Healthcare Assistant - Amber Valley Community Nursing Team
We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our Community Nursing Team . You will be joining a large and established team of Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses. Who are led by a District Nurse.
The shifts are allocated as early and late shifts which are 7.5 hours in duration. Early shifts are from 08:30 - 16:30 and late shifts are from 10:30 - 16:30. The team allocate these as per your working hours over a 7 day period with weekends.
We are looking for a caring and compassionate person who has a passion for delivering high quality end of life care. Experience within the healthcare setting is of importance to ensure that you are equipped with the skills required for this job.
Main duties of the job
Healthcare Assistant
The main duties of the job will include the following:
- Wound Care
- Continence management, including catheter care.
- Pressure area care.
- Communication to all staff within the Integrated Community Team alongside use of a laptop to write patient records within Systmone.

Job summary
The gynaecology team we have the exciting opportunity for a fulltime (10 PA) consultant post, within the gynaecology service at Gloucestershire Hospitals Trusts.
Any candidate who is unable, for personal reasons, to work full time will still be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content can be discussed on a personal basis. Job share applicants are also welcome.
The post-holder will help provide specialist gynaecology services, including cancer exclusion clinics. They will provide on call support overnight, and on weekends, together with appropriate teaching and supervision of junior doctors and medical students. You will be expected to work closely with general practitioners, gynaecology and oncology staff to provide a seamless service and deliver high quality surgical outcomes within national targets.

Our Women's & Children's Division
The Gynaecology Directorate is part of the Trust's Women and Children's Division. The Chief of Service for Women and Children's Services is Dr Simon Pirie, who also holds clinical commitments as a consultant in Neonatology. The Divisional Operations Director is Becky Hughes and the Divisional Nursing Director is Karen Pudge.
The Gynaecology service is based at Gloucester Royal Hospital and provides care for women from Gloucestershire. Operating lists are undertaken at both Cheltenham and Gloucester hospital with outpatient clinics being held in the Women's Centre at Gloucestershire Royal, Cheltenham Generaland surrounding community hospitals.

An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Band 6 health professional to join our experienced Specialist Movement Disorder Team as a Dystonia Specialist Nurse. This is a 12-month full-time secondment opportunity, working alongside a highly skilled and experienced team of Dystonia Specialist Nurses.
If you have experience working with dystonia, movement disorders or long-term neurological conditions, and are enthusiastic about developing your skills in this specialist area, this role could be an excellent opportunity for you.
This is a highly specialised area of practice within movement disorders, and full training and support will be provided. Following completion of the training programme, you will use your knowledge, skills and experience to deliver a specialist dystonia service and provide high-quality patient care. The role will involve working both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team under the direction of the Band 7 Nurse and Consultant team.
This is a diverse and rewarding role that requires sound judgement, discretion and decision-making skills to support and guide clinical care across a variety of settings. You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team across the Trust to provide specialist advice, support and education.
Main duties of the job
Provide specialist assessment, treatment and ongoing management for patients with dystonia and hemifacial spasm
Deliver nurse-led clinics and specialist interventions in accordance with agreed protocols, guidelines and scope of practice
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care programmes for patients accessing the service
Act as a key point of contact for patients, carers and healthcare professionals, providing expert advice, guidance and support
Provide education, support and health promotion to patients, carers and healthcare professionals to facilitate informed decision-making and self-management
Undertake specialist procedures and support the safe delivery, administration and monitoring of treatments, including botulinum toxin therapy where appropriate

We are now looking to appoint an ACC Clinical Coder who will enjoy the challenge of working in a Specialist Cardiothoracic Coding team at Royal Papworth Hospital (RPH) NHS Foundation Trust on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. You will be providing accurate clinical coding to National Standards and Clinical Coding rules and conventions. The ideal candidate will have good organisational skills, an eye for detail, accuracy & the ability to work as part of an established team. The coding team is based across our Cambridge Biomedical Campus and Huntingdon administrative offices, the post is hybrid, a mixture of office and home based. Initially the successful candidate will be expected to spend two/three days in the office during their onboarding period.

The SHCSW within Neurosurgical theatres is a member of the multi-disciplinary team whose function is to assist the team in the delivery of a high standard of patient care. This will involve undertaking basic and extended skills with indirect supervision.
Competent support of registered staff to provide quality patient focused care using extended skills gained from achieving a relevant Level 3 Healthcare NVQ/HCA qualification.
Contribute to resource management. Must be able able to multi task and be IT literate, as you will be using multiple Trust IT systems as part of your role.
The Neuro 24-hour service requires staff to take part in a rotational night shift pattern.

You will play a key role in the early colorectal cancer pathway, supporting the delivery of a safe, effective and timely Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) service. The role will involve clinical triage of referrals, telephone assessment, assessing fitness and suitability for investigation, identifying appropriate diagnostic tests & coordinating patients through the diagnostic pathway. We are seeking a nurse with a good clinical background & an understanding ofcolorectal disease, comorbidities, anticoagulation, frailty, functional status & overall fitness for investigation. Knowledge of the colorectal FDS pathway, suspected cancer referral criteria, clinical triage & the ability to apply guidelines & protocols is desirable. You will use electronic systems to assess referrals, request investigations & communicate with the multidisciplinary team, including colorectal consultants, CNSs, Endoscopy, Radiology, Cancer Hub and GP practices. Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to explain investigations clearly to patients, provide appropriate advice & recognise when senior clinical support is required. The role requires good organisation, independent working within agreed competencies & accurate documentation.Full training, competency development & clinical supervision will be provided.
Main duties of the job
The STT Colorectal Nurse will play a key role in the early assessment & management of patients referred through the colorectal suspected cancer pathway. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and clinically triaging referrals in line with the colorectalFaster Diagnosis Standard pathway, referral criteria, local protocols and national guidance.
- Assessing clinical information and undertaking telephone assessment where required to establish relevant history, comorbidities, medication, anticoagulation, frailty, functional status and fitness for investigation.
- Identifying the most appropriate diagnostic investigation and arranging or requesting this through electronic systems in a timely manner.
- Recognising patients requiring further assessment or senior clinical review and escalating appropriately.
- Applying clinical guidelines, protocols and agreed pathways while working within professional competence and scope of practice
- Maintaining accurate electronic records & monitoring patients through the diagnostic pathway, identifying and escalating potential delays.
- Liaising effectively with patients, GPs, colorectal consultants, CNSs, Endoscopy, Radiology, Cancer Hub, booking teams and other members of the MDT.

The Senior Health Care Assistant plays a key role in our Community Services team. This service includes the Hospice at Home team, the Wellbeing Programme, and the Rapid Response service, which is delivered in partnership with South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.
This role will primarily be focused on supporting patients within the Hospice at Home and Wellbeing Programme, working across a 7-day rota between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm. On occasion, the postholder will be required to work within the Rapid Response team, which is a 24-hour service and will include internal rotation onto night shifts from 8:00pm to 8:00am.
When working within the Hospice at Home team, the Senior Health Care Assistant will provide high-quality palliative and end-of-life care to patients and their families in their own homes. This care involves supporting patients with personal care, emotional wellbeing, and practical needs. The role will also include delivering short periods of respite care, offering essential support and rest to family members and carers during what is often an emotionally challenging time.
A key part of the role involves close collaboration with colleagues from the NHS, social services, local care homes, and voluntary sector organisations to ensure that each patient's preferences, particularly the wish to remain and die at home are fully supported and respected.
Within the Wellbeing Programme, the Senior Health Care Assistant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of life for patients and those close to them within the hospice setting. This will involve promoting a reablement approach and contributing to wellbeing-focused models of care that support patients to maintain their independence, dignity, and comfort.
There may be occasions when the Senior Health Care Assistant is required to support the Rapid Response team. In this capacity, they will work alongside an experienced, qualified palliative care nurse to deliver urgent care to patients experiencing distressing or uncontrolled symptoms that require immediate intervention. This is an essential part of our round-the-clock care provision, ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate support during crisis situations.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in delivering palliative, end-of-life, or community-based care. They will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to offer emotional support to patients and families in often sensitive and difficult circumstances. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential, along with a flexible approach to working patterns, including the ability to cover occasional night shifts.

The Senior Health Care Assistant plays a key role in our Community Services team. This service includes the Hospice at Home team, the Wellbeing Programme, and the Rapid Response service, which is delivered in partnership with South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.
This role will primarily be focused on supporting patients within the Hospice at Home and Wellbeing Programme, working across a 7-day rota between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm. On occasion, the postholder will be required to work within the Rapid Response team, which is a 24-hour service and will include internal rotation onto night shifts from 8:00pm to 8:00am.
When working within the Hospice at Home team, the Senior Health Care Assistant will provide high-quality palliative and end-of-life care to patients and their families in their own homes. This care involves supporting patients with personal care, emotional wellbeing, and practical needs. The role will also include delivering short periods of respite care, offering essential support and rest to family members and carers during what is often an emotionally challenging time.
A key part of the role involves close collaboration with colleagues from the NHS, social services, local care homes, and voluntary sector organisations to ensure that each patient's preferences, particularly the wish to remain and die at home are fully supported and respected.
Within the Wellbeing Programme, the Senior Health Care Assistant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of life for patients and those close to them within the hospice setting. This will involve promoting a reablement approach and contributing to wellbeing-focused models of care that support patients to maintain their independence, dignity, and comfort.
There may be occasions when the Senior Health Care Assistant is required to support the Rapid Response team. In this capacity, they will work alongside an experienced, qualified palliative care nurse to deliver urgent care to patients experiencing distressing or uncontrolled symptoms that require immediate intervention. This is an essential part of our round-the-clock care provision, ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate support during crisis situations.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in delivering palliative, end-of-life, or community-based care. They will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to offer emotional support to patients and families in often sensitive and difficult circumstances. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential, along with a flexible approach to working patterns, including the ability to cover occasional night shifts.
A recognised Health Care Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience) is required, along with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care, confidentiality, and professionalism. During our programme you will work through the 15 Standards of the Care Certificate, learning how to meet the daily living needs of your patients as well as being a part of the NHS healthcare team. This includes supporting Nurses and other healthcare practitioners in providing patient care, from hygiene to personal and physical comfort.
Typical duties will involve but not limited to:
- Carry out clinical procedures/tasks as required.
- Clinical tasks will be determined by the nature of your work and local policy e.g. monitoring the effects of medication.
- Obtain and test samples and other specimens
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
- Contribute to discharge process
- Care of wounds
- Check pain levels and requesting pain relieving medication on patients behalf
- Assist in preparing for clinical procedures and clearing the environment as appropriate
Please note that we require:
- You must be over the age of 18 before the planned classroom training week.
- You work at least 30 hours a week across earlies, late's and nights during the programme.
- You have a passion for care and can demonstrate the six enduring values that underpin compassion in practice.
- We will consider applicants with at least 3 months healthcare experience within the last 2 years.
