Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing service focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
We are a team of thirteen consultant gastroenterologists providing inpatient and outpatient services. The department has a 24 bedded specialist ward, adjacent to the endoscopy suite and outpatient facilities.
In 2024/25 the department saw approximately 10000 new GP outpatient referrals. A full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services are provided e.g. ERCP, oesophageal stenting and capsule endoscopy. Our department handles ~18,500 outpatient visits annually, with dedicated results clinics.
Access to EUS - is available at local hospitals. Six established nurse endoscopists and 2 endoscopy fellows also contribute to the busy endoscopic workload. Yearly, the endoscopy department carries out approximately 12000 procedures.
Main duties of the job
The full-time post (10 PAs: 8.5 DCC, 1.5 SPA) includes:
- inpatient care (1:13 rota)
- outpatient clinics (2/week)
- endoscopy lists (3/week)
Weekend work is part of the job plan and includes emergency endoscopy, ward rounds, and MAU in-reach.
Teaching (Bristol University), training, and multidisciplinary meeting participation are encouraged. The department aims to expand general gastroenterology and develop services like colon capsule, nasal gastroscopy, and EUS. The post includes audit, admin duties, and attendance at directorate meetings.
Key responsibilities include ward cover (Haygarth), outpatient clinics, GI endoscopy, junior doctor supervision, and formal/informal teaching. Non-fixed sessions cover audit, CME, admin, research, and professional development. Additional SPA time may be allocated for managerial or educational roles.
Your development will be supported by maintaining CPD, attending courses, and completing annual appraisals. Management duties include service efficiency, resource planning, and business case development.

Job summary
Specialist Clinical Pharmacist Paediatric and Neonatal Services, Band 7
We are looking for enthusiastic, patient-orientated clinical pharmacist to join our supportive clinical pharmacy team within paediatric and neonatal services at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
You will become an integral member of our clinical pharmacy team, ensuring safe and effective prescribing and management of medication. Working at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital the specialist paediatric and neonatal pharmacist is responsible for providing the clinical pharmacy service to Paediatric and Neonatal areas in order to promote safe, rational, effective and economic use of medicines. This includes responsibility for clinically screening standardised neonatal parenteral nutrition and paediatric chemotherapy as part of the local POSCU MDT. The post holder will also act as deputy to the Lead Pharmacist for Women and Children and will also be expected to provide clinical pharmacy cover to the gynaecology ward on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job
Provide Clinical Services to Paediatrics and Neonates
- Review prescriptions to ensure they are legal, safe, cost-effective, clinically necessary and appropriate, accurate
- Resolve any discrepancies and problems identified
- Provide specialist information and advice to consultants, junior medical staff
- Provide information and advice to nursing staff on a daily basis,
- Educate families/patients as appropriate about their medication
- Communicate with patients, carers, community pharmacists and GP surgeries as necessary
- Liaise with families/patients, GP surgeries and community pharmacists
- Access and interpret clinical information for specific patients (e.g. from Trak Care, EPR, Pharmacy, Chemocare and IPS computer systems
- Participate in Consultant ward rounds as appropriate, providing specialist pharmaceutical advice and information
- Undertake risk management and ensure compliance with legislation and relevant national and regional/network policies and guidelines, along with local policies and procedures including the Trust Formulary
- Report clinical incidents and respond to drug errors

Within the department are specialist clinical teams; the Specialist Mental Health Pharmacy facilitates delivery of Specialist services for Mental Health & Learning Disabilities. The cancer services team provide a pharmacy service at both sites for oncology & haematology and satellite pharmacy.

Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly, forward-thinking team at Aspen Medical Practice. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a large, well-established training practice committed to high-quality patient care, clinician wellbeing and professional development.

Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Prisons Transfer Coordinator to join our Forensic and Offender Healthcare Directorate. This Band 7 role is responsible for coordinating safe, effective and timely mental health transfers for people in prison who require admission to external NHS or independent inpatient services. The post will be based at HMP Bristol, with regular support and travel required to HMP Exeter. These are the two remand prisons in the South West with the highest volume of mental health transfers and will form the main focus of the role. The postholder will also be expected to travel to and support other prisons across the South West with mental health transfers on a case-by-case basis, although transfer numbers at these establishments are significantly lower. You will work closely with prison healthcare teams, inpatient providers, commissioners, the Ministry of Justice and other partner agencies to support transfers within national timescales and ensure continuity of care throughout each person's pathway.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will coordinate referrals, assessments, admissions and remissions for people requiring transfer under Part 3 of the Mental Health Act 1983. Acting as the key link between prison clinical teams and external providers, you will track each referral, identify and escalate delays, support resolution of disputed transfers and help ensure admissions are completed within the national 14-day transfer target. You will maintain accurate records and transfer data, provide specialist clinical advice, attend relevant reviews and forums, and support safe care planning when patients return to prison. Working primarily across HMP Bristol and HMP Exeter, you will build effective relationships with healthcare teams, secure services, commissioners, the Ministry of Justice and other statutory and independent partners. Main duties of the job
As a Mental Health Practitioner you will be providing specialist mental healthcare to offenders and working as part of the Mental Health In-Reach Team, plus wider mental health services. You will be required to work in a psychologically minded way with offenders in achieving their agreed goals and quality health outcomes.
Our Mental Health Team provide specialist interventions at primary and secondary care level including; referral management, screening assessment, triage, evidence-based interventions, care planning and risk assessing, plus one-to-one and group-work facilitation.
Our Mental Health Practitioners manage a mixed and challenging caseload and are required to perform robust assessment, screening and interventions to offenders with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. You will contribute to alternatives to inpatient admission and assisting with early discharge through the implementation of high intensity interventions and complex case management arrangements.
One of our key aims is to ensure continuity of care for an offender on ordinary location and reduce the length of stay, both in relation to prison inpatient services and external NHS/independent in-patient services. You will work closely with community mental health teams to ensure appropriate sharing of information, continuity of care and the Care Programme Approach for all offenders as necessary.

Main duties of the job
You will work as an independent reporting practitioner, working autonomously but supported by fellow Sonographers, Consultant Obstetricians and the Ultrasound Manager. You will work as part of a high quality Ultrasound imaging service, caring for patients and working with trainees, specialty grade clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary teams.
We provide a wide variety of Obstetric examinations including early pregnancy assessment , Nuchal translucency anomaly and growth scans.
Sonographers are required to rotate between sites and help us to maintain our high quality 7-day service between the hours of 08:00 to 20:00.
Candidates must hold a recognized UK qualification such as PG (cert), PG (Dip) or DMU or equivalent and be state registered

Main duties of the job

Communication:

Job summary
This role provides essential operational and logistical support to ensure the Trust maintains full compliance with NHS England's Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) Core and Interoperable Capability Standards.
Working closely with the EPRR Operations Managers, the post holder will take a lead role in the maintenance, readiness and governance of EPRR live and training equipment across the Trust, including SORT vehicles, Equipment Support Units and National Mass Casualty Vehicles.
A key focus of the role is the effective management of equipment, assets and associated records, ensuring all items are serviced, audited, safely stored and immediately deployable for a wide range of incidents.
The post holder will support the issuing and tracking of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), maintain robust equipment registers, and work proactively to identify servicing, replacement and replenishment needs.
The role also contributes to the planning and delivery of EPRR training and exercises, such as Marauding Terrorist Attack (MTA) and SORT activities, providing logistical coordination and preparation. Working with minimal supervision, the post holder will deliver high quality administrative and operational support to the wider EPRR team, assist with projects as required, and ensure Trust policies and legal requirements, particularly around the storage and replacement of medicines on mass casualty vehicles, are consistently met.
Main duties of the job
As an EPRR Support Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the operational readiness of specialist emergency preparedness assets across the Trust. You will coordinate the maintenance, servicing and assurance of specialist vehicles, equipment, PPE and consumables, ensuring compliance with national standards and organisational requirements.
The role involves managing asset records and equipment databases, supporting training exercises and operational deployments, coordinating logistics across multiple sites, and working closely with internal teams, external partners and suppliers. Applications are invited for two full time (10PA) Consultant Haematologist posts, to join a team of nine consultant haematologists in Bath.
You will be working in a haematology department which is committed to providing high quality care and is at the forefront of innovative practice in the region. The posts will provide opportunities for the successful candidate to contribute to a rapidly evolving department which delivers high intensity chemotherapy and autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
We encourage a specialist interest and will endeavour to accommodate this. The department is an active recruiter to an expanding trial portfolio. The department also has strong research links with major academic centres in the region, including the Universities of Bath, Bristol and West of England. The successful candidates would be encouraged to open additional clinical trials and develop their own research interests.
You would be expected to become an accredited educational supervisor. Candidates for the post must be registered medical practitioners and on, or eligible to join the Specialist register for Haematology within six months of the date of the advisory appointments committee.
Main duties of the job
This post is a full time NHS post with 10 programmed activities (PAs). The appointee is expected to develop a specialist interest to complement the roles of the existing consultant team, but the department will endeavour to accommodate any specialist interest a candidate may have.
Suitably qualified candidates may be eligible for an honorary academic appointment with the University of Bristol Medical School, to develop a research or specialist interest further.
FRCPath or equivalent and M/FRCP are essential qualifications for this post.

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Breast Unit admin team as aPatient Pathway Coordinator.
This post is based onsite and is a key role within the Trust where you will provide a full and comprehensive administration service to the Breast Unit, including welcoming patients at reception.

You will need to have a good attention to detail, and be able to negotiate with clinicians and patients to ensure that patients receive their treatment within our target times.
Full support and training is provided.
This is a part time post at 22.5 hours per week - you must be able to work on Mondays and Fridays, and any other day of the week.
Main duties of the job
To provide a full and comprehensive administration service to the Breast Unit, including welcoming patients at reception. This will require the post holder to possess great communication skills and a warm welcoming manner.
