Job summary
We are delighted to be expanding our team and are excited to offer an opportunity for a Phlebotomist or Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly, supportive, and progressive practice.
We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and motivated individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality patient care and enjoys working as part of a collaborative and supportive team. Phlebotomy experience is essential.
If you are an HCA, please note that phlebotomy will be a predominant part of the role, alongside other clinical responsibilities.
Salary:
Placement within this salary scale is negotiated based on skills and experience.
Phlebotomist: £12.92-£13.48 per hour; £24,923 - £26,003 for 37 hours per week (pro rata) with the benefit of an NHS or NEST pension.
Healthcare Assistant: £13.17-14.05; £25,405 - £27,102 for 37 hours per week (pro rata) with the benefit of an NHS or NEST pension.
Hours:
Full and Part-time applications welcomed (minimum 10 hours per week), hours can be negotiated with a set weekly working pattern.

Main duties of the job
Phlebotomist and Healthcare Assistant:
Undertake and accurately record the following tasks:
- venepuncture (patients of 16 years and over). Phlebotomists/ HCAs who have undertaken specific training in paediatric venepuncture and been deemed competent may carry out venepuncture in patients aged 10 years and over.
- raise ICE forms (according to protocol)
- measurement of height and weight and BMI - urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation by the pathology laboratory - measurement of blood pressure and temperature
- health promotion
- assist with clinical procedures such as implants, coils and minor surgery
- chaperone
HCA:
- pulse rate and rhythm
- peak flow measurements
- recording of ECGs
- smoke stop advice and referral
- smoking cessation
- spirometry - inhaler technique
- pulse oximetry
- near patient testing
- new patient checks
- NHS Health checks
- referrals to healthy living
- health promotion
Extended HCA tasks only to be undertaken with (or working towards) NVQ 3 or other similar and relevant training and validated training and assessment of competence:

About us
Weymouth Bay Medical Practice is a large friendly GP practice in Weymouth, Dorset (previously known as Royal Crescent and Preston Road Practice and Dorchester Road Practice) and both practices were inspected previously and were rated as Outstanding and Good by the Care Quality Commission.
The Practice cares for 26,500 patients with 3 purpose-built surgeries, one in the town centre of Weymouth (Royal Crescent Surgery), one in Lodmoor (Dorchester Road Surgery) and one on the outskirts, in the area of Preston (Preston Road Surgery).
We are a training practice with a dedicated team of 22 GP Partners and 60 nursing and administrative staff, and we value the contribution of each staff member.

We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate qualified nurse to join our team of friendly and supportive nurses.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated nurse who enjoys a diverse clinical role and is committed to providing patient centred care.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must be RGN registered with at least one year years post registration experience and have experience in primary care practice nursing. A recognised qualification and/or experience in at least one respiratory Long-Term Condition (Asthma/COPD/Diabetes) is desirable, but not essential if you are willing to undergo training in these areas.

Job summary
The Governance Officer will take responsibility for the management of the complaints and feedback process, incident and risk, and coordination of legal and inquest-related activities. This role is critical to maintaining effective compliant governance operations. The post holder will support the development of a culture committed to transparency, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.

Main duties of the job
The Governance Officer will support the delivery of effective governance arrangements across PELC by managing complaints, incidents, risks, and patient feedback processes. The post holder will coordinate investigations, support legal and inquest activities, prepare governance reports and committee papers, and ensure actions arising from governance activities are tracked to completion. They will also support PSIRF processes, maintain governance records and inboxes, and contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and organisational learning.

They will be committed to their own professional development and have a drive to continually improve the service we provide to our patients.
You will be part of our established rotational training programme, which is aimed at helping you develop your core foundation skills in a variety of clinical settings
Our service is open 7 days a week and our current opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm (with no late night rota), Saturday 8.30am-1pm and Sunday 9.30am-1pm. Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone with a compassionate nature who can communicate successfully with people who have different abilities and presentations. Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will provide essential support to Biomedical Scientists within the Microbiology laboratory, assisting with the preparation of biological samples and the operation of laboratory analysers. They will have responsibility for supervising and supporting the development of Senior Associate and Associate Healthcare Scientists (Bands 2 and 3), including training and day-to-day oversight.
The role offers opportunities for further development, with additional training provided to enable the post holder to take a lead on defined aspects of service delivery, such as analyser management, Health & Safety, and Quality Management. The post holder will also contribute to more complex scientific investigations and undertake basic interpretive tasks in support of Biomedical Scientists. We are excited to be able to advertise for a Clinical Team Lead / Senior Staff Nurse to join the team on The Orchard, Lancaster.
The Orchard is a stand-alone unit based in Lancaster. It is a 16 bedded male acute unit that specialises in the assessment and treatment of mental health conditions. This enables people to return to their communities and allows them to regain their independence.
We are looking for a caring, empathetic, enthusiastic individual who has a passion to improve the lives of our patients. This role will be to provide care and support to patients who require mental health interventions, guidance or monitoring.
The successful candidates will join an already established leadership team, and will have opportunity to further develop their leadership skills in a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will bring excellent role modelling skills, a passion for supporting and developing junior colleagues, including student nurses and preceptors, and they should have a keen interest in quality improvement projects that can lead to improvements in patient care and staff wellbeing.
You should bring with you experience of nursing people with acute mental health needs, as well as some experience of providing high-quality supervision, an awareness of not just how to complete an audit but what to do with the data an audit provides us with, and be keen to develop your own skills once in post.

Inpatient wards and units are designed to meet the acute holistic needs of service users and patients and carers, in a recovery focussed environment. This working environment is conducive to staff development and wellbeing.

The East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) are looking for a talented and motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician with Electrical bias to join the Engineering Team at its Colchester Hospital site.
You will be responsible for carrying out the repair, maintenance and installation of plant, equipment, systems and building structure/fabric associated with all Trust properties. This will consist of Planned Preventative Maintenance, testing and calibration, fault finding, emergency response, defect correction and new works.

Main duties of the job
To undertake clinical activities within the scope of professional practice.
Plan, implement and evaluate health enhancing activities to meet health needs of the local population through home visiting, community development, clinics, workshops, support groups and parenting programmes, focusing on key national and local targets.
To develop a workload profile, identifying needs as Universal, targeted & specialist.
To identify children and families in need of early help through the Common Assessment Framework, known locally as the Early Help Assessment. To act as Lead Professional as required.
Support and manage projects around health enhancing activities e.g. postnatal support services, Baby Friendly Initiative
Act as a named Health Visitor within context of caseload management.
Act in accordance with current local and Trust guidelines/policies to protect children at risk. Takes professional responsibility and accountability in the joint decision making process within the Child Protection arena.

Our Staff Nurses have a very varied role where no two days are the same.

The Prescribing Clerk plays a key role in supporting the safe and efficient management of repeat prescribing and medication administration within the GP practice. As the practice exclusively provides care for patients living in nursing and residential homes, the role requires close liaison with care home staff, community pharmacies, and the clinical team to ensure timely prescription processing, accurate medication records, and continuity of care for a complex and vulnerable patient population.
Main duties of the job
The role involves liaising with patients, healthcare professionals, and pharmacies, as well as maintaining the confidentiality and security of patient information. Additionally, the Prescription Clerk may assist with administrative tasks such as handling prescription inquiries and coordinating medication orders.
The candidate must demonstrate interpersonal skills when dealing with all levels of staff across the practice and BGPA using persuasion, tact and reassurance where necessary.
Handle confidential patient material in a sensitive and discrete fashion in compliance with Bromley GP Alliance policy and procedure.
Liaise with other departments and members of the Bromley GP Alliance and other organisations to ensure the smooth running of the office and to assisting the functioning of the team.
