Job summary
Reporting to the SPA Office Manager, the post holder will assist in providing an efficient, effective and comprehensive clerical support service for the District Nursing Primary Care Networks (PCN's) / Specialist Nursing and Therapy Services and Health Centres managed by the Single Point of Access, which is based in the University Hospital of Hartlepool.
Work to a rostered Shift Pattern, covering 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, inclusive of Bank Holidays.
Provide effective and efficient use and co-ordination of patient data / appointment systems.
Processing of new referrals into the services within SPA into the patients appointment system.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages and IT / Email systems.
Act as a telephone operator, answering incoming calls and making outgoing calls
Work on own initiative, and as part of a Team, with direct supervision from Team Lead / Supervisors / Office Manager and leadership by the Service Leads.
Provide factual, non-clinical information to patients, callers and health professionals both face to face and over the telephone.
Provide ad-hoc switchboard / reception cover and customer service of the highest standard, at times at short notice, to the general public and other service users at the Health Centres within the SPA remit.
Must be proactive and have a flexible approach as this post requires rotation of staff across locations to ensure the effective delivery of services.
Main duties of the job

To retrieve and generate information to assist in the effective organisation of all patients in accordance with local and national policies and targets

To ensure all routine and / or urgent enquiries are effectively actioned within a prompt timescale using service processes and procedures and an accurate record is maintained.

The role involves drafting procurement strategies, tender documentation, contracts, policies, and ways of working, while maintaining accurate and auditable records in accordance with regulatory and Trust requirements. Mortuary services at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are provided collaboratively between the two Trusts and there is a requirement for the post holder to work across all Trust sites.
The service provides both Coronal and Forensic post-mortems. Post mortems are undertaken primarily at The James Cook University Hospital site and body storage facilities are available at all four hospital sites.

An opportunity exists for an Anatomical Pathology Technologist (APT) to join the Mortuary department. The post holder will be part of a cross site team providing a high quality, flexible, efficient and coordinated mortuary service to the Trusts and Coroner's Service.
Main duties of the job
Applicants for the Band 5 position must hold the L4 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology awarded by The Royal Society of Public Health and be trained in Mortuary APT functions.
Applications are welcome from candidates holding the L3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology awarded by The Royal Society of Public Health. You would be recruited at Band 4 and required to complete the L4 qualification prior to progressing to Band 5.
Applications are welcome from candidates wishing to join as an apprentice. You must meet the minimum eligibility criteria to apply including being 18 years or older and a UK resident for at least 3 years.
As an apprentice, you would be recruited at Band 3 and be required to complete the L3 qualification prior to progressing to Band 4 and the L4 qualification prior to progressing to band 5.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist to work as part of the Community Outpatient Physiotherapy Services . Clinically you will work in the Physiotherapy Department at the Friarage Hospital Northallerton and Community Outpatient Venues across H & R and Tees. Successful applicants will be part of the Physiotherapy Service in the Trust and there are opportunities for case discussions and an In-Service Training Programme. Main duties of the job
To work with the onsite Tobaccodependency Treatment Service (TDTS) and specialists to provide advice, behavioural support and treatment in relation to tobacco smoking.
To support the day to day running of the onsite TDTS to ensure safe, well organized and evidenced based care is offered routinely to all identified smokers and provided to all that access the service. Provide support in a range of settings as required for the delivery of smoking cessation service.
To support the delivery of the service key performance and reporting indicators for tobacco dependency.
Organise own workload and work unsupervised in a busy team. Maintain a high standard of work and prioritise own workload according to the needs of the service, individual needs including equality, diversity and social inclusion in all aspects of work.
Take referrals, including self-referrals, into the service and work with patients to identify the most appropriate tobacco dependency treatment pathway.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lead Pharmacist, Clinical Trials to join the University Hospitals Tees Research team. This exciting opportunity will support the delivery and development of a diverse portfolio of clinical trials helping patients to have access to innovative treatments and research opportunities.
Working closely with the Specialist Lead Pharmacist, Clinical Trials, you will be responsible for the management, implementation and development of the pharmacy clinical trials service within the University Hospitals Tees. Working closely with research delivery staff, the wider University Hospitals Tees workforce and external stakeholders you will play a vital role in clinical research to safeguard participants, healthcare professionals and the Trust by ensuring Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) are appropriate for use and managed in line with current legislation, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), local policies and procedures and all other relevant medicines legislation and ethical requirements.
The role is based at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation but cross site working within South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is expected. Working Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5pm, there is no weekend, bank holiday or on-call commitment.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the management, implementation and development of the pharmacy clinical trials service within University Hospitals Tees.
Ensure full compliance with current legislation, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and all other relevant medicines regulations and ethical requirements.
Liaise with appropriate University Hospitals Tees groups and committees in matters relating to clinical trials
Responsible for ensuring that the feasibility assessment and set up of new trials is completed, including ensuring sufficient capacity to participate in the implementation of this work.
Liaise effectively with all sponsors, relevant parties and stakeholders regarding the initiation, maintenance, closure and archiving of all clinical trials.
Participate in local and national clinical trial network to develop new contacts and ensure best practice applies to the service.
Provide support to the Research and Development Department in relation to Trust Sponsored and Chief Investigator led studies and grant applications.
Work collaboratively as part of University Hospitals Tees Research, providing advice and support to research and development and pharmacy colleagues as appropriate.

Main duties of the job
The role offers a varied work agenda providing medicines optimisation support around defined quality and safety issues across the 2 practices in our network, including the implementation and delivery of prescribing initiatives and reconciliation, with a potential to develop to undertake medication reviews across our population, fully supported by an experienced network of colleagues and robust operating procedures. The key purpose of this position is to support the delivery of a UHT wide project portfolio. We are looking for a Senior Speech & Language Therapist / Specialist Speech & Language Therapist, depending on experience, to join our team to cover a maternity leave on a fixed term contract for up to 12 months. Those seeking to further specialise in the field of neurosciences and who enjoy a mix of both acute and community working would be ideal for this role. It would suit either someone already working at Band 6 level, who is ready to take the next steps in their career development or someone already working at Band 7, with advanced skills in managing neurological dysphagia and related communication disorders. The successful applicant should have experience of working with patients with neurological disorders and have post graduate dysphagia training.
The Speech & Language Therapy team is looking for a team player, who can demonstrate an ability to work under pressure and be flexible in their approach to patient care. The individual should be confident working in a busy multidisciplinary team and be able to travel independently for community visits.
The successful applicant will independently manage a caseload of adults with acquired communication and / or swallowing disorders, actively participating in multidisciplinary decision making around patient care and developing service delivery initiatives.
Knowledge of videofluoroscopy would be advantageous but is not essential.
Main duties of the job
You will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality service within the specialist area of neurosciences. The successful applicant will provide out-patient clinics at The James Cook University Hospital, run a group for patients with Parkinson's Disease, with support from an assistant, and provide inpatient assessment for those with Parkinson's Disease. They would also have sessions on an acute neurology and neurosurgery ward, and intensive care, depending on experience. There may be an opportunity to work within other specialist areas eg Stroke / acute wards, depending on service need and individual preference.
Regular support will be provided both from your line manager and through peer supervision. The existing team consists of 4 other therapists, each with different skill sets and responsibilities, and 1 assistant.
You will be encouraged to take an active role in service improvement (both within our own service and our wider healthcare teams), clinical governance and continuing professional development of self and others in leadership and mentorship.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our friendly and dynamic Urgent Community Response (UCR) Home First Team at Redcar Primary care Hospital.
The post holder will be working under the guidance of the Specialist Allied Health professionals and will take responsibility for designated elements of the assessment, therapy intervention and the discharge for patients on the home first pathway of care and within the wider UCR service.
The post holder will have the ability to work independently, carrying out assessment and interventions for a specified and designated clinical caseload identified by a qualified clinician but also be able to work as part of a team supporting the clinicians with patient interventions.
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to support the seven day rota between the hours of 8am-10pm.
Successful candidate must have access to a vehicle for work purposes to meet the requirements of the role.
Main duties of the job
You will have the ability to work under pressure, be well organised, demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
The team is friendly and supportive and mentorship for this role will be available from the Clinical Service Lead for both UCR and Hospital at Home, Specialist Therapy Leads and the wider clinical UCR therapy workforce. We have a comprehensive training programme and our staff are encouraged and supported in their continual professional development through regular workshops and clinical supervision
