We are looking for an individual with previous financial management experience in a complex organisation, who is enthusiastic, innovative and keen to work to develop services and support the provision of a high quality financial management service to both clinical and non-clinical teams.
The Trust has annual revenues of £1.8bn and consists of 7 Clinical Management Groups (CMGs) and 9 Corporate Directorates. We are advertising for a Band 8b role which will be supporting a large CMG.

Candidates will work closely with clinical and non-clinical CMG team members as well as the wider finance team and the Trust's senior management team.
The Finance service at UHL is embarking on a staff led improvement programme to drive forward changes in culture, behaviours and outcomes for staff working within the service and this post holder is expected to play their part in embedding and monitoring these changes.
For further details or an informal discussion please contact:

They will be the sole gatekeeper of financial information relating to the achievement of cost savings target to the Assistant Director of Financial Planning and Analysis/Group Head of Financial Management. The information they provide will also form the basis of external reporting to NHSE/I.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing effective care, with an approach based on recovery and rehabilitation, to Service Personnel (SP) and entitled civilians, with timely access to skilled and effective assessment, treatment and occupational recommendations that meets the needs of the individual and the Chain of Command (CoC).
The team expects to receive on average 10 new referrals a week and will see urgent cases by the next working day and routine cases within 15 working days. The consultant psychiatrist is expected to carry a compact caseload of the most complex and unstable cases but will also be available at short notice to provide consultation and advice to other team members. It must be stressed that the caseload contains far lower levels of morbidity and risk than a National Health Service (NHS) general adult population and there is not a high emergency burden.

If you need to advise us that you need additional help or reasonable adjustments for the recruitment process, please contact [email protected].
The Ministry of Defence requires all candidates who are successful at interview to declare any outside interests. These declarations will be discussed with successful candidates following the interview process and before a formal offer of employment is made, as some outside interests may not be compatible with MOD civilian roles. This will not, in the majority of cases, prevent employment in MOD, but it is a measure that must be taken to ensure that appropriate mitigations can be put in place to manage any potential, perceived or actual conflicts of interest from the first day of employment.
The Ministry of Defence adopts a zero tolerance approach to unacceptable behaviours, which includes bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, and victimisation. You will not be eligible and will not be considered for this post if you have been dismissed from a role for such unacceptable behaviours within the last five years. Pre-employment checks will be carried out.

The policy is Whole Force and includes all Defence personnel, contractors, visitors and other non-MOD personnel.
