The ward will provide a comprehensive induction period that will support you to develop in to a knowledgeable and skilled healthcare assistant. There is a wealth of career development opportunities available to all of our colleagues, and you will be supported to undertake comprehensive training in specialist skills such as The Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) and Immediate Life Support (ILS).
The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting people in crisis and breaking down the stigma of mental illness. You will be working alongside a multi disciplinary team to deliver person centred, evidenced based care.
Main duties of the job
In your role as a healthcare assistant, you will report to the nurse in charge and your main duties will involve completing observations to maintain patient safety, supporting patients with regular, therapeutic engagements. You will act as an escort to patients, whether to accompany them on therapeutic community leave or for conveyance to another healthcare setting. You will contribute to and follow each patients care plan to engage them in therapeutic interventions, and will be encouraged to share your views and expertise in developing person-centred plans for care and treatment.

All applicants can expect to work a roster that covers both day shifts and night shifts, as well as some weekend working. Both day and night shifts begin promptly with a handover from the nurse in charge from the previous shift, and so excellent timekeeping is required in this role.

Job summary
The Peninsula Practiceis looking for a healthcare assistant (HCA) to join the practice in this vital patient-facing role with both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The role is offered on apart-time basis, for 16 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
- Carry out base-line observations such as pulse, oximetry, temperature, blood pressure and blood glucose levels, recording findings accurately.
- Wound care, venepuncture, phlebotomy checks and administering of medicines and vaccines.
- Injections - shingles, pneumo, B12, flu, covid
- Ensure that all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session.
- Update patient health records.
- Ensure that medical supplies are in stock.
- Act as a chaperone where required.
- Assist GP during the performance of minor operations.
- Communicate with patients, relatives, and carers including providing valuable health promotion and education.

The Peninsula Practice is a friendly rural practice serving communities across the beautiful Suffolk peninsula.
We operate across three sites:

Job summary
The Band 8a Occupational Health AHP Lead is a senior clinical and managerial role responsible for the leadership, governance and development of the Occupational Health Therapy service within the organisation.
The post holder provides day-to-day operational and strategic management of the Therapy Team, acts as the clinical lead for specialist therapy services within Occupational Health, and delivers high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including the assessment and treatment of a highly complex personal caseload across a variety of settings.
Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and senior AHP partners, the post holder provides professional and operational supervision to the therapies team and ensures access to appropriate specialist supervision for themselves and their staff. The role contributes to the overall success of the Occupational Health, Wellbeing & Staff Psychology department by ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met, service outcomes are monitored, and continuous learning and development is embedded within the team, subject to available funding.
The post requires a flexible approach to working, including the ability to undertake weekend commitments when required, to meet service demands.
The post holder must have access to a car for business purposes and have a full, clean UK driver's licence.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities
Manage and deliver a highly complex personal caseload within Occupational Health and Wellbeing (OHW), including assessment, intervention planning and monitoring of complex conditions; senior clinician for the most complex cases.
Provide highly specialist Occupational Health advice to patients/clients, carers and other health professionals, including expert input linked to clinical governance considerations.
Develop and coordinate delivery of specialist programmes of care across Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services.
Complete outreach and project-based clinical work aligned to Trust priorities (e.g. hotspot initiatives).
Apply advanced professional knowledge gained through degree-level education and postgraduate or Master's-equivalent training to specialist practice.
Leadership
Provide professional and operational leadership for the Occupational Health Therapy team.
Coordinate supervision and appraisal of senior and junior therapy staff in line with local guidelines.
Provide oversight of junior staff clinical delivery, including observation of assessments where required.

Healthcare Assistant - Outpatients Department Band 3 12 Months temporary contract - Maternity cover starting December 2026
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen and we are currently looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual to join the Outpatients nursing team within the Clinical Support Services Division as a Health Care Assistant.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in training and development activities related to the job role.
Under the direction of the Sister/Charge Nurse you will help us to ensure that we provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment for our patients.
Applicants should be excellent communicators and have a positive approach to patient care. A polite and courteous manner towards patients and relatives will be essential for this role, together with your ability to work under pressure, as part of a team as well as organising your own workload.
Flexibility is required as part of the role as the service works 6 days a week Monday to Saturday and also covers evening clinics until 8pm during the week.
Previous outpatient experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided to ensure you have the skills required to fulfil the position.

We have an exciting opportunity in Critical Care at Royal Papworth Hospital with an excellent team of nurses and healthcare support workers providing expert care to patients and their families.
We are looking for resilient, highly motivated and compassionate individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment join our large multi-disciplinary team. You will be involved in providing highly specialised care to critically unwell patients with complex nursing care needs. This includes supporting with transfers, collection of blood products, moving and handling procedures, assisting with extubating and chest drain removal as just a small sample of what is required in this interesting and varied role.
To support you in your career development we have a dedicated Critical Care Education team committed to supporting you. You will be expected to complete the Care Certificate if not already in possession supported by the clinical Education team. You will then commence the Critical Care Healthcare support worker competencies including supportive and assistive levels. To support your development in Critical Care you will be given supernumerary support, study days and our dedicated Critical Care Education Senior Healthcare Support worker will be there through every step of your journey with us.

Job summary
Working in a small team of Clinical Health Care Support workers and under the supervision of the Preadmission nurses, you will be joining as a vital part of the wider Multidisciplinary Cardiology Team.
Managing the day to day coordination of the Cardiology Outpatient clinics-these include Nurse Practitioner/Consultant/Clinical Fellow and associates. You will be organized, IT literate, a great communicator and always be patient focused.
Currently we work between the hours of 7am-5pm Monday to Friday.
Please note-we welcome informal visits.
Main duties of the job
Administrative preparation of the daily clinics.
Preparation of the clinic rooms
Collating all information pre and post clinic.
Coordinating the running of clinics on a daily basis.
Meeting and greeting patients.
Acting as a chaperone if required
Recording 12 Lead ECGs if appropriate
Venepuncture if required.
Liaising with the Site team if a patients requires admission.
Supporting outpatients with mobility if required.
Supporting patients psychologically if requiring following/during clinic appointments.
Using the Trusts IT systems
Being involved with the audit process and involved with the Improving Together process.
Demonstrate working under own initiative within the parameters of the role.
Contribute to the role development and participate in team meetings.

Job summary
The Food, Water and Environmental Microbiology Services (FWEMS) Laboratories are specialist microbiology laboratories within the UKHSA. Based in 3 sites across the country, the laboratories are geographically well placed to work with local authorities to protect the public from health threats posed by contaminated food, water and the environment.
The Porton FWEMS Laboratory provides a microbiology testing and advisory service to Local Authorities, Port Health Authorities, hospitals and commercial clients across the south and west of England. The laboratory is accredited to ISO 17025 and is recognised as an Official Laboratory for the microbiological examination of food and foodstuffs within the EU.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a technical service to local authorities (LAs) and commercial clients for the diagnostic testing of Food, Water and Environmental samples as an aid to the investigation of outbreaks, food poisoning and routine control. They will perform basic and more complex laboratory investigations and be required to supervise and manage staff in sections of the laboratory. The post holder will also approve test reports.
There will be an active involvement in the laboratory's Quality System, including leading and performing audits; and Health and Safety arrangements including working within Containment Level 3 facilities. An active involvement in the training of FW&E staff will also be expected.
The post holder will perform a range of advanced technical activities and provide highly specialist advice to other professionals and customers. They will supervise the FW&E Microbiology laboratory and deputise for the Unit Head and/or Laboratory Manager in their absence. The post holder will also be eligible to act as a Food Examiner.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a newly established and innovative Haemoglobinopathy team atLondon North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. This investment will support the development of an enhanced Red Cell Exchange service and expand capacity for Day Pain Management at the newly developed Ambulatory Red Cell Unit at Central Middlesex Hospital, serving adult patients across the North West London region.
This programme directly addresses the concerns raised in the "No One's Listening" report, tackling health inequalities and improving outcomes for patients living with haemoglobinopathies. We are recruiting for the position of: Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) - Haemoglobinopathy
We are seeking an experienced HCSW who has:
- Exceptional venepuncture and cannulation skills

Main duties of the job
The HCSW will complete performance necessary patient care tasks delegated by a registered nurse or midwife, under their supervision such as undertaking personal care duties, record patient information and lead on a new dedicated Phlebotomy clinic.
Undertake personal and professional development activities to uphold care standards, such as completing the 15 standards of the Care Certificate and the associated workbook within a timeframe of normally 206 months from commencement of employment.

Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a full time Band 3 Senior Healthcare Assistant (HCA) for the Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) Centre at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
The Senior HCA role will involve a varied range of daily duties, working as part of a multidisciplinary team, to facilitate the smooth and efficient running of adult and paediatric clinics in the PBT centre and rotating into the paediatric day unit. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a clinical role.
Permanent role- 37.5hours over 5 days
Main duties of the job
This role will involve working as part of our HCA and Clinical Support Worker team, working alongside a small team of Senior HCAs. The position will involve rotating into the clinic and paediatric day unit areas in the PBT Centre.
Whilst working in the clinic area, the successful candidate will be responsible for the co-ordination of adult and paediatric patient clinics, ensuring all patients are seen in a timely manner and by the relevant Health Care Professionals and Allied Healthcare Professionals. Room and equipment cleaning and preparation, stock checks and clerical clinic prep will form part of the daily routine.
The role will also involve a rotation into the PBT paediatric day unit, supporting our paediatric nursing team in the recovery of our daily general anaesthetic paediatric patients.
The right candidate will be encouraged to contribute to the ongoing development of the role and team and in turn will be offered excellent support and training.

Sycamore Ward is within the building of Hillview Lodge, in the grounds of The Royal United Hospital. Sycamore is currently piloting a 15 bedded all female ward. However, this will return to a mixed gender ward in the very near future.

Main duties of the job

To ensure service users and their relatives receive care that prioritises safety, effectiveness, partnership and hope.

Whipps Cross University Hospital is looking to recruit a Maternity Healthcare Support Workers (HCA) Band 3 who will work in Maternity Department. This post is open to individuals who are both experienced Maternity Healthcare Support Workers or those new to care. Individuals that are new to care will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within six months upon successful completion of all required competencies.
We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a hospital setting. The role involves undertaking a range of delegated clinical tasks, such as:o Routine maternal observations (e.g. monitoring vital signs)o Undertaking limited range of delegated clinical care duties (taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening)o Assisting with personal care and mobilityo Supporting patients' and newborn nutritional and hydration needso Strong teamworking and communication skills are essential to ensure the comfort, wellbeing, and safety of our patients.
