Job summary
The post holder will act as a Biomedical Scientist, (Histology Research Technician), within the Centre and have skills and knowledge in providing a high quality technical and scientific service in amyloid histopathology and immunohistochemistry. The post holder will be part of the Amyloidosis Research and Diagnosis Laboratory Team and will be required to work closely with colleagues from both the immediate and wider team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work independently to ensure efficient and effective processing of patient samples through the section. They should have the ability to maintain and troubleshoot as needed, and train new and junior staff in relevant techniques, ensuring competency to ensure maximum efficiency. The post holder will be expected to perform complex manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory investigations to support a team comprising of clinical scientists, biomedical scientists and technicians working in the Jack O'Neil Laboratory. The post holder must have excellent organisational and communication skills.
The work performed is undertaken in accordance with appropriate training and the ability to demonstrate competence.

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Ophthalmology service provides a number of services across different settings in North London. We are recruiting into a full time 37.5 Band 5 position in our ophthalmology department at Chase farm hospital.
The post includes working in Ophthalmology outpatients . The post is primarily at Chase farm hospital but also requires working at Barnet Hospital on a weekly bases when needed and cross site cover as required at Edgware community hospital
This post is only available to Nurses who already have full NMC registration or student nurses awaiting their pin. Not suitable for nurses requiring OSCE.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job
Working in a friendly environment you will be responsible for the assessment and planning of care needs for Ophthalmic patients in a out patient setting .
Previous experience in Ophthalmology would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
In addition to the Ophthalmology department at Chase farm hospital we also have ophthalmic clinics in other hospitals within the Royal free London foundation trust and you will be expected to work there if needed.
Working in a team you will be responsible for assessing patients and preparing them for doctors assessment in clinics as well as working in nurse led clinics e.g. pre-operative assessment and fundus Fluorescein angiography clinics
The hours ours will be worked across 5 days Monday to Friday depending on activity demand.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join Cambridgeshire Liaison and Diversion Service, who support people with vulnerabilities, of all ages who find themselves in the criminal justice system.
Practitioners are based in courts and police custody units across the county. Their role is to screen and assess service users of all ages and where appropriate divert them out of the criminal justice system where there are no public protection issues.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be working in police custodies and the Magistrates courts across the county, and will either be based in Cambridge or Peterborough. This may also include visiting rural areas to ensure that there is an equitable service for all service users to access.
The role will include working in host environments, working at times autonomously from the main team but with the support from police, court and probation staff.
Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. GCSEs (Grade A - C) in Maths, English and Science are required, and previous experience of working in a pharmacy manufacturing environment would be beneficial.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder is to assist with the provision and development of the Pharmacy Technical. Services department at the Royal Free Hospital rotating between each manufacturing area (Non-Sterile, Terminally Sterilised Batches, CIVAS and Chemotherapy). The prime function of the job is to prepare medicinal products either as batches or for individual patients against pre-prepared worksheets. The post-holder is required to work with his/her arms in isolators, LaminarAir Flow Cabinets (LAFCs) for long periods of time, with full concentration.
Overalls, gloves and masks are worn when processing. This role requires fine manipulation, so manual dexterity is essential, as is accuracy and attention to detail and good eyesight. The post-holder is expected to have knowledge of and work according to the principles of Good, Manufacturing Practice, in order to maintain the department's Manufacturing "Specials" Licence.
They will be expected to help the Chief and Senior Technicians in the unit with the training of all new staff working in the unit and re-training of any staff who have been absent from working in that part of the rotation for a long time.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (Trainee PWP) to join our team.
Our dedicated Psychological Well-being Practitioners offer a range of psychological therapies & services to treat and support people in their recovery. TalkPlus is committed to developing staff to reach their full potential.

Main duties of the job
This is a training role within the NHS talking therapies service. The post-holder will work within the talking therapies service providing high volume, low intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. The training post will equip the postholder to provide a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions to clients with anxiety and depression. The post-holder will attend all taught and self-study days required by The University as specified within the National Low Intensity curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.
The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.
This is a training role within the NHS talking therapies programme and the trainee will take an active role in the service.

TalkPlus offers a range of treatments to people who are experiencing symptoms of stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, panic, phobias or OCD. TalkPlus has care pathways to provide timely treatment for perinatal and military veteran referrals.

We have an exciting opportunity for Band 6 Mental Health Nurses to join the Older Adults community team based in South Warwickshire. Senior Clinical Fellow - Young Adult Hip ServiceThe Trauma and Orthopaedic service at University College Hospital is led by 16 Consultants who specialise in a range of elective and trauma work. We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner, as part of the Health Education England (HEE) funded programme in partnership with the Anna Freud Centre, University College London. This is a training role within the Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT). The post-holder will work within our Psychological Medicine service within the paediatric division delivering, under supervision, high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions and guided self-help for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The training and service experience will equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven service.
The post holder will attend all university based taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.
Main duties of the job
1.1. Assess and deliver, under supervision outcome focused, evidence-based interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.1.2. Working in partnership, support children, young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties and development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.1.3. Undertakes accurate assessment of risk to self and others.1.4. Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Urgent Care to join our established team of General Practitioners and Advanced Practitioners working within the Kendal Urgent Treatment Centre.
We currently have a temporary position available for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner , to cover Maternity Leave, working within the busy and challenging environment of an isolated urgent treatment centre. You must have a passion for delivering high quality care to the local urban and rural population. As well as providing care to the large number of tourists to the national park that may present.
You should be working as an autonomous practitioner in the assessment and treatment of patients with a range of health conditions. You will work alongside and be supported by the General Practitioners within the team.
We will consider a Temporary contract or a secondment for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
- To act as an advanced autonomous practitioner you must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical practice and knowledge whilst participating in direct evidenced based patient care. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing professional and clinical support in the care of patients.
- You should possess advanced skills in undertaking health assessments; diagnosing, treating, prescribing, and discharging patients.
- As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner you must provide expert care and treatment to patients with a wide range of health complaints. You will work to trust protocols and clinical guidelines. However, as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner will also be able to make decisions outside these frameworks, where necessary based on best practice.
- You will provide support within the team and act as role model and learning resource to other health professionals. You will be encouraging and aim to develop a high standard of clinical skills and strive to improve patient outcomes.
- You should be willing to function in a variety of roles; health care provider, educator, researcher, clinical advocate and implementer of clinical governance.
About us
We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
The UTC is an alternative to attending the Emergency Department (ED) for a range of minor injuries and minor illnesses. It is a walk-in service for patients whose condition is urgent enough that they cannot wait for the next GP appointment (usually within 48 hours), but who do not need emergency treatment at the Emergency Department (ED). People are usually seen, treated and discharged on the same day.
The UTC aims to treat minor illness and minor injury in adults and children of any age.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring sonographer to join our Head & Neck Ultrasound Service as a Trainee Clinical Specialist Sonographer. This developmental role is designed for an experienced healthcare professional who wishes to develop specialist skills in Head & Neck ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures within a supported training pathway.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced Clinical Specialist Sonographers, Radiologists and ENT clinicians to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies required to independently perform and report Head & Neck ultrasound examinations. They will contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services supporting ENT, Head & Neck Cancer and Rapid Diagnostic pathways.
The post holder will undertake a structured programme of clinical training, supervision and competency development leading towards autonomous specialist practice. In return, the successful candidate will gain experience within a well-established specialist service, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the timely diagnosis and management of patients with Head & Neck conditions.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake a structured training programme to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies required to become an autonomous Clinical Specialist Sonographer within the Head & Neck Ultrasound Service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake supervised Head & Neck ultrasound examinations as part of a defined competency framework.
- Develop the skills required to independently perform and report Head & Neck ultrasound investigations.
- Participate in specialist training in ultrasound-guided procedures, including Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA).
- Support the delivery of ENT, Head & Neck Cancer and Rapid Diagnostic pathways.
- Work closely with Clinical Specialist Sonographers, Radiologists, ENT Consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred care throughout the diagnostic pathway.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to the production of diagnostic reports.
- Participate in audit, quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development and successful completion of competency requirements.
- Support departmental teaching, learning and service development initiatives.
