We are looking for an organised Medical Secretary to join the team at our psychiatric hospital, supporting consultant psychiatrists and the wider multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality care to people experiencing mental health difficulties.
This is a varied, fast-paced role where no two days are the same, and where your work makes a real difference to patients, families and clinicians alike. You'll need excellent attention to detail, confident IT and audio-typing skills, and the ability to stay calm and professional in a sensitive environment. Previous medical secretary experience, ideally in mental health, would be a real advantage, but above all we're looking for someone who takes pride in getting things right and wants to be part of a supportive, dedicated team.
Main duties of the job
You'll be at the heart of the hospital's clinical administration: managing diaries and clinics, typing clinical letters and reports, coordinating ward rounds and tribunals, and making sure patient records are accurate, up to date and handled with complete confidentiality.
About us
Baldock Manor is rated Good by the CQC, whose most recent report specifically recognised the contribution of our Therapies team. The hospital comprises two older adult acute inpatient wards (male and female), with an accredited female PICU currently dormant and offering real potential for redevelopment which is an unusual service development opportunity for a psychologist building their career.

What stands out in our hospital is the focus on psychology led treatments and the vibrant and inclusive multi-disciplinary team, as well as a collegiate atmosphere which makes working here enjoyable even on the busy days!
