Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a part time Switchboard Operator based at Conquest Hospital. You will be joining a small, friendly team working on a busy switchboard, delivering a vital 24-hour, 365-day service for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
This role operates on a set shift pattern - please see attached document of the rota.
The Switchboard is the first point of contact for the Trust. You will be required to confidently operate a computer-based switchboard system, answering calls in a professional manner and managing enquiries from patients, relatives, visitors, and GPs, as well as handling all calls, bleeps, and pagers.
You will also be responsible for responding calmly and efficiently to a wide range of emergency calls, including cardiac arrests, trauma alerts, fire calls, and alarm systems, within a fast-paced communications environment.
Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
Where applicable, this post may attract unsocial hours payments, if rostered, in line with the Agenda for Change terms. Enhanced rates apply for weekday night shifts (8pm-6am), weekends, and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
- Work as a telephonist, dealing with all incoming calls to the Switchboard.
- Switchboard operates on a 24hr pattern.
- Operate the Multitone Bleep System (messaging and changing of devices)
- Operate the PageOne pager system.
- Deal with all digital alarms (medical gases, lifts etc) in a calm and efficient manner, following the necessary standard operating procedures.
- Deal with emergency calls (cardiac arrests, fire, traumas) in a calm and efficient manner, following the necessary standard operating procedures.
- Compile and update where necessary, the daily on call rota.
- Communicate to a high level and pass on information accurately to the Team Leaders and Manager, and handover any essential info to colleagues.
- Communicate with all services users.
- Ability to work on own, making your own decisions and deal with any situations that may occur.
- Ensure all departmental procedures are followed and ensure an accurate record of any task completed is kept.
- Work as part of a team.
- Good communicational skills are key.
- Experience in Excel, Word, email and possess good organisational and keyboard skills would be advantageous.

We are seeking a Digital Health Records Scanning Coordinator who is detail-oriented, digitally proficient, and passionate about working for the NHS, to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in the digitisation of patient records.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, scanning, indexing, and quality-checking patient documents to ensure accurate and secure digital storage. This essential function ensures complete and precise patient information is available at the point of care.
Main duties of the job
- Prepare physical health records for scanning, including sorting, removing staples, and categorising documents.
- Operate desk top scanners and associated software to digitise patient records.
- Accurately index scanned documents into the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure completeness, clarity, and accuracy of scanned records.
- Handle confidential patient information in accordance with GDPR and data protection policies.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve discrepancies or missing information.
- Maintain scanning equipment and report technical issues promptly.
A good working knowledge of Digital Systems is desirable, but a flexible approach set against a fast moving environment is essential. We are looking for a well organised and motivated person, with a can-do attitude and a keen eye for detail to maintain a high quality digital patient record.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Planned Care Nursing Administration Team. The successful candidate will work across sites to meet service needs (base location to be confirmed).
The role involves a range of administrative duties, including data entry, managing appointments, answering telephone enquiries, and providing a high standard of customer service to patients, carers, healthcare professionals and partner organisations.
Working closely with clinical colleagues, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of Planned Care Nursing services and supporting the delivery of an efficient and responsive administrative service.

The service operates seven days a week, including Bank Holidays. Weekend working is required on a rotational basis (currently 1 in 7 weekends), and staff are rostered to work two Bank Holidays per year. Cross-site working is an essential part of the role, therefore access to transport is required.
Core service hours are 08:00-18:00.

Following development of our MSK collaborative under East Sussex MSK, we continue to look to the growth and development of our MSK Physiotherapy services. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Band 5 or Band 6 with some prior experience of working with MSK patients. East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust currently delivers a musculoskeletal physiotherapy service within 8 outpatient, acute and community settings. This role will provide specialist MSK expertise cross site in the East Sussex locality, so ability to travel efficiently will be essential.
Main duties of the job
You will be working in a supportive team environment, alongside experienced MSK clinicians, including advanced practitioners, the MSK Clinical Lead, Rehab Leads and the MSK Clinical Consultant. This role will also be central to our collaboration with with other providers as part of the East Sussex MSK collaborative, to drive innovation and best practice within our MSK care pathways across Sussex.
Our teams have a strong commitment to supporting personal professional development through an embedded in-service training programme, clinical and leadership supervision, mentoring and appraisal. The successful candidate will be integral to the delivery of this.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, alongside sound knowledge and experience in the management of a wide range of MSK conditions. They will assist the Band 7, Advanced Practice MSK Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Leads to deliver evidence based care pathways for our patients and will take an active part in participation and provision of in-service training. You will be providing supervision and support to junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants in the team, as well as supporting student placements and work experience placements.

Our dynamic Virtual Ward team in East Sussex is seeking a Remote Monitoring Clinician to help transform patient experiences and outcomes from the comfort of their homes.
TheVirtual Ward forms part of the Urgent Community Response (UCR) team. We are a 7-day service that supports acutely unwell patients that would otherwise be in a hospital bed, supporting both early discharge from hospital and admission avoidance. The team responds to the needs of patients in the place they call home.
The service provides both in person care from nursing, therapies and social support, as well as remote monitoring of vital signs and facilitation of remote consultations and communication with patients.
We are looking for experienced nurse, paramedic, allied health professional with a passion for patient care and the drive, enthusiasm and talent to develop services to support patients on the Virtual Ward. You will want to develop your skills and push yourself outside the normal boundaries of practice and will have a real drive to make sure your patient gets the best treatment possible.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an experienced Registered Nurse, HCPC registered Paramedic or AHP who will work within the Virtual Ward team. We would encourage applications from professionals with high level clinical skills, knowledge and experience in a constantly evolving environment.
As a Band 6 Remote Monitoring Clinician you will: Provide leadership to the team on shift and support the development of the service through leading on projects and audits. Support the clinical coordination of the team on shift. Lead the onboarding and clinical management for patients on remote monitoring. Develop your clinical skills in conducting remote clinical assessments and treatment for patients across the Virtual Ward pathways. Develop new skills outside of your normal scope of practice to enable a single holistic assessment approach, following established escalation pathways.
The role will be primarily office based within the Virtual Ward Hub. At present the role is core working hours 08:00 - 18:00 with weekend/bank holiday working on a rota basis. The wider Virtual Ward service operates 7 days a week covering shifts 08:00 until 22:00.

We have created a bright and welcoming environment and have16 inpatient beds catering to children and young people aged 0-16 years. Woodlands Children's Day Assessment Unit is also included in the footprint of Sarum Ward and is open until late in the evening. We provide specialised care for a range of specialties including general paediatrics, orthopaedics, ENT, and general surgery. In addition we are the regional centre for burns and plastics accepting referrals from as far as Jersey. We are also one of nine hospitals in England who collaborate with the esteemed Spire Cleft Centre performing cleft lip and palate repairs to children within the region. Additionally, we are a Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit and link closely with Southampton University Hospital ensuring comprehensive and compassionate care.
As part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll also collaborate with various departments within the hospital, including the Children's Emergency Department, Day Surgical Unit, and our Neonatal Unit.
They will also show initiative and drive to working together, not only in continuation of their own professional development but to reach our ultimate goal in providing outstanding care to children, young people and their families.

Main duties of the job

The Pharmacy Technician will play an important role in complementing the Pharmacy Team and other members of the practice. Job summary
To provide support to Nexus Personality Disorder Service in the delivery of essential administrative tasks that support clinical work including assessment and treatment of service users on the Provision PIPE (Psychologically Informed Planned Environment), Day and Outreach Services. To observe professional and Trust guidelines for professional conduct, including accurate record keeping and to undertake CPD and attend personal supervision sessions.

Main duties of the job
To provide comprehensive administration and secretarial support to multidisciplinary teams, wards or departments including named medical staff, junior medical staff, and the system-wide multi-disciplinary team. This will include being the first point of contact for that team, ward or department and could involve duties such as meeting and greeting visitors, receiving initial enquiries, and directing telephone calls.
There will be an expectation for the post holder to be highly motivated, flexible, and multi-skilled with excellent organisational skills. They will possess excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office systems including Word and Excel.
The post holder will be able to work to high standards and will be required to take personal details from people and upload onto the electronic patient record systems. The post holder will need to meet deadlines, collate data and maintain standards relating to administrative processes. They will need to be able to work within a team effectively and share work streams where appropriate.
The post holder will be key in maintaining diaries and arranging meetings, taking formal minutes, and keeping appropriate records on the most up to date templates. Their work is managed rather than supervised and they are accountable for their own actions - manager is available for reference but generally, they will manager their own workload.
