Job summary
Are you looking for an opportunity to play a key role in improving cancer services and making a real difference to patients' lives? We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our team in this newly created and exciting role.
This position is central to the implementation of innovative Rapid Diagnostic Pathways for patients with suspected cancer, supporting earlier identification, faster diagnosis and improved patient outcomes. Based at Basildon Hospital, you will help deliver nationally recognised best practice by coordinating integrated cancer pathways across a range of tumour sites.
Working closely with clinical and operational teams, you will manage patient pathways across all three Mid and South Essex hospital sites, ensuring patients progress smoothly through their diagnostic journey. Using a range of digital systems and platforms, both onsite and remotely, you will monitor pathways, coordinate appointments and investigations, and help ensure key targets are achieved.

Main duties of the job
To be a single point of contact for patients throughout their diagnostic journey, alongside access to the right information, support and advice.
Communicate directly through telephone or face to face contact with patients and carers demonstrating empathy, understanding, diplomacy, honesty and integrity.
Co-ordinate the necessary assessments, investigations and appointments required.
Co-ordinate the transfer of care between service teams, or facilitation of service provision across interfaces of care- for example primary and secondary care.
Refer and sign post to the clinical team as appropriate for decisions.
Triage incoming calls from patients and initiate appropriate responses based on clear protocols and frameworks.
Manage referrals into the referral Assessment service (RAS) for RDC including registering referrals on EPR and liaising with the central booking and diagnostic booking teams.

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Antenatal Clinic Administrator to join the Antenatal Care team at Broomfield Hospital.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of a busy antenatal service, providing a professional and efficient administrative service for women, midwives, obstetricians, and the wider maternity team.
The post holder will be responsible for booking and managing appointments, answering telephone enquiries, processing referrals, maintaining accurate patient records, and supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the antenatal clinic. They will also assist with ensuring women are appropriately booked into maternity services and that information is managed accurately and in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to manage a varied workload in a busy environment, and be committed to providing a high-quality service that supports positive patient experiences and safe, effective maternity care.
This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of a high-volume antenatal clinic and supporting timely access to care for women using our maternity services.
Main duties of the job
You will have responsibility for all administration that is required during antenatal midwifery & obstetric clinics.
Provide administrative support to the Maternity Services to include all aspects of antenatal booking and all other administration associated within the antenatal clinic maternity service.
You be expected to have a flexible and 'can do' approach in ensuring the work of the department is carried out in the set timeframe and meet the required high standard.
Possess excellent communication skills, and are organised and assertive.
Have the ability to use your own initiative in the completion of delegated tasks, and to seek advice appropriately
Undertake any other duties commensurate with grade as agreed and delegated by your manager

This post is for a junior clinical fellow doctor in the General Surgical unit in Broomfield Hospital at ST1 - ST2 Level. The main role of the post is to support the FY1 doctors in delivering In-patient care in this busy and forward-thinking department. They will be at FY2/ ST1 level on the on-call rota. Main duties of the job
Liase between nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives, and senior medical staff.
Attend to the day-to-day management of day case, outpatient and in-patients.

Teach medical students and more junior colleagues as directed.
Take part in rostered emergency work.
To keep up to date with all administrative duties including letters, results and discharge summaries as required.
Study for higher examinations and maintain continued professional development.
Undertake and assist in audit projects at various times throughout the rotations.

You will have the opportunity to rotate through all key areas of the department--including CT, pre-treatment checking, treatment, and brachytherapy--or, if preferred, specialise in an area aligned with your experience and interests.

The role will include participation in shift patterns and extended hours to meet service capacity and patient demand. Job summary
Our Acute Medicine team at Southend University Hospital, providing an integral role in the management of medical referrals from both the Emergency Department and direct from Primary Care, has received funding to recruit Senior Clinical fellows ST3+
Although this post is not recognised for training, we offer support in developing a Learning Portfolio and regular educational appraisal with a Consultant Educator. Multi-disciplinary team work is envisaged as a key component of the working of this Trust and will involve Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussion with other colleagues.
The Acute Medical Service comprises of an Acute Medical Unit with 24 assessment beds, a 7 day Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) and our Short Stay Unit. Patients are referred either by Primary Care, Community nursing teams, outpatient clinics or the Emergency Department.
You will receive, in addition to your base salary a supplement at a rate of 50% (1A) of your base salary when actively added to the full shift duty rota including late, nights and weekend working.
Main duties of the job
Your role will involve continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care, undertaking ward duties under the direction of senior colleagues, providing evidence-based care for patients in a multi-disciplinary setting and conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
As part of a team, you will work with the Consultant Physicians and a team of junior doctors to manage ward in-patients, may be called upon to see General Medical referrals on other wards, be expected to take part in Clinical Governance Meetings and be involved in Audit within the Department and be expected to supervise junior medical staff and have continuing inpatient responsibility in conjunction with the members of junior doctors' medical team, CMTs, FY2s and FY1s.
All staff in each Directorate are managerially accountable through their Lead Clinician to the Clinical Director, who has overall responsibility for the services within the Directorate and will work in partnership with colleagues in other Directorates within the Trust.

We are currently looking for Band 5 Nurses to come and join our team on Notley ward, our 28 bedded Trauma & orthopaedic ward for Mid and South Essex.
Our ward prides itself in providing a high standard of patient care, experience, and quality service. Our team is friendly, supportive, vibrant and dynamic; everyone is encouraged to participate as a member of the team in developing their nursing skills. We offer a structured band 5 competency programme and support to complete mandatory training. We also apply for post graduate courses as they become available.

Shift Patterns: Night - 19.15 - 07.45, Long day - 07.00 - 20.00

Main duties of the job

Our Stroke Unit at Broomfield is a 32 bedded ward. We admit patients from the emergency department or TIA clinic who have had an acute stroke or TIA and work closely as a multi-disciplinary team to ensure excellent stroke care is given, guided by the Royal College of Physicians National Stroke Guidelines 2016.

Our 31 bedded Respiratory ward (Terling) are looking for Nurses to join its supportive, encouraging and friendly 'Respiratory Family' that is developing with the changing needs of patients with respiratory conditions, on a permanent full-time basis at Broomfield Hopsital.
You will report primarily to the Senior Sister, Junior Sisters and work closely with the Health Care Assistants to promote, develop and maintain a culture within the Ward/Department in collaboration with the Charge Nurse which challenges and questions practice and promotes the quality of thinking amongst practitioners.
The role includes acting as a Practice Supervisor/Assessor ensuring that staff and students receive effective and documented induction, coaching, development and support.
This is a developing service within respiratory and there will be opportunity to develope your respiratory knowledge and acute medical skills, within this service there will also be the opportunity for career progression.
The Trust aims towards maintaining the goodwill and confidence of its own staff and of the general public. To assist in achieving this objective, it is essential that at all times, employees carry out their duties in a courteous and sympathetic manner.

The Deputy Director of Midwifery and Neonates will lead the strategic direction of the Perinatal Health Clinical Service Unit (CSU) which includes maternity services and neonatal services. The Division of Surgery, Cancer and Cardiovascular are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Administrator to join the Vascular Surgery Team. Accountable to the Service Support Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering operational standards within the Vascular Surgery service.
The Band 3 post holder will be responsible for working closely with the Vascular Clinical Nurse Specialist team to help manage patient waiting lists, for both theatre and non-theatre lists across two sites (St Marys Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital). The post holder will support the clinical team in delivering excellent care for our patients by providing an effective and efficient clerical support service.
The successful candidate will be approachable, have excellent communication skills with the ability to develop key working relationships with all levels of staff including consultants, junior medical staff and nurses. Main duties of the job
- Deal with queries from GPs, Doctors, wards, and other departments over the phone and in person in a calm and polite manner and in accordance with CPG and Trust policy.
- Provide basic information to patients / visitors / carers, such as providing directions to other areas of the hospital / daily waiting times.
- Provide basic clinical information to patients / carers who are undergoing procedures within the unit.
- Telephone patients to remind them of their appointment time and date.
- Provide empathetic verbal support for patients / carers via face-to-face contact and over the phone.
- Handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
- Use hospital information systems to track medical notes, process patients, book appointments and carry out any other tasks associated with the system.

Join the Haematology Pharmacy Team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and become part of a specialist multidisciplinary team delivering services across inpatient, ambulatory, day unit and outpatient settings. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in advanced haematology practice, including CAR-T therapy, haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and other novel treatments.We are seeking a motivated pharmacist to join our team as part of an established job-share arrangement.
The post holder will support pharmacy services within the Haematology Day Unit and Ambulatory Care Unit, providing specialist pharmaceutical care for patients with complex haematological conditions. They will contribute to the implementation of new therapies, service development and quality improvement initiatives. The role includes responsibilities across inpatient and outpatient haematology services, including HSCT, CAR-T therapy and ward-based clinical pharmacy services. Working closely with consultants, nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team, the post holder will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care and support ongoing service development. Suitably qualified independent prescribers may have opportunities to utilise and develop their prescribing skills within outpatient services, in line with service requirements. - Work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, providing specialist advice to consultants, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.

Job summary
Successful candidates will have a clinical background with excellent knowledge and skills in musculoskeletal issues as well as an understanding of both the NHS and military culture and environment and have excellent administration skills. They will be used to managing a clinical team and overseeing clinical pathways of care. The postholder will be responsible for overseeing and final sign off of clinical plans to support veterans ongoing physical health and presenting them at a virtual MDT for agreement. They will have good problem-solving skills and be used to working in a changing environment with different patients requiring different strategies within a developing service. Whilst the postholder will not have face to face contact with veterans, this role will include liaising with GPs, hospital consultants, military charities and other stakeholders to ensure those more complex referrals are supported with a holistic overview, coordination of other stakeholders and liaison with the MOD and Personnel Recovery Units (PRUs) for personnel leaving the Armed Forces who meet the criteria of the service.
Please note this is a home-based post - the expectation is that the postholder will be based at their home with occasional travel into London or other parts of England.

Job summary
We provide a comprehensive Paediatric Audiology service including assessing babies referred from the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme, the behavioural and objective assessment of children of all ages and the habilitation of children with hearing loss. We also provide a specialist bone conduction hearing implant (BCHI) service. The Paediatric Audiology Service sits alongside Adult Audiology Services and the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme.
The department is a training centre for Scientist Training Programme through the National School of Healthcare Science. The post holder will be a Training Officer for trainees undertaking the Scientist Training Programme, providing clinical supervision, training and mentoring to junior members of staff and trainee's. It is therefore, imperative for the post holder to continue maintaining professional development.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a positive and caring attitude that is patient-centred and maintain a calm and organised approach when working under pressure. They will work in an environment that undergoes constant challenges, and will need to adapt to service needs within the clinical environment ensuring that all aspects of the service are developed and delivered to high standards.

Main duties of the job
- To provide a diagnostic service for the Paediatric Audiology Department both on the hospital site and in the community, performing diagnostic Audiological assessment mainly on neonates and children. To include children with learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and additional disabilities or special needs.
- This includes carrying out ABRs in clinic, under sedation and in theatres.
- To provide aural habilitation for babies and children which includes providing counselling to distressed parents/guardians about their children's hearing loss and associated problems, and to have the ability to make decisions about the most appropriate course of treatment for the patient in their care.
- To deputise for the clinica lead in the day to day running of the Paediatric Audiology Service. To include maintenance of highest levels of health and safety.
