative and secretarial procedures, deal confidently with non-routine tasks and use initiative and problem-solving skills. The ability to develop a strong and effective working relationship with the clinician is integral to the role.
Acrobat to create and edit documents, and a comprehensive understanding and use of Excel, powerpoint, and Microsoft Word, are essential. An understanding of accessibility principles and an ability to apply these when creating or adapting materials would be an advantage.
A willingness to develop further knowledge and skills in digital accessibility is essential, and additional training can be provided where required. The post holder will also be trained in the use and operation of the electronic patient clinical care record IAPTus.
