To provide general secretaries support to clinicians involving word processing and audio typing skills with general clerical work.

Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Job Responsibilities

• To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and service for Clinicians and Health Professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, emails, etc in an accurate and quality manner.
• To make appointments, bookings and admissions as required.
• To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.
• To retrieve medical records and assist the completion of medical/ insurance records
• File patient records and correspondence in patient medical records
• To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in an efficient and pleasant manner in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and forwarding accurately to the correct person in the Primary Health Care Team and dealing with appropriate queries

Based within the Centre for Womens Health on the main Royal Devon and Exeter Wonford site, the post holder will join an established team to provide comprehensive administration support for our patients and clinical team of Consultant Gynaecologist/Obstetricians.

The post holder will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, Digital Rectoscopy providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers in Primary Care.

The post holder will be practising autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner within the designated speciality area to provide patient-centred care as being specifically to identify and diagnose causes of rectal bleeding and detect polyps, inflammation, tumours, or other abnormalities in the rectal mucosa. Lead:

Assist the Contact Centre Managers to oversee the routine daily activities of all Phone hub staff and ensure individuals are employed to best advantage

Ensure computer and telephone system faults are escalated to the IT lead

We provide Diagnostic Physiological investigations for patients with Urological dysfunction, Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms and urinary incontinence.

KR 1 Clinical and Client Care

To support the Senior Decision Making Team/Process. There are Support worker, admin and one AP role to support the SDM. They will co-ordinate referrals, implement decisions made liaise and gather further information from service users and referrers if required, to be brought back to the MDT The team for decision making. It includes feedback of decisions to service users and referrers. The AP role will be particularly with a focus on potential Psychological Therapy referrals, as well as with other secondary care CMHT referrals.
