When completing your application please ensure your supporting statement reflects the criteria set out in these documents by showing how your experience and skills apply to this post. We understand that AI can be a useful tool when completing your application. However, we are seeing an increasing over-reliance of AI tools, which can negatively affect your application as it reduces a candidates individuality, and makes it difficult for us to gain a clear and authentic understanding of your experience, skills, and in turn your suitability for the role. All submissions must be truthful and if you do use AI, it should only be used to enhance your application and not create your supporting statement in its entirety. Your supporting statement should be in your own words and must accurately reflect your personal experience and achievements. Where we have concerns that AI has been used to generate content that misrepresents your experience and suitability for the role, we may withdraw your application. As part of our vision to have a skilled, diverse and caring workforce, Dorset HealthCare offers support for people getting into work. Main duties of the job
- Stand at the front of the practice to greet patients and visitors in person as they arrive - this is an active, on-your-feet role
- Move between the entrance, waiting area and observation space to check patients in for their appointments face-to-face
- Take and record patient vitals and observations ahead of their consultation
- Prepare patients for their appointment, ensuring the clinician has accurate, up-to-date information
- Support safe and smooth patient flow through the practice
- Use empathy and de-escalation skills to support patients who are anxious, unwell or upset

Job description
Job responsibilities
We're looking for a Patient Coordinator to be the first face patients see when they walk through our doors. This is a hands-on, front-of-house role - You wont be answering phones, that is handled centrally. Instead, you'll be out at the front of the waiting area, greeting patients as they arrive, checking them in for their appointment, and taking their vitals to help prepare them to see the clinician.
Patients don't always arrive at their best - they may be unwell, anxious or worried. You'll be the calm, reassuring presence that helps them feel looked after from the moment they step inside, while making sure their information and observations are accurate and ready for the clinical team.
No previous clinical experience is required - full training is provided. What matters most is that you're someone who genuinely enjoys being with people, stays calm under pressure, and takes pride in getting the small things right.

We are a modern general practice, not perfect but reflective, learning, and committed to continuous improvement for both patients and staff. We are realistic about the pressures facing general practice and work constructively with system partners to support safe, appropriately commissioned care, while continuing to learn, adapt, and improve.
For informal enquiries, please contact Peter Heald, Director of Service Development and Delivery, at [email protected], or Amy Williams, Managing Partner, at [email protected].
Interviews are provisionally planned for the week commencing 9th November 2026.

Appointment templates, administrative processes, and clinical support systems are designed to protect clinical time and reduce unnecessary workload. Demand, capacity, and ways of working are actively reviewed to ensure care remains safe for both patients and clinicians.
About us
We deliver services from seven locations across the city of Lancaster and its surrounding areas and continue to invest in our services, workforce, and infrastructure to improve outcomes for patients and staff.
We are a progressive, modern organisation with patient-centred general practice at our core. By joining #TeamLMP, you will become part of a diverse group of clinical and non-clinical colleagues who work collaboratively to provide high-quality care for our local community.

4-8 sessions per week - you choose the number of sessions that suits your lifestyle and career aspirations.
We are looking for a GP who wants more than just another salaried role.

Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job
A varied clinical role
This vacancy includes a weekly out of hospital ward round, providing medical care for patients in community settings. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will help maintain continuity of care for some of our most vulnerable patients while enjoying a welcome change from consulting-room medicine.
A role that supports portfolio careers
Whether your interests lie in teaching, minor surgery, digital health, research, quality improvement or another specialist area, we will help you develop them while remaining part of a stable, supportive GP team.
Mentoring and development
Whether you are newly qualified or experienced, you'll have access to mentoring, peer support and opportunities to grow professionally. We genuinely enjoy learning from one another and investing in our team.
Strong clinical continuity
We believe continuity matters - for patients and clinicians. Our systems are designed to build lasting doctor patient relationships rather than transactional care.
Modern, efficient ways of working
Our total triage model is designed to improve access while protecting continuity and clinician wellbeing. We are constantly refining our systems to make work easier, not harder.
About us
Technology that genuinely helps
We are enthusiastic adopters of AI and automation not to replace clinical judgement, but to remove repetitive work. We use AI-powered workflows, automated monitoring and recalls, streamlined shared-care processes and intelligent systems that help us spend more time where it matters: with patients.
Exceptional administrative and managerial support
Our clinical team is backed by experienced administrators and proactive managers who take ownership of non-clinical work wherever possible. We believe GPs should be practising medicine, not chasing paperwork.
A team that enjoys working together
We are loyal to one another, value different opinions and are not afraid of lively clinical discussions. We challenge ideas respectfully, celebrate successes and maintain a healthy sense of humour. General practice is demanding - we think it's important to enjoy coming to work.
