Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for providing a fit testing service for all staff that may be required to wear tight fitting respirators (re-usable or single use) as part of the job. The post holder will be fully trained for both the qualitative and quantitative fit testing methods. The post holder will be responsible for providing high level of comprehensive support to staff being mask fit tested, including:
- Training on 'donning' and 'doffing' personal protective equipment
- Adequacy and suitability of tight-fitting masks
- Training on how to use face masks safely
- Guidance on correct handling and storage of PPE
- Guidance on when to use respirators
The post holder will need to have excellent customer care to provide professional, reliable and consistent service. The post holder will develop and maintain relationships with staff from all areas to monitor and deliver the programme; this will also require excellent organisation skills for administration and record keeping.
Main duties of the job
The post holder ensures staff compliance with HSE INDG 479 by coordinating Trust-wide fit testing for respirators (reusable and disposable masks) using qualitative and quantitative methods. Key responsibilities include:
- Organizing and prioritizing fit testing across wards and directorates.
- Recording and reviewing fit testing outcomes to identify staff needing retesting or testing on new masks.
- Maintaining fit testing equipment and ensuring sufficient stock.
- Training staff on mask fit checking and supporting Infection Control initiatives.
- Performing administrative tasks and other delegated duties as required.
This role is vital for staff safety and infection control across the Trust.

Job summary
The integrated Musculoskeletal Service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic hand therapist ( OT or PT ) to join our hand therapy team based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
A developmental from Band 5 to Band 6 will be considered for the right applicant.
The post holder will carry out assessment, intervention, including splinting and rehabilitation, and evaluation of hand therapy patients using a variety of tools and techniques.
Trauma referrals are received daily from hand clinics and Consultant teams within our Hand Therapy Unit. You will be seeing patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions.
We are looking for sound clinical reasoning and communication skills, and an ability to work well within a team.
You will have regular informal/formal supervision with experienced senior therapists and will work as part of the wider community Musculoskeletal Service.
You must hold a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

To perform advanced assessment and treatment of hands and plastics patients including splinting and rehabilitation programmes
To assist in the formulation of clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner
To hold responsibility for own case load. Supervision taking the form of regular one to one sessions with the line manager, informal daily supervision, formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences and reflective practice. Access to advice and support from a senior hand therapist is available on a regular basis
To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to develop and enhance personal and team's clinical practice; to make suggestions to Clinical Lead/Head of Service for changes to practice by the team; to assist in the implementation of specific changes to practice; to contribute to the preparation of service protocols
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner

Trainee Clinical Respiratory Physiologist (Band 4)
The post of Trainee Clinical Respiratory Physiologist is an exciting opportunity for an individual whose ambition is to become a Clinical Respiratory Physiologist. Our Respiratory Physiology Department undertake a wide variety of tests including routine and complex lung function, sleep and ventilation. You will be provided high quality in-house and external training with the opportunity for progression to Band 5 and Band 6 Respiratory Physiologist grades, upon successfully completion of, and gaining competency in, incremental training goals.
You will be self motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will have the ability to work under pressure and at times autonomously, as well as be able to work effectively within a team..
The post requires cross-site working (Luton and Dunstable Hospital and Bedford Hospital). You must have a BSc degree Human Physiology or Sports Science or equivalent and ideally relevant NHS healthcare experience.

Main duties of the job
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. To train to become proficient in performing the physiological tests listed below.
2. To perform all relevant quality control procedures within the department.
3. To help maintain departmental equipment in conjunction with more senior staff and the Clinical Engineering Department.
4. Sterilise and disinfect all departmental equipment as and when necessary using correct guidelines set out by the trust.
5. Perform administrative duties such as sending out patient letters, telephoning patients regarding their tests and answering patients via telephone.
6. Ensure all patient data is stored in a suitable manner in accordance with Trust policy.
7. To take personal responsibility for compliance with all Trust and Departmental policies and procedures.

Applicants should have experience of working within Children's Services and a minimum of two years' SCPHN experience.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will manage a caseload of complex and vulnerable children under the care of the local authority. They will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of trauma-informed practice and the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on children and young people's emotional, social and behavioural development, as well as their long-term health outcomes.
They will Provide statutory health assessments to children in care. The case holder will work as part of a multi disciplinary team and partnership agencies to provide the best health outcomes for the children and young people

The Addison Unit is a 12 bedded Unit located at Health care wing at HMP Wandsworth.
The Addison team is a multidisciplinary team (MDT) that provides an assessment and treatment service to patients who present to the acute hospital with mental health difficulties. Referrals are received from various department within the prison and triaged by the in-reach team MDT and placed on a waiting list pending vacancy at Addison Unit. The main responsibilities of the HCA is to support the qualified staff in any way required, to deliver this service.
The HCA has a key role in gathering and recording data, carrying out therapeutic engagement with the patient, and recording any interactions about and with patients on the System one as well as initiating an ACCT and managing presenting risk to safeguard patient. HCA's are also required to support patients in crisis, with personal care and to escort patients who are being transferred to a psychiatric facility or hospital.

- Carry out delegated tasks for patients in mental health crisis or admitted to Addison Ward under the direction of qualified nursing staff.
- Support admissions by recording clinical information and completing physical observations (vital signs), including within the first 72 hours of admission.
- Undertake routine physical monitoring (e.g. NEWS2, ECGs, phlebotomy, blood glucose, BMI) and report any abnormalities promptly.
