Job summary
Specialist - Paediatric APT
We are looking for an experienced anatomical pathology technologist to work as a specialist and team lead to assist with the provision of an efficient and smooth-running mortuary service. The John Radcliffe mortuary provides a post mortem service to the Trust and HM coroner for both adult and paediatric post mortems. As a specialist paediatric centre the mortuary is a specialist referral centre for other hospitals.
The successful candidate should have demonstrable post-mortem experience, hold a BSc a in biological or forensic science subject and teh RSPH level 3 and 4 diplomas in anatomical pathology.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to
- Assist in the efficient organisation of the mortuary and post-mortem service.
- Perform both adult and paediatric post-mortem procedures of varying complexity, some of which require a high degree of skill and experience.
- Exercise autonomy within professional and managerial boundaries.
- Deputise for the Mortuary manager in their absence.
- Act as team lead - supervising and training junior staff.
- Work at any of the mortuary sites within the Trust as and when required (3 sites, two within Oxford and 1 in Banbury)
- Take part on the on call rota covering weekend, bank holiday and evening or night duties, which requires a flexible approach to hours of employment.

As a large teaching hospital and secondary and tertiary referral centre we provide histopathology to a wide range of specialist services. The vacancy is in our main laboratory at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
We are part of the South 4 Pathology Partnership operating a digital service with our partnership labs, are implementing a regional laboratory computer system and are applying for UKAS accreditation of our automated microtomy platform.
Applicants wishing to join our team must be HCPC registered and hold the IBMS Specialist Diploma in Cellular Pathology.
Main duties of the job
Your role will require you to
- Team lead in a section of histology
- Rotate between all section in the specialty following departmental procedures
- Perform specialist histological techniques
- Quality control work leaving the laboratory
- Assist in training of staff
- Deputise for the senior biomedical scientist / section head
- Be involved in staff recruitment and appraisal.
- Assist with audit, and procedural change in line with the departmental quality management system.

Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Psychologist to join the Department of Clinical Neuropsychology at the Oxford Centre for Enablement (OCE). The Clinical Neuropsychology service is part of the Trust wide Psychological medicine service. You will support the work of the Clinical Neuropsychology department in the Neurorehabilitation service at the OCE, working with adults with acquired brain injury and a wide range of long-term and complex neurological conditions, their families and carers. You will be carrying out neuropsychological assessments and delivering individual interventions and group work.
Main duties of the job
You will be working with in-patients, with opportunities to work with out-patients and families. You will also contribute to staff teaching and training, departmental and service development projects, research and clinical audit as opportunities arise. You will receive regular supervision and opportunities for CPD. We are seeking applications from people who have prior paid experience as an Assistant Psychologist in a neuropsychological setting (as such it is essential that you are proficient in administering and scoring a wide range of neuropsychological assessments). This post will offer you the opportunity to expand your existing experience of neuropsychological assessment with the chance to be involved in the supervised design and implementation of a range of Neurorehabilitation interventions. You will be organised, enthusiastic, hardworking and efficient; you will be able to work independently (with supervision) but also enjoy working within a team. You will also have good organisational and administrative skills alongside your clinical experience. You will have a honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) and be eligible for graduate membership of the BPS.

Main duties of the job
We are a busy orthopaedic radiology department carrying out all types of general and specialist examinations. All radiographers rotate to general x-ray, fluoroscopy and theatres. The band 6 radiographers also take a lead role within designated areas of the department and act as Duty Radiographer. Participation in our on-call rota for evenings and weekends is required.

The EDPS works at the frontline of acute care in close partnership with the John Radcliffe Hospital Emergency Department. The post holder be working with adolescents and their families developing short-term talking treatments to address emotional crises, self-harm and suicidality within the Brief Interventions for Repeat Self-Harm (BIRSH) service within EDPS, which offers timely, brief, evidence-based interventions for young people and adults presenting following self-harm or suicide attempts.
You will play a central part in supporting people at a point of acute distress. You will contribute to robust risk management and safety planning, and deliver short-term psychological interventions aimed at reducing distress and supporting recovery and stabilisation. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with community services to ensure safe and effective continuity of care.
EDPS offer specialist assessments and discharge planning to patients aged 13 years and upwards attending with a broad spectrum of mental health presentations as well as self-harm.
You will be joining a team that values thoughtful, formulation-led care and is committed to embedding psychological approaches within fast-paced acute settings.
Main duties of the job
- Undertake short-term, evidence-informed treatment with young people presenting to the ED with self-harm and/or suicidality.
- Manage, formulate and implement treatment plans as part of the BIRSH clinic.
- Assess and manage risk alongside young people and their families, and to escalate concerns about significant] risk to clinical and operational leaders as required.
- Proactive support planning and liaison to manage risk as best as possible and actively engage with both child and adult Safeguarding processes.
- Assess, plan, set goals with the service user, carers and families; implement and evaluate care using psycho-social interventions and skills to meet individual needs.
- Deliver individual therapeutic activity using therapeutic interventions and skills.
The post holder must be willing to work in other areas of EDPS where circumstances require this of them - this includes supporting assessments, background checks, liaising with other teams, ED staff, families etc as required to support the wider team.

Job summary
This is a key role within the pharmacy team delivering services to the Specialist Medicine Directorate. The post-holder will be an active member of both the Pharmacy & Sterile Services Directorate and the HIV / ID and Sexual Health Clinical Service Units (CSU), to ensure continuous two-way exchange of information and maintain high standards of medicines use within the Directorate.

4. Provide specialist advice and counselling to patients recieving antiretroviral therapy or TB therapies.
5. Maintain records of patients on antiretrovirals.
6. Promote and ensure the safe and effective use of medicines within the directorate to achieve high standards of medicines related aspects of patient care.
7. Encourage the cost effective use of medicines and to improve the quality of pharmaceutical care for patients. Including management of medication supplies via homecare.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Practice Role
1. To provide a ward-based clinical pharmacy service according to Trust agreed standards including:
- Individual prescription review to optimise therapy
- Confirmation of the patient's medication history
- Advice on dosage, side-effects, cautions and monitoring required
- Advise on administration of medicines
- Appropriate and clear endorsing of prescriptions to ensure safe practice
- Monitor the effect and appropriateness of medication
- Education of patients on their medication
- Involvement in discharge planning and provision of discharge medication
2. To provide clinical pharmacy cover to other ward areas within the team on a reciprocal basis.
3. To ensure medicines are used appropriately, safely and cost-effectively in accordance with Trust policy, standard operating procedures and medicines legislation.
4. To monitor medicines use within the ward area. This includes recording of significant clinical interventions and risk management including:
- Participation in investigating clinical incidents

Main duties of the job

We are recruiting for a Housekeeper / Cleaner to join our team at the City Community Ward in the Fulbrook Centre based at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford.
You'll be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the patient rooms, public areas, back of house areas such as linen room and laundry areas, according to Trust policy and procedures at a level that meets or exceeds National Cleanliness standards.
This role adds to the patients experience by providing a high-quality cleaning and catering service. Are you a Registered mental health professional seeking a new challenge?
We are seeking a full time Specialist Mental Health Practitioner to join our team on a fixed term, maternity cover. The Thames Valley-wide programme for children and young people with complex needs is centred around the implementation of a practice framework known as the 'Framework for Integrated Care'. It is designed to improve outcomes for a cohort of vulnerable children and young people with complex needs who experience some of the highest levels of health inequality in society.
The framework focuses on trauma-informed practice, cross-agency working and achievement of consensus across professionals and family by clinical formulation and support for professionals and others who are directly involved with young people.
Clinicians working within the new development will be involved in direct clinical work, interprofessional liaison and training. The scope of work and understanding of intervention will broader than that encountered within most existing CAMHS provision.
In Oxfordshire, clinicians will be co-located with a range of other services already working along the lines of the FIC frequently with young people with complex needs (regional forensic CAMHS, Horizon (team for young people who have experience sexual trauma)). These services already have strong links with other teams across CAMHS, within children's social care, youth justice, education and the voluntary and community sector.

The Community Therapy Service aims to provide high-quality integrated therapy services working as a key member of the community MDT. A strong visible ward presence and in-person working are core expectations of the role to ensure real-time engagement with ward teams, timely escalation of issues, and active progression of discharge plans.
The postholder will support patients with complex discharge pathways, clinically ready for discharge (CRFD) status, and long length of stay (LLoS), ensuring barriers are identified early and actions are progressed promptly. The postholder will be primarily hospital based at either Farnham Road Hospital or Silverwood and will provide support across inpatient wards, contracted beds, and discharge pathways as required.
Main duties of the job
The Discharge Practitioner will support the coordination and progression of safe, timely and effective discharge pathways across allocated inpatient wards, taking ownership of actions required to progress discharge plans from admission through to discharge. The postholder will work closely with inpatient MDTs, Bed Flow, Senior Discharge Practitioners, HTT, CMHRS, Housing Support Leads, Delegated Commissioning, Local Authorities and external providers to identify and resolve barriers to discharge. They will maintain oversight of patients who are Clinically Ready for Discharge (CRFD), have a Long Length of Stay (LLoS), or have complex discharge needs, escalating delays appropriately. Main duties of the job
As a General Hospital Porter, you will: Management of waste streams (clinical, domestic, recycling, special) Security checks (early morning opening, evening lockdown, and ad hoc) Controlling access to the basement car park Managing of patient transfers between departments Managing of both internal and external post (including recording of postal use by on-site third parties) Maintain the external environment to a high standard (including the basement car park) Moving furniture, equipment, medical gases to departments
