Job summary
We are looking for an experienced, proactive and people-focused Operations Manager to join our established GP partnership in Driffield.
This is a key role within our practice, working directly with the Practice Management team and GP Partners to ensure the smooth, effective and efficient running of our busy primary care service. You will have genuine responsibility for leading our operational functions, supporting our teams, improving systems and processes, and helping us deliver an excellent experience for both patients and staff.
We are looking for someone who enjoys making things happen, can confidently manage competing priorities and is not afraid to identify problems and find practical solutions. You will be approachable, organised and able to build strong relationships across our clinical and administrative teams.
The Medical Centre serves approximately 12,500 patients across our Driffield and Wetwang sites and is supported by a friendly, multidisciplinary team. We are a training practice and part of Yorkshire Coast & Wolds PCN, providing an exciting environment for someone who wants to contribute to the continued development of modern general practice.
If you are an experienced operational manager looking for a varied and rewarding role where you can make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with the management team to ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of The Medical Centre across our Driffield and Wetwang sites.
The role will focus on coordinating and improving the practice's operational systems, supporting team leaders and colleagues, monitoring performance, managing operational projects and ensuring that agreed actions are delivered effectively.
You will help identify opportunities to improve the way the practice works, support governance and compliance, coordinate key operational requirements and contribute to the development of efficient, patient-focused services.
This is a varied role for someone who is organised, proactive and confident working across different areas of general practice. You will need to be comfortable taking ownership, solving problems and bringing people together to achieve practical improvements, while working closely with the Management team and wider practice leadership team.
About us
The Medical Centre is an established GP partnership based in Driffield, East Yorkshire, caring for approximately 12,500 patients across our main surgery in Driffield and our branch surgery in Wetwang.
We are a friendly, supportive and forward-thinking practice with a strong emphasis on teamwork, professionalism and providing high-quality care to our patients. Our multidisciplinary team includes GP Partners, salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, nursing and healthcare support staff, dispensary colleagues and a range of administrative and reception staff.
We believe that a well-supported team is essential to delivering excellent patient care. We value our staff, encourage open communication and aim to create a working environment where people are trusted to take responsibility, share ideas and contribute to improving the way we work.
As a training practice, we have a strong commitment to learning, development and supporting colleagues at all stages of their careers. We are also part of Yorkshire Coast & Wolds Primary Care Network, giving us the opportunity to work collaboratively with other local practices and primary care colleagues.
Working at The Medical Centre offers the opportunity to become part of a well-established practice where your contribution is valued and where there is genuine scope to make a difference. We are looking for people who share our commitment to teamwork, continuous improvement and putting patients at the heart of what we do.

Please see below for detailed job description of the role.
Main duties of the job
Cellular Pathology invites applications for the post of Biomedical Scientist to join the Healthcare Science Support Team providing day-to-day support within the laboratory.
University Hospital Southampton NHS
Foundation Trust is one of the largest hospitals in the country. It is a national centre for both teaching and research and also a regional centre for Neurological, Cardiac, Paediatric and Cancer specialities.
The laboratories are sited at Southampton General Hospital within purpose-built, well-equipped facilities providing comprehensive diagnostic services delivering both routine and specialist testing to Wessex Region patients and a number of external referral sites.
Cellular Pathology includes neuropathology, paediatric pathology, immunohistochemistry and also incorporates the departments of Diagnostic Cytology, Biomedical Imaging, Electron Microscopy and provision of Mortuary services to the hospital, City Council and local Coroners. Approximately 51,000 samples are currently received and processed annually.
This post is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to contribute to a rapidly developing diagnostic service.
About us
As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to. UHS is rated 'Good' by the CQC and in the latest national NHS Staff Survey, we were in the top 10 acute trusts for staff engagement and for staff recommending the hospital as a place to work or receive care.
We support flexible working and will consider requests taking into account the needs of the service. UHS employees are able to access a range of NHS discounts, are entitled to a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and we offer a generous pension scheme.
Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct trains to London. The New Forest National Park and beaches of the Jurassic coast are also right on our doorstep. The city offers living costs 30% lower than London and 17 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted.
We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.

Job summary
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.
Please see below for detailed job description of the role.
Job Title: Lead Pharmacist - Sustainability Contract Type: PermanentMain duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join us and help lead one of the NHS's most ambitious pharmacy sustainability programmes.
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Highly Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (Band 8a) to play a pivotal role in delivering sustainable medicines optimisation initiatives that improve patient care, reduce environmental impact and generate significant financial savings for the Trust. The post will support the development of clinical pharmacy services, medicines optimisation and quality improvement across UHS, whilst leading projects aligned to our Green Plan and Net Zero ambitions.
This exciting new role has been created as part of a wider Trust sustainability programme that brings together pharmacy, clinical sustainability leads and operational teams to deliver transformational projects across the organisation. The programme is expected to deliver over £330,000 of recurrent savings from medicines optimisation initiatives, alongside wider environmental benefits.
About us
As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to.
