We currently have a vacancy for a band 5 Registered Children's Nurse to join our dedicated and caring team within children's outpatients who has completed their NHS preceptorship programme.
Primarily working in Rainforest Outpatients, which sees approximately 250 patients a week within the specialities of Burns, Plastics, Spinal Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery and General Paediatrics and working closely with Daisy Ward; a 10 bedded burns unit including a 6 bedded Neurosurgical, Trauma and Burns High Dependency Unit. For burns we are the regional centre covering the entire south west of the U.K and also the regional Paediatric Major Trauma Centre.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will:
- Be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Have the ability to forge and maintain relationships with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Have the ability to manage a busy workload and to prioritise, quickly find solutions and to focus on the important issues when decision making is essential.
- Have experience in burns and or wound care dressings
- Be able to implement knowledge-based theory to practice.

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen at Dorset County Hospital to join our supportive speech and language therapy team.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic B6 Speech and Language Therapist wishing to develop their skills across the adult acute inpatient pathway. We will also consider applicants who would be suitable for a B5 developing B6 role
You will be part of our dynamic Speech and Language Therapy Team and will have a specialist role managing complex communication and swallowing disorders across all acute inpatient wards. You will also have the opportunity to work within our Macmillan cancer therapy team and the ENT service as required.
We will provide you with access to peer support, regular 1:1 meetings with the clinical lead speech and language therapist, appraisals and clinical supervision. We actively encourage CPD, attendance at relevant CENs and training opportunities including developing instrumental assessment skills.
Main duties of the job
- To work as a member of the Speech and Language Therapy Team providing diagnosis, assessment, treatment and management to adult in-patients with communication and/or swallowing problems with a range of aetiologies including critical care, cancer and ENT as required.
- To work with the Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist leading on Speech and Language Therapy specialist provision to patients at Dorset County Hospital referred with Communication and Swallowing disorders.
- To participate, as needed, in the videofluoroscopy clinic.
- To supervise junior members of staff and students.
- Develop and participate in training programmes across acute and community MDT's.

Bank Healthcare Support Worker opportunities
We are looking for experienced HCSW to register with our temporary staffing - Bank on Us service. You must have at least six months continuous, recent employment as a HCSW in a relevant care setting.
You will need to have achieved the care certificate through the NHS or be willing to complete within 6 months of joining.
Applicants must also have excellent communication and IT skills as well as a compassionate nature and a desire to provide high standards of care to our patients.
There are a variety of hours and shifts available across the different Trust sites and departments. and we are especially keen to hear from people who are interested in working day shifts. Most shifts would be on the St Peter's site although you could be reallocated to other areas across the Trust.
Once you have completed the Bank Pre-Registration process you will be booked to attend the Trust's Induction Programme which is approx. three weeks. This commitment is required to support and enhance your current skills and knowledge.

Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Cardiographer to join our friendly Cardiac Physiology team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This role is essential in supporting the delivery of high-quality cardiac diagnostic services, including ECGs, ambulatory ECG monitoring, and blood pressure monitoring.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the timely diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease, helping to maintain service capacity, reduce waiting times, and support excellent patient care. Main duties of the job
The post holder will perform a range of cardiac diagnostic investigations, including 12-lead ECGs, ambulatory ECG monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. Based primarily at Dorset County Hospital, the role may also support the delivery of community-based diagnostic services as required. The post holder will provide high-quality patient care, ensure accurate data collection and reporting, maintain diagnostic equipment, and work closely with the wider Cardiac Physiology and multidisciplinary teams to support timely diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease.
