We have an exciting opportunity for a Psychologisttojoin our Integrated Mental Healthteam atHMP Preston, a category BPrison located inLancashire, housing around 750 patients. The site is based just of off the A59 and is accessible via public transport. Within this role you will work collaboratively with the Integrated Mental Health and will be an integral part of the clinical leadership team supporting the development of the psychological therapies service, as well as line managing an Assistant Psychologist and supporting them with the delivery of interventions.

Monday to Friday9am-5pm
This position is full time,however part time working 3 days can be considered.

You'll receive an annual salary between£68,082 and £78,808per annum - depending on experience.

Clinical supervision and service oversight support from the Cluster Lead Psychologist and support from the wider national Psychological therapies team

Main duties of the job
As aPsychologist,your responsibilities will vary. You will:
- Offer clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT)
- Undertake psychological assessments
- Support complex multi-disciplinary formulations
- Deliver psychological interventions to cases of complexity
- Deliver and oversee 1:1 and group intervention as part of the Trauma Informed 'Making Sense' Programme
- Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff where required
- Contribute to the development of audit, service evaluation and research profile as appropriate

Job description
Job responsibilities
The Senior Psychologist will work within a prison, where the need for specialised psychological support is paramount. This role focuses on embedding a trauma-informed and multidisciplinary approach to care, aimed at minimizing further re-traumatization for people in prison while also addressing the impact and secondary trauma of staff to reduce burnout. As a clinical leader, the Senior Psychologist will develop and implement evidence-based interventions that foster resilience and recovery among men in prison, while simultaneously providing support and training to staff to enhance their understanding of trauma and its effects. By working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the Senior Psychologist will ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health care, develop and implement trauma informed and evidence-based treatment programs in line with the Psychological Therapies Services (PTS) model, and contribute to the formulation of policies and practices that promote psychological wellbeing. In addition to clinical responsibilities, this position includes managerial expectations, such as overseeing junior/trainee psychologists, coordinating mental health services, and contributing to the development of policies that promote a supportive environment for both patients and staff. By cultivating culture of empathy and understanding, the Senior Psychologist will play a crucial role in improving the overall psychological well-being of the prison population and the staff, ultimately contributing to a more effective and compassionate correctional environment.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical -
To provide highly specialist psychological assessment of patients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with patients, family members (when appropriate) and others involved in the patients care.
To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to patients formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan;
To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models, and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses; engage in structured and dynamic risk assessments;
To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking in to account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors including historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group;
To contribute directly and indirectly to a trauma informed, psychologically-based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, promoting the psychological mindedness of staff;
To contribute a psychosocial, trauma informed perspective within the multidisciplinary team including for those patients not directly on the psychologists caseload and attend individual patient reviews and risk management meetings where appropriate;
To attend ACCT reviews and segregation reviews in the prison as appropriate and to offer psychological opinion about management and appropriate referrals in that context and, offer psychological understanding into CSIP plans to support management of patients within the wing by prison staff;
To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, highly complex/sensitive information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans to the patient, appropriate professional colleagues and to family members, as appropriate, and to monitor and evaluate progress during the course of multi-disciplinary discussions;
To be able to complete and interpret formal psychometric assessments;
To maintain accurate clinical records and keep the PTS dashboard up to date with outcomes data for patient/service and staff outcomes;
To contribute to the development of specialized individual treatment plans or packages of care for patients with complex psychological problems and who may present a risk of harm to themselves or others;
To be able to manage the emotional impact of working, often one-to-one, with people who can be in crisis, who can show high levels of arousal and can be actively self-harming or suicidal;
To work jointly with other psychologists/therapists, to plan and hand over the psychological assessment and treatments of patients that may continue after either transfer to other prisons or released in the community or other recovery-based settings.
In liaison with Mental Leads and/or Heads of Healthcare and the National head of Psychological Therapies, identify opportunities for and conduct service development projects in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team;
Participate in and contribute to CPD and peer supervision within the wider healthcare team;
Active engagement in appropriate practice supervision.
Teaching, training and supervision
To receive regular clinical supervision from an appropriately qualified and experienced supervisor, in accordance with the BPS and the HCPC guidelines and, where appropriate, from other senior professional colleagues and, to supervise junior psychology colleagues and other therapists and MDT colleagues as appropriate;
To provide training and supervision for members of the service (healthcare and prison) in the delivery of psychologically, trauma informed care and treatment;
To provide specialist advice and consultation and training to members of other disciplines within the teams and to non-psychology manager of the teams on psychological understanding, interventions and evaluations;
To develop and deliver teaching as appropriate for members of staff from other disciplines;
Responsible for planning, delivery and clinical supervision of a specialist psychology training placement for trainees on the postgraduate doctoral courses in clinical/counselling and/ or forensic psychology;
To develop further post-qualification experience in psychology over and above that provided through training by engaging in a clearly planned CPD programme in accordance with British Psychological Society guidance and in line with service model and needs;
To contribute to peer psychology supervision sessions.
Management, recruitment, policy and service development
To plan and supervise the work of undergraduate psychology students, and trainee psychologists and be responsible for their support in their placements;
To contribute to proposals and implementation of policy and service development changes in relation to psychology and psychological therapies;
To advise the Mental Health lead and/or Heads of Healthcare on those aspects of the service where psychological matters need addressing in line with best practice and service objectives;
Responsible for contributing to the planning, organizing, auditing and developing of policy strategies for the delivery of the psychological therapies service;
To contribute to proposals for and implementation of policy and service development changes in relation to psychology and psychological therapies within the service;
To take responsibility for representation of the profession at appropriate service development and governance meetings as agreed with their Line Manager and in line with Personal and Professional Development Plans (PDPs);
To contribute to recruitment shortlisting and interviewing as appropriate across the service;
Research, service evaluation & audit
To utilise theory, evidence based literature and research to support evidence based practice in individual/ group work and work with other team members;
To undertake project management, including complex audit, research and service evaluation projects, with colleagues within the service, to help develop service provision;
To prepare and present information from audits, evaluations and research to professional audiences within and outside the Organisation
To prepare papers for publication based on audit, evaluation, research and development work
To utilise theory, evidence based literature and research to support evidence based practice in individual work and work with other team members.
Professional -
To attend regional and national Psychological Therapies meetings, service development and other relevant meetings regularly;
To adhere to professional/accrediting body codes of conduct, policies and procedures (e.g. HCPC, BABCP, BPS);
To be aware of, adhere to, and where appropriate, contribute to the formulation and review of Practice Plus Group policies and procedures;
To maintain and develop high standards of psychology/psychological therapy practice by engaging in continuing professional development and co-operative working/networking with therapists, clinical, counselling and forensic psychologist colleagues;
To receive regular line management supervision by the Head of Healthcare
To participate in the organisations annual performance review and personal development planning process with the clinical supervisor and line manager;
To keep up to date with legislation, national directives, policies and NICE guidelines in relation to the work delivered.

The Senior Psychologist will work within a prison, where the need for specialised psychological support is paramount. This role focuses on embedding a trauma-informed and multidisciplinary approach to care, aimed at minimizing further re-traumatization for people in prison while also addressing the impact and secondary trauma of staff to reduce burnout. As a clinical leader, the Senior Psychologist will develop and implement evidence-based interventions that foster resilience and recovery among men in prison, while simultaneously providing support and training to staff to enhance their understanding of trauma and its effects. By working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the Senior Psychologist will ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health care, develop and implement trauma informed and evidence-based treatment programs in line with the Psychological Therapies Services (PTS) model, and contribute to the formulation of policies and practices that promote psychological wellbeing. In addition to clinical responsibilities, this position includes managerial expectations, such as overseeing junior/trainee psychologists, coordinating mental health services, and contributing to the development of policies that promote a supportive environment for both patients and staff. By cultivating culture of empathy and understanding, the Senior Psychologist will play a crucial role in improving the overall psychological well-being of the prison population and the staff, ultimately contributing to a more effective and compassionate correctional environment.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical -
To provide highly specialist psychological assessment of patients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with patients, family members (when appropriate) and others involved in the patients care.
To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to patients formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan;
To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models, and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses; engage in structured and dynamic risk assessments;
To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking in to account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors including historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group;
To contribute directly and indirectly to a trauma informed, psychologically-based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, promoting the psychological mindedness of staff;
To contribute a psychosocial, trauma informed perspective within the multidisciplinary team including for those patients not directly on the psychologists caseload and attend individual patient reviews and risk management meetings where appropriate;
To attend ACCT reviews and segregation reviews in the prison as appropriate and to offer psychological opinion about management and appropriate referrals in that context and, offer psychological understanding into CSIP plans to support management of patients within the wing by prison staff;
To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, highly complex/sensitive information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans to the patient, appropriate professional colleagues and to family members, as appropriate, and to monitor and evaluate progress during the course of multi-disciplinary discussions;
To be able to complete and interpret formal psychometric assessments;
To maintain accurate clinical records and keep the PTS dashboard up to date with outcomes data for patient/service and staff outcomes;
To contribute to the development of specialized individual treatment plans or packages of care for patients with complex psychological problems and who may present a risk of harm to themselves or others;
To be able to manage the emotional impact of working, often one-to-one, with people who can be in crisis, who can show high levels of arousal and can be actively self-harming or suicidal;
To work jointly with other psychologists/therapists, to plan and hand over the psychological assessment and treatments of patients that may continue after either transfer to other prisons or released in the community or other recovery-based settings.
In liaison with Mental Leads and/or Heads of Healthcare and the National head of Psychological Therapies, identify opportunities for and conduct service development projects in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team;
Participate in and contribute to CPD and peer supervision within the wider healthcare team;
Active engagement in appropriate practice supervision.
Teaching, training and supervision
To receive regular clinical supervision from an appropriately qualified and experienced supervisor, in accordance with the BPS and the HCPC guidelines and, where appropriate, from other senior professional colleagues and, to supervise junior psychology colleagues and other therapists and MDT colleagues as appropriate;
To provide training and supervision for members of the service (healthcare and prison) in the delivery of psychologically, trauma informed care and treatment;
To provide specialist advice and consultation and training to members of other disciplines within the teams and to non-psychology manager of the teams on psychological understanding, interventions and evaluations;
To develop and deliver teaching as appropriate for members of staff from other disciplines;
Responsible for planning, delivery and clinical supervision of a specialist psychology training placement for trainees on the postgraduate doctoral courses in clinical/counselling and/ or forensic psychology;
To develop further post-qualification experience in psychology over and above that provided through training by engaging in a clearly planned CPD programme in accordance with British Psychological Society guidance and in line with service model and needs;
To contribute to peer psychology supervision sessions.
Management, recruitment, policy and service development
To plan and supervise the work of undergraduate psychology students, and trainee psychologists and be responsible for their support in their placements;
To contribute to proposals and implementation of policy and service development changes in relation to psychology and psychological therapies;
To advise the Mental Health lead and/or Heads of Healthcare on those aspects of the service where psychological matters need addressing in line with best practice and service objectives;
Responsible for contributing to the planning, organizing, auditing and developing of policy strategies for the delivery of the psychological therapies service;
To contribute to proposals for and implementation of policy and service development changes in relation to psychology and psychological therapies within the service;

Who we are?
AMHPs carry out statutory duties under the Mental Health Act 1983 which includes a broad range of tasks including section 13 consideration, making informed, independent decisions about the need for compulsory admission to hospital, the use of Guardianship and Community Treatment Orders to support well-being in the community. As well as undertaking the role of Social Supervision under Part 3 of the MHA.
Alongside these statutory functions, we are committed to providing advice, consultation, support and training to our partner agencies and professional colleagues. As there are no age restrictions on the individuals we assess, AMHPs work across a wide range of services and settings. This creates opportunities for close collaborative working with Community Mental Health Teams, Learning Disability and Autism Services, CAMHS, acute hospitals and other partner organisations.
Our team is committed to continuous improvement and places a strong emphasis on co-production, including how best to capture and utilise the voices of those that have experience of being assessed under the Mental Health Act and to further improve practise for the benefit of those who come into contact with our service.
We are also deeply committed to addressing racial disparities in mental health care. Our service is dedicated to implementing the recommendations of Devon County Councils Race Equality Audit and actively working to deliver more equitable and culturally informed support and practice.
Main duties of the job
The AMHP Training
The Post Graduate Certificate Approved Mental Health Professional academic course is set at accredited masters level and will be delivered by University of Lancashire in September 2027 Mental Health Practice PGCert - AMHP Course through a mix of remote learning and practice placement. The course will be financially supported by Devon County Council, and we will offer support throughout your learning and development both from the Social Care AMHP service, the daytime AMHP service and the Workforce Development Team. We will be offering full support through your AMHP pathway and the academic course, however, there will be an expectation that once qualified you remain within the AMHP role to practise as an AMHP in Devon for a minimum of two years.
On successful completion of the programme, practitioners will be considered for approval by Devon County Council as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP). Approval is granted by a Local Social Services Authority (LSSA), and practitioners can only undertake AMHP duties once formally approved.

Job summary
We are looking for a Paediatric Audiologist to join our team working at community sites across East Lancashire. The successful candidate will be competent in assessment and hearing aid rehabilitation of children of all ages. They will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be experienced at communicating with children, families and other professionals. Experience of testing using ABR and other electrophysiological techniques would be beneficial. The successful candidate will have evidence of clinical audit and service development, and will be expected to supervise students and trainees in the department. They will work alongside other Paediatric Audiologists and Assistant Practitioners, under the Departmental Lead. We are closely linked withthe Newborn Hearing Screening Programme at Lancashire Women's and Newborn Centre, and are part of an active multidisciplinary network, theEast Lancashire Children's Hearing Services Working Group.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be carrying out routine hearing assessments on children aged six months and older working with an Assistant Practitioner,or more senior colleague for complex assessments. They will work within the wider multidisciplinary team and with children's families toformulate and implement management plans when hearing loss is confirmed. There will be responsibility for leading appointments to fit hearingaids to children with permanent and temporary hearing loss, and for reviewing these patients, carrying out real ear measurements and aidedand unaided speech testing. A basic knowledge of tinnitus counselling/hearing therapy is expected. Experience in electrophysiologicalassessments would be desirable, but is not essential.The successful candidate will demonstrate a good understanding of current, relevant professional guidance and recommended procedures, beable to work autonomously and have a recent CPD record. Knowledge of clinical governance and safeguarding processes is essential. The abilityand flexibility to travel to community clinics, sometimes during the working day, is necessary. The Paediatric Audiology service in East Lancashire is based in Burnley, and holds regular clinics at clinical sites in Bacup and Blackburn, as wellas in Children's Centres and Family Hubs where we provide counselling and hearing aid care in a less formal environment. Our catchmentencompasses many rural villages, and we work closely with other professionals such as Health Visitors and Teachers of the Hearing impaired tosupport families to attend appointments and best support their child's development.We are a small team, and as such work well together, maintaining regular communication even when working across multiple sites. We fully support our health advisors and do require that they pass assessments at regular stages of their training course. The course consists of an intensive training programme right at the start of your journey with us. There is an expectation you complete some Pathways Pre-module learning before your start date which we send out to you two weeks prior to the course. Following this, we will train you on a programme called NHS Pathways, this requires approximately 150 hours of training to be able to use the software in a safe, effective, and efficient manner alongside any other recognised training for development. This is covered in a 2-week course where you need to be available every day, Monday to Friday. There are two exams during this period with a 70% pass rate. Failure to pass both exams will mean you sadly can not continue your employment.
When you have completed the training course, we require approximately 75 hours of shadowing to run straight after the course has finished. The ideal situation is that you are available days, evenings and weekends. This is to mirror experienced call handlers in a live environment, but we can discuss your availability.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver a range of group and/or individual interventions drawn from relevant frames of reference, demonstrating sophisticated clinical reasoning skills. They will prioritise planning and delivering interventions for adults whose mental health problems have a marked impact on their occupational functioning and who have complex occupational needs. This senior position requires achieving an appropriate balance between the provision of specialist occupational therapy and taking on shared roles that contribute to the efficient functioning of the team.
As an emergent leader and skilful communicator, the post holder will liaise and negotiate across service boundaries and in varied settings. They are research aware, and use evidence to support and develop practice. The post holder will provide regular fieldwork opportunities for occupational therapy undergraduates, and contribute to the learning of other team members or students from other disciplines. They have responsibilities for mentoring and/or developing others and supervise more junior practitioners and support staff, delegating work to add to the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.

Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed individual to join a well-established and supportive multi-disciplinary team.
The Lancashire and South Cumbria Early Intervention Service (EIS) specialises in working with individuals aged 14 to 65 at risk of, or currently experiencing, first episode psychosis. Our team provides a range of specialist interventions including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Family Interventions within a hub and spoke model of care. There are four multi-disciplinary early intervention service teams covering the Lancashire and South Cumbria footprint.
The Lancashire Early and South Cumbria Intervention Service is based within the Children and Families Network of Lancashire and South Cumbria Care NHS Foundation Trust. We enjoy close working links with a range of community and inpatient services for children and adults.

Mental Health Peer Support Workers (MH PSWs) give support, companionship andencouragement to people experiencing mental health difficulties. MH PSW roles are based on direct lived experience of mental health difficulties, or experience as a carer for someone with mental health difficulties
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time band 3 Peer Support Worker to join our newly developing Pennine Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Team (CMHRT). Our Peer Support Worker will work as a valued integrated member of the team and provide a lived experience of mental health rehabilitation and recovery knowledge to support service users as they leave hospital and whilst living in the community supported by the CMHRT.
Main duties of the job

Job summary
Inpatient wards / units are designed to meet the acute holistic needs of service users/patients and carers, in a recovery focussed environment. This working environment is conducive to staff development and wellbeing.
The post holder is responsible for line managing and supervising a team of nurses and is directly responsible for the clinical and financial performance of a defined clinical area. The post holder is also required to ensure the effective management of sickness and absence, leave allocation, disciplinary investigations, complaints and local post incident reviews.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited from experienced qualified nurses with leadership qualities and aspirations.
Successful applicants will be able to experience a broad range of clinical specialities and have access to a comprehensive package of leadership coaching, education and clinical support.
We are particularly keen to receive applications from nurses with an interest in working with: Acquired Brain Injury, Personality Disorder or Challenging Behaviours and/or a gender sensitive service.
