Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
- Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required
- NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills

Job summary
Ward 26B is an elective surgical ward caring for patients undergoing planned surgical procedures booked through the Trust's waiting list coordinators. The ward admits and cares for patients from a range of surgical specialties.
In addition, during periods of reduced elective activity, the ward supports patient flow by receiving and caring for non-elective surgical patients from Ward 32B.
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of high-quality patient care for patients admitted directly from theatre recovery (Mediroom) and Intensive Care Units (ICU).
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a broad range of advanced surgical nursing skills, including:
- Stoma care and bowel management
- Complex wound care
- Nasogastric tube insertion and management
- PICC line care and management
- Administration and monitoring of syringe drivers
- Management of Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA)
- Management of epidural analgesia
The post holder will provide day-to-day supervision, support, and guidance to Health Care Support Workers, student nurses, and other junior members of the nursing team, contributing to a positive learning environment and promoting high standards of clinical practice.The role requires flexibility to work a full range of shifts, including:
- Long days: 07:00 to 19:30
- Nights: 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekends and bank holidays as required
- No fixed shift or pattern available .
Main duties of the job
o Registered nurse with current NMC licence to practice and experience within an acute hospital setting.
o Evidence of continued professional development i.e. a professional portfolio and participation in appraisal and development review.
o To have achieved a recognised teaching & assessing qualification.
o Completion of training for additional clinical skills required in the ward/department
o Green card training for the use of pumps or machinery relevant to the ward or department.
o Evidence of attendance at mandatory training appropriate to the role.
o Competence in the use of computers and electronic communication systems or expectation to develop existing skills further as the needs of the service dictate.
o Evidence of an ability to critically appraise and utilise research to maintain and improve patient care.
o Sound knowledge of health promotion issues to ensure junior staff, patients and carers are provided with education, support and advice as required.
o Evidence of experience and knowledge of the importance of resource management including protocols for staff utilisation, equipment, and products for clinical care.

Physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
Hold responsibility for own complex caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an assistant psychology post to work with the Lancashire and South Cumbria Early Intervention in Psychosis service, specifically to support clinicians in the delivery of evidence based interventions, including Psychosocial Interventions (PSI) and Behavioural Family Therapy for service users experiencing a First Episode of Psychosis or At Risk Mental State (ARMS).
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual, with an interest in working with people with psychosis or at risk mental states. You will be working as part of a team of clinical psychologists and cognitive behavioural therapists, primarily supporting the delivery of psychosocial and family interventions in community teams. Main duties will include supporting the delivery and evaluation of interventions, attending group supervision, MDT case discussions, literature searching and audit work.
You will be joining a dynamic and busy team with a range of psychologists and CBT therapists, working alongside an MDT of psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, STR workers and peer support workers.
Clinical supervision is integral to this post and to the service. It affords an excellent opportunity for the post holder to develop their skills and knowledge in PSI, family interventions and CBT for psychosis and ARMS.
Main duties of the job
As an assistant psychologist you will be supporting the delivery of family intervention and PSI work for service users experiencing a first episode of psychosis or an at risk mental state.
The successful candidates will work with service users predominantly who have experienced an episode of psychosis, or who are thought to be at risk of developing psychosis.
Supervision is an integral part of this role and you will be supported with regular access to supervision by a consistent colleague in the team.
It is desirable to have an interest in working with people experiencing psychosis and at risk mental states.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of health and wellbeing worker on Byron ward at the Harbour!
This role will involve working on an adult female PICU mental health ward, supporting service users with accessing meaningful activity during their admissions. Examples of this may be around supporting patients to access the gym and sports hall, taking patients jogging, leading on art and craft groups on the ward, etc.
It is expected that the right person for the job will have the skills to work both autonomously and as part of the wider ward team. You will be supported by colleagues on the ward, as well as the wider occupational therapy team who will provide support and guidance.
This can be a challenging role, but a very rewarding role for the right person.
Supporting patients to access meaningful activity both on and off the ward, often leading on 1:1 and group sessions. These may include access to sports hall and exercise opportunities, as well as cooking groups, art and craft groups, gardening groups, etc.
At times you may also be required to support with meal times, supporting patients on enhanced levels of observations and supporting patients to attend appointments and with periods of escorted leave off the ward.
Main duties of the job
Whilst working on the Mental Health Unit you will be required to:-
Work as an integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), working within a rotational shift system to support service users according to their care needs, some of whom may present with problematic or challenging behaviour. The key areas being:o Contribute to, and participate in the on-going support of service users and their carers and help gain/re-gain Activities of Daily Living.o Contribute to the protection of service users, from abuse. o Contribute to the health, safety and security of service users and their environment.o Obtain, transmit and store information relating to the delivery of a care service.

This role involves delivering structured Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions across both individual and group settings within residential and remote treatment programmes. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide psychologically informed, trauma-informed care that supports long-term recovery and wellbeing.

The South Cumbria team is one of our local MDTs and are currently looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join them. They will join our multi-disciplinary front of house team, TOCALS (Transfer of Care Advice and Liaison Service), as a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist. TOCALS support a large variety of patients, presentations and pathologies, including those experiencing falls and frailty, neurological conditions, cardio respiratory conditions and trauma and orthopaedic problems (including major trauma patients).
TOCALS support prevention of unnecessary admission into an acute hospital to avoid the risks associated with this. The aim is to achieve high quality person centred care which considers the patient holistically, promoting their independence and wellbeing. TOCALS play a pivotal role in promoting excellent links between acute, intermediate, community and third sector services; this is vital to ensure continuity of care, and promote the right care, in the right place, at the first time approach.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will require extensive post graduate experience across a broad array of clinical areas, which they can apply to the diverse populations who present to front of house services. They will need to be able to provide highly specialist assessments, with a focus upon discharge planning, from which they can develop and implement co-produced, personalised high quality plans for patients. The post holder will play a key role in following the patients' journeys through hospital, and out into the community.
The post holder will be able to evidence a passion for high quality care and experience of service improvement, particularly where this links with national drivers. Strong leadership, organisational and team management skill are essential, with the need to lead a team in pressurised and fast pace environments. Continuous personal and professional development is essential to ensure TOCALS is responsive to current evidence based practice and population needs. The Clinical Lead Physiotherapist will support leading an in-service training programme for the team, promoting the team to be reflective life-long learners. They will also support staff supervision and annual reviews. Job summary
We are looking for high-performing individuals to join our existing team of Acute Medicine Consultants at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. There are currently seventeen Acute Medicine Consultants and Specialists who are supported by a wider team of consultant colleagues from other specialties to manage patients within our service.
Candidates are required to have MBBS or an equivalent primary medical qualification, full MRCP qualification and a CCT or CESR in Acute Medicine. We will consider candidates with a CCT or CESR in General Medicine, providing they can show sufficient experience in Acute Medicine at consultant-level.
The Acute Medicine department includes an Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Short Stay ward as well as a Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) and Medical Receiving Unit (MRU). The Acute Medicine team is made up of 17 Consultants and Specialists who are supported by consultant colleagues from other departments to deliver care across our Acute Medicine and Short Stay areas. Opportunities for teaching are available in our simulation suite and clinical skills area. Other areas of special interest are encouraged.
The standard job plan is 10PA but less-than-full-time working is welcomed. The breakdown of job plans will be agreed with the successful candidates, using a standardised tool to ensure parity between colleagues.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
The post attracts 10 PAs, including 1.5 core SPA in the expectation that career-grade medical staff will undertake additional roles as part of their normal agreed job plan. The appointee will have responsibilities across the department, but there will be opportunities to develop subspecialty interests depending on experience and service needs.
Clinical
Responsibilities include ward rounds of our footprint of 94 inpatient beds, assessment of new and follow up patients presenting to same day emergency care (SDEC) and full participation in an acute medicine rota covering 0800-1600 and 1600-2100 shifts. Weekend ward rounds are included on a 1-in-6 basis (WTE). The role generates a degree of administrational work. The appointee will be expected to respond to results appropriately and liaise with other teams as required.
Clinical Governance
There is an active governance structure that includes a monthly morbidity and mortality meeting. As well as being expected to prepare cases to present in the meeting, the appointee will recognise and respond to risks and incidents using widely used reporting systems. They will investigate and respond to patient complaints in a courteous and timely manner. They will contribute to audit of departmental and hospital-wide standards as well as leading quality improvement projects to address concerns.
Management
The post holder will be accountable for clinical matters to the Clinical Service lead.
